Can someone confirm, if you buy these type then you don't need inserts? 
Would I be able to use these for overnight as well? Maybe add a booster?

Correct, AIOs don't require inserts. Many people do use them overnight, but whether it's successful for you would depend on how heavy of a wetter your baby is. You can generally add a booster to them for extra absorption! Many people use pockets or fitteds at night.

The best AIO's I've used are blueberry simplex, Thirsties natural AIO, tots bots easy fit star, smart bottoms 3.1, imagine bamboo, Nicki's bamboo.

AIO diapers don't need inserts. You can use it overnight as well.
If you want booster, you can add, but I haven't used it for my kid
