When to tell siblings

I am 7 weeks with what will be baby #3 and I'm arguing with my husband on when to tell our 4.5 yr old and 2.5 yr old.  How long did you wait before telling you kids about their new sibling.  I should also say my daughter keeps asking for a sister and rubbing my belly telling me I'm going to have another baby lol smart kid

We told our 5 year old at about 7 weeks. She is old enough to be excited about the baby. She is fairly perceptive so she would definitely notice me being sad if something went wrong with the pregnancy. We decided to telk her because Keeping it from her seemed to invite more trouble than it fixed.

With my last pregnancy I told my kids around 10 or 11 weeks. A previous one I told later and the next I will tell the older kids roght away. I will tell my 3 year old when I am showing a lot.

I don't think there is one right time, there are good reasons to tell sooner and good reasons to wait.

We do as well which is why he wanted to wait, however my daughter can tell when something is up so she would know if I was sad and would ask a lot of questions so I wanted to just tell her.  We finally came to an agreement last night that I think will work so we are going to tell her this weekend which puts us at about 8 weeks

We have a 7 year old and have decided to tell him after we get genetic testing results back at about 12 weeks. I had a previous loss so that's part of it, plus 40 weeks is an eternity for a kid so waiting until after 1st tri makes sense for us.

We told the 5 year old at 5 weeks. It was thanks giving.  
We also told the family a few hours later.

Thanks ladies.  We told both of our kids last night and they are super excited.   Even with a history of loss I want my babies to be able to experience the joy and if we do loose the baby they will learn the lessons of sometimes things weren't meant to be.

We told our daughter (4 y) right away.  If something bad where to happen, we would need to get through it together as a family.  I'm also off of work for the summer with her as well.  I didn't want her to worry about why Mommy wasn't feeling 100%.

We just told my daughter (almost 4) a couple of days ago (6w today). She's been asking for a sibling and we figured she would be excited. We had a miscarriage last September and had unfortunately already told her so we had to break the news we had lost the baby. It's hard but I think she would've picked up on it if something had happened anyways so we figured why not. Congrats!
