It's just part of the ride unfortunately. Although in my opinion I preferred my previous pregnancy where diarrhea was what happened rather than the insane constipation I have this time around.

This. Count your blessings. No matter how embarrassing the fast walk to the bathroom is, it is better than being full of poo.
I think it's safe to take Imodium while pregnant, but check with your OB first. I vaguely remember it being an approved medicine though. Sorry you're dealing with this - I'm on the other side of the issue like PPs. I wish we could all find a happy poop balance!

I went from having diarrhea every day to constipation. It's pretty much a lose/lose situation. However I did notice that certain foods were triggering it for me. Apparently you can get food allergies or sensitivities when you're pregnant. For me its been milk products and peanut butter....I use to eat it ALL THE TIME. Then one night I had a pb and j sandwich forlunch and I couldnt leave the bathroom. I haven't had it since and I have been fine.

I believe that.. I used to eat ground turkey, turkey burgers and turkey hotdogs ALL of the time. Now, every time I eat ground turkey I get the worse sour stomach/all night-nausea/multi-day constipation. Either I've developed an allergy to it or my stomach just flat out cannot digest it. It is a shame, because it is a solid source of protein!!! WTF body
