Nora's birth was so much better than I could have ever dreamed of (minus one scare). My contractions started at 6pm 5/23 five minutes apart lasting one minute. I waited them out until 8:30 and had my husband call the hospital. They said that since I had my membranes stripped there was a good possibility it was false labor but I was welcome to come to the hospital. I waited another half hour and they didn't let up so we went. I got to the hospital at 9:30 they did a check and I was already dilated 6. They tried to get me checked in and my blood work done quickly because I knew right away I wanted an epidural. I was able to get my epidural and they asked if I wanted my water broken. I told them to wait a little while (I was sort of nervous with how quick everything was going) so they waited 45 minutes. When the doctor broke my water she told me it would probably be two hours so I should sleep. My husband and I woke up to about four or five nurses frantically trying to find our baby's heartbeat. They wouldn't say anything to us we just kept asking what was going on. Finally someone decided to check me and it turned out Nora had decided it was time for her to be born so she was crowning and that is why they couldn't find her where they were checking. They immediately found the heartbeat then and I bawled my eyes out. Right after, it was time to push. It was a total of three pushes and less than five minutes! She was born on 5/24 at 1:03am. I was amazed! I ended up with a very small tear and that was it! I can't believe how good I feel, especially when I compare it to my level three tear from my first. Nora has been so content all day and her big sister Emma is such a sweetheart with her. I'm so in love!!
