R/R/CS: I started this thread again this morning because my cat woke me up before 5:00am and I'm the worst at going back to sleep. Can anyone cat owners give some advice? He never used to do this but one day last week he was meowing really early because his food dish was empty (we keep it filled all the time and he just grazes) so I got up to fill it. Since then it's now a daily thing in the morning for him to meow insistently for no apparent reason. I got up this morning and he had plenty of food, and now I've been up since 5, and he's off sleeping somewhere. I keep finding him and waking him up because I'm annoyed that he's sleeping and I'm not.
GTKY: What kind of place did you grow up in? Big city? Small town? In between? Do you or your family still live there? Did you like growing up there? Pretty small town. Under 20,000. When I was young, my town was constantly associated with having an abnormally high teen pregnancy rate which isn't a great claim to fame. After I finished working on cruise ships and met DH we got an apartment in the city he was from (about 45 mins away) but then I got a job in my hometown and was commuting and he finally agreed that we could buy our house here. I was indifferent to this town growing up because there wasn't a lot to do (hence the high teen pregnancy rate I guess) but now I love it. I have a very community-oriented job and I love being involved and having a sense of pride in the town. A lot of my family is here and my parents live a block away. We didn't intent to buy our house so close to them, but it just kind of worked out that way .

GTKY: What kind of place did you grow up in? Big city? Small town? In between? Do you or your family still live there? Did you like growing up there?
I grew up in Central NJ which depending on where you live in Nj, may or may not exist lol. It was the suburbs, moderate sized town. Actually enjoyed growing up here. Our street had a ton of kids and I just remember always being outside or in each other's homes - playing manhunt, catching lightning bugs etc. I don't see too much of that these days. The majority of my siblings still live in that area. I have moved up to North NJ and we live in the inner city currently due to OH's fireman job.
@MelissaM090 I hear you about the not being able to fall back asleep. I was up at 5 too and could not fall back asleep for anything. I'm so going to regret that later since it's my 16 hour work day.
Testing: So after yesterdays testing fail, I bought new test and I got a BFP! This is crazy, last time took me months of trying.
Thanks everyone.
GTKY: What kind of place did you grow up in? Big city? Small town? In between? Do you or your family still live there? Did you like growing up there? Subs right in the Big City. I grew up in Northern VA so subs for DC but I grew up inside the Beltway so almost city but not quite. Nope my parents and us do not live there anymore. I always wanted to move to Colorado, away from the humidity and near skiing! My parents retried from the govt. and moved into their mountain house in Colorado next to Keystone Ski Resort. Now my DH family still lives there so we go and visit. I liked all the shopping and food choices. I also loved all the history around us and being able to grew up to do day trips to some of the most important places in USA. But hate the traffic, humidity, and prices in housing and lack of skiing.
R/R/CS: Honestly, I'm just enjoying the fact that we head to the beach tomorrow and am not really thinking about the TWW (except for this thread of course) so I'm in a pretty good mood!
GTKY: What kind of place did you grow up in? Big city? Small town? In between? Do you or your family still live there? Did you like growing up there?
Great question!! @Marley629 I grew up in Central NJ as well, which absolutely exists! I loved the town that I grew up in and think about moving back there (my parents and sister still live there). It was actually pretty idyllic. But I could never get DH to move there. I met him in DC and he's a Southern boy through and through.

R/R/CS: I haven't started my period, and I can't turn a test positive either. I just don't know what's going on. Fertility Friend recommends that I test in two days, but if I were pregnant, wouldn't a test show me by now?
It doesnt help that PMS and pregnancy have the same symptoms. I have tender breasts, irritability, and light cramping in my lower abdomen (below the hips). I may be bloated, or because I have been eating like crap the last few days, maybe I gained some weight. I'm not sure which. I have been increasing my water intake like crazy, so I can't rely on my frequency of going to the bathroom as a sign. I want to either get a positive test or just start my period so I can try again next cycle.
GTKY: What kind of place did you grow up in? Big city? Small town? In between? Do you or your family still live there? Did you like growing up there?
I live in the town I grew up in. It's in between big city and small town, but has grown a lot during my life. I wish it would stop growing. I hate big cities, and have no desire to see my home grow that much.
R/R/CS: My temp dropped today which would have got me excited about the elusive "implantation dip," but it also did this same exact thing at 9dpo last cycle. Also, it's my first day of summer break so I'm looking forward to being real lazy.
GTKY:
What kind of place did you grow up in? Big city? Small town? In
between? Do you or your family still live there? Did you like growing up
there? I grew up in a relatively small town (~10,000) and moved back here after college. I didn't mind growing up here, but there isn't a whole lot to do and everyone knows everyone AND all their business. We are moving to a different town this summer and I'm pretty happy about it.
Testing: Yesterday after work. Had a pretty good hold and had an uncontrollable urge to POAS. So I did. 5 minutes BFN. Threw it away. 5 minutes later I came back to the bathroom for lotion and thought "meh", dug it out of the trash (STUPID..I know) and saw a faint pink line. Tried again 5 hours later with a good hold. Negative, with no line ever showing up ever.. So this morning I testing again with FMU. BFN at 5 minutes, then I left for work. Whatever. I am being dumb.
R/R/CS: All of the above. Feeling pretty emotional today. It was our first monitored/TI cycle and I just *KNOW* it is another failed cycle. Temp is on the slow but steady climb down.
GTKY: What kind of place did you grow up in? Big city? Small town? In between? Do you or your family still live there? Did you like growing up there? I grew up in a beach town till about 3rd grade, then moved to the city next to it which is an island. Both small-ish towns. My immediate family still lives here too. I loved it growing up. Got to see all the space shuttles and rockets launch. Shuttle landings. Days at the beach or out on a boat. Was fun.
@Melissa090 - I have a cat that does the same exact thing. He drives me nuts. I love it during the week because he starts when I need to get up for work. But hate it on the weekend because he still thinks I need to get up and go to work. SO I get up and chase him around like a crazy person and then go back to bed. 50/50 on going back to sleep.
@Marley629 - Sorry for FF and AF Good luck to you with SA and HSG! I hope you get some great answers!!
R/R/CS: Found out last night that my cousin is pregnant. I'm happy for her, but it's one big fat reminder that I am struggling. I am trying hard to remain positive, but man is it hard sometimes.
GTKY: What kind of place did you grow up in? Big city? Small town? In between? Do you or your family still live there? Did you like growing up there? Born and raised in southwestern Ohio. I moved to Chicago for a few years in my early 20s to earn my Master's degree, but I moved back to Ohio over two years ago now. It was a priority for me to be near my family, and while I do miss Chicago, there's no place like home.

GTKY: What kind of place did you grow up in? Big city? Small town? In between? Do you or your family still live there? Did you like growing up there? I grew up in rural PA. Like, town population ~1500 rural. Not unusual for kids to drive tractors to school and we got the first day of deer hunting season off. My folks still live there, as does my sister and her family. I went to a state college in a college town (so rural townsfolk + college kids), then followed my life dream and moved to Chicago under the guise of grad school (which I stopped attending after halfway completing because holy moly that's expensive). Now partner and I (who also grew up rural in Cajun Texas) live smack dab in Chicago, in a neighborhood that's got, no lie, 45 times the population of my hometown. Bought a house and everything. While we both absolutely love our upbringings (and rarely wear shoes outside which BAFFLES our neighbors), we're happy to be where we are.
R/R/CS: I spent two hours cooking and meal prepped all my meals for the next 5 days last night. I am so excited and proud of myself. Second week in a row! DH has been working a lot again but today is his Friday. Yay!!

I grew up half in Vegas and half in what I thought was a small town in the mid west (about 25,000) people, but I always consider Vegas my hometown. I moved back there after my first year of college and met DH. I loved living in Vegas and my whole family is still there along with my best friend I've known my whole life. Now I live in a town of 5,000 where the closest big city is an hour and a half away on either direction. It's ok, but I'm definitely a city girl.

Grew up in a in between, it was no New York City, but wasn't a rural area. I now live across the bridge from that city in a bit of a smaller place with an amazing urban feel, everything is bikable/walkable and there is a great young population with a lot going on! I love it!

(For realz this time) I was worried this was going to be an anovulatory cycle or that my RE would have to end it with meds, but had O pains yesterday evening followed by a temp spike this morning. All other signs were pointing to O being this week too. Yay!!
GTKY: I grew up a Navy brat. I've lived in quite a few different places, including Virginia Beach, Iceland, New Orleans, Pennsylvania, and finally sunny Orlando. I still live in central Florida and I love it. I don't think I will ever leave here. My family is all from Pittsburgh and I visit every now and then, but it's so grey looking and depressing compared to what I've gotten used to here in Florida. Can't go wrong with beaches in every direction and no snow ever!

Testing: None until way past AF being due next Tuesday. Probably the Friday or Saturday after.
R/R/CS: Had to have a serious talk with myself this morning. I had to tell myself that no matter how many things I google and no matter how many times someone else has gotten KTFU from whatever circumstances, it will not change whether or not I am PG at the end of this cycle. I feel a bit better now This two week wait was getting to me more than usual!
GTKY: What kind of place did you grow up in? Big city? Small town? In between? Do you or your family still live there? Did you like growing up there?
Born in an extremely small town in the Upper Peninsula, where my grandparents still live in a town of 300 people, it's my favorite place! But we were military so I ended up moving to Alaska - two different cities, loved it there, so beautiful! Then we moved to Ohio when I was in middle school and we have been here ever since! I was pretty angry when we first moved to Ohio but I wouldn't change it for anything because the friends and husband I have now can't be beat! It's actually our anniversary today and I have the next two days off work, massages tomorrow and camping this weekend! Can my work day be over yet please?
@linzrunz Nice work with the food prepping! I prelogged this week, and while yesterday had a bit of a hiccup, mostly stuck to the script... Kutgw! I also lived in Vegas for 2 years, but we had to bring his mom back East again once his step-dad passed. It was a tough chapter, but I actually liked living in Vegas, too!
Testing: BFNs all around. Waiting for AF to show up probably tomorrow.
R/R/CS: I tested yesterday one last time and was finally able to admit that I am out. No testing today. Just waiting for AF to come. Probably tomorrow. Major PMS symptoms started last night. Cramps and gas/bloating and major emotions. I cried over like 30 Facebook posts last night, and they weren't even anything to cry over. Now I am planning for next month. If we are being totally perfectly honest, if I would have gotten ktfu this month the timing would have been pretty tough, but doable. So, I keep trying to focus on that. I have a questions for those more experienced than me. Do you tell your SO about your BFNs each month? Like, how do you go about doing that? Do they know when you are testing? Just curious about all that. How do they normally react?
GTKY: What kind of place did you grow up in? Big city? Small town? In between? Do you or your family still live there? Did you like growing up there? I grew up in a small town of about 2,000 people. It was a mill town, with a really big paper mill. Right around the time I graduated the mill was sold and it was shut down. That really hit the town hard, since a huge percent of the population worked there. It was already definitely a super poor, dumpy town and since that happened it has gone down hill even more. It makes me sad. I never had a huge bond with my town, but I still love it's little quirks and weirdness. DH is also from a small town of about 2,000, on the opposite end of the state. His town is completely different though. It is a really touristy town with a really popular brewery and definitely more upper middle class. A month before we got married we had to move to the largest city in our state for DH to go to grad school. (about 1.5 million people here) I would NEVER have chosen to move here. We have been here for almost 5 years now and we are moving on Saturday to DH's hometown. We will be there for the summer and then in Sep. we are moving to a larger city (about 245,000 people) about 30 minutes from his hometown. That is where we hope to settle down and live for a long time.

@mrsstuessy I don't tell my husband every time I test, but I usually do tell him where we are at each day. He's a part of this process too. I don't make a big deal about it. It's just a quick thing I mention when I tell him about my day after work.
@mrsstuessy - Sorry for all the BFN's And all the feels It is good you are going to to the next cycle fresh and with a plan I do not tell H when I am testing. I kind of do it discretely. The only time he knows it is a BFN is when I tell him AF has showed up. He seems to be OK with this method. Occasionally he will ask if I have tested and I will tell him. He gets sad/disappointed but moves on the the next round like a champ.
Testing: Tested yesterday on a cheapie (which I'm now out of) because I didn't get AF yet.
R/R/CS: I am confused. Why didn't I temp again? I must not have O'd when I thought I did, because I average 11-12 day LPs. I have zero PMS symptoms today, and had zero yesterday. After like two days of being a moody B due to what I assume is PMS. Now I'm back to like that anxious "when will AF start" feeling. Total downer! This is mostly only frustrating because I am so ready for this next cycle! I've got a game plan! I've got the gross blue pill generic guaifenesin! I've got a new box of RRL tea! I've got PNVs! I've got DH on multis! I've got a plan!
... And life has once again taught me that you can plan all you want and that's just not how it works. So I wait.
GTKY: So I moved when I was 15, and it may as well have been to another country for the culture shock value. I was raised in a large city in South Florida, where like everyone but me was from New York or South America. Lots of people, fast pace, lots of cultures mingling together. When I was in high school, we moved to a rural small town (but actually we never lived "in town", we lived out in the county) in North Carolina. In the mountains. Totally different culture, lifestyle, everything. I still live in the mountains in NC. I miss some parts of living in FL for sure, but I'm happy here. I'm very glad to have experienced both - I know people who would have benefited from a little exposure to other cultures and peoples, for sure.
@felix08 - I have a dip somewhere around 7-9 DPO every single cycle I've temped. It's lost its appeal, for sure.
@BusinessWife - GL with your labs today! I hope it's a better experience.
@MelissaM090 - That sounds like a smaller version of my town. Everyone leaves and comes back haha. I didn't, but I also moved here as a young teenager. And I started dating DH in high school, and he wasn't leaving, and yknow I thought he was pretty cool and wanted to give our new relationship a chance.
@Marley629 - I'm sorry you feel CD1 coming on & for the BFN, but glad you have a plan! I think that helps. I'll be looking for updates about the HSG... I think that's my first step when we hit 12 months later this year.
@GrabberBlue2010 - I'm sorry for the BFNs. That's a roller coaster!
@linzrunz - Good for you re: meal prepping! I really need to learn how to do this!!
@Zoey1019 - Lol! I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or genuinely want to get on with AF! I totally feel that way today. I want to get this thing started.
@Steelerfan78 - Yaaaay for O! Congrats! Welcome!! Have some punch!
@mrsstuessy I don't make a big deal about my BFNs to DH, but I might drop it in passing sometimes. It usually comes up when we're in the kitchen and he's about to pour me a big glass of wine and I haven't told him anything yet. He'll sort of pause, look at me and I'll tell him.
@linzrunz Great job on the meal prep! I'm the worst at doing that and am envious of your skills!
@mrsstuessy - I have only tested a handful of times just because I don't order wondfo's or anything and only keep a few FRER's on hand, but I typically don't tell him. He actually randomly asked if I ever had and I said yes it was negative and he was like "you didn't tell me?!". But I explained to him that it was 8dpo and I only did it to be sure prior to a bachelorette weekend. But I typically try to wait until after AF is due so it just doesn't come up that often. I hate peeing on $$$ lol, but it's so tempting every cycle!
@momtoleo I love the south too so I don't blame him, but I'll always be a jersey girl so keep working on him and maybe he will give in one day and move back up
@khbear thank you! I'll def keep you guys updated. I'm glad you have a plan and are ready for next cycle but I also hope you won't need it!! FX!!! I thought about not temping too for next cycle but I don't know if I can let go.
@mrsstuessy I don't tell him about every test, especially when I test too early out of BSC. I pretty much just let him know when AF has shown up. A couple of times when he knew it was late, I just walked out of the bathroom and made sad trombone noises and he knew what it meant. We never dwell on it, and that helps immensely.

@mrsstuessy I tell my H about my BFNs if he ask or if he starts to bug me. He asks A LOT of questions about everything so he generally knows when my period is supposed to start. If he starts asking about being KU I will tell him no because the test said so. Also, misery loves company. It is going to be really hard to surprise this guy when I one day do get my BFP!
@PepperAT Oh God the asking "are you pregnant?" is so irritating. I try my best not to get annoyed whenever DH asks but he literally did it RIGHT after sex the other day on our way to dinner with family and he just pats my stomach and goes "is there a baby in there?" and on the one hand I think aw that's nice, but on the other hand I want to say "I DON'T KNOW DON'T ASK ME!". But I try to refrain from freaking out on him, he knows not what he does

It was actually pretty idyllic. But I could never get DH to move there. I met him in DC and he's a Southern boy through and through.

I grew up in the Midwest, in a suburb of a pretty big city. Best of both worlds, IMHO. ETA: Definitely don't live there anymore, now I'm in CENTRAL JERSEY @momtoleo @Marley626 since DH us from Jersey. The kind of place where one town runs into the next and you never know which one you're in... lol

Also, I will fully SS that my temps are actually trending very different than normal. Usually they would be climbing higher and then starting to come down a bit by now, not sitting low, and then moving up... who knows if it means anything! ❄☃

Testing: Tomorrow again
Month/Cycle: 9/9

R/R/CS: My temp dropped today which would have got me excited about the elusive "implantation dip," but it also did this same exact thing at 9dpo last cycle. Also, it's my first day of summer break so I'm looking forward to being real lazy.
GTKY: What kind of place did you grow up in? Big city? Small town? In between? Do you or your family still live there? Did you like growing up there? I grew up in a relatively small town (~10,000) and moved back here after college. I didn't mind growing up here, but there isn't a whole lot to do and everyone knows everyone AND all their business. We are moving to a different town this summer and I'm pretty happy about it.
CD/DPO: 31 / 10

Testing: Yesterday after work. Had a pretty good hold and had an uncontrollable urge to POAS. So I did. 5 minutes BFN. Threw it away. 5 minutes later I came back to the bathroom for lotion and thought "meh", dug it out of the trash (STUPID..I know) and saw a faint pink line. Tried again 5 hours later with a good hold. Negative, with no line ever showing up ever.. So this morning I testing again with FMU. BFN at 5 minutes, then I left for work. Whatever. I am being dumb.
R/R/CS:
All of the above.
@skiingstark - Congrats!
@momtoleo - Have fun at the beach!!

Born and raised in southwestern Ohio. I moved to Chicago for a few years in my early 20s to earn my Master's degree, but I moved back to Ohio over two years ago now. It was a priority for me to be near my family, and while I do miss Chicago, there's no place like home.

VEGAS! That's where I live now

Near airport, so airport city mostly. We still live there my mom gave me & hubby house.
I do not tell H when I am testing. I kind of do it discretely. The only time he knows it is a BFN is when I tell him AF has showed up. He seems to be OK with this method. Occasionally he will ask if I have tested and I will tell him.
He gets sad/disappointed but moves on the the next round like a champ.
