edited May 2016 in Pregnant after IF

This is a weekly check in for the mommies who have made it to the 3rd trimester!!! If you are in week 28 or past, feel free to join in on the weekly fun.

If you're just joining us, please post a mini synopsis in your first post with your EDD, how many beans, if you know the sex(es) and how you have been feeling in your 3rd trimester along with any appointments you may have this week or had recently.

QOTW: Mommies who have little ones already: what is your favorite / most helpful / coolest baby product you have and why? Mommies who are expecting your first little one: what baby product are you most excited to receive or use, and why?

If you have updated bump pics, please share! We love seeing these baby bellies!!! And don't worry, we won't comment on how big your belly is getting like some of our friends, family and co-workers have! YES, there is a baby or babies in there, and YES they are growing happily and healthily ever day

Re: ***3rd Tri Check-In Week of 5/23***

  • Morning ladies! I hope you are all doing well and managing to stay somewhat comfortable!

I am coming up on 30 weeks and I can't believe how fast this went by. In 9 weeks, I will be having another son! 9 WEEKS! Ok, now I am staring at that sentence. WOW!

So, other than using the bathroom a thousand times a day and just feeling exhausted, I am feeling great. My family and I just went up north to Sedona, AZ and did a family/maternity shoot. I live in southern AZ and it's about 104 here so going up north about 3 hours away and a temp drop of about 50 is amazing. Here's a pic!

QOTW: I'd say the best thing I had for my first son is the pack and play. It has a detachable bassinet and changing area. We used that until Noah hit the max limit with weight. It made is so easy for middle of the night wake ups and diaper changes and feedings. Also, the Rock and Play. Noah had reflux and laying flat was causing him to spit up a lot more. We got the rock and play and it helped with the reflux and it also rocked him back asleep when he'd fuss and wiggle. That thing was amazing! I am so glad we got it and will be using that for sure with Wyatt. Also, a diffuser and sound machine. Serious life savers! We still use the diffuser and sound machine with Noah.

  • @TerraMae80  Love your bump pic!!!

32 weeks this week! I also can't believe that in about 8 weeks our baby will be here!!! It's crazy how the first few months went by so slow and now it seems like every time I blink another week has passed and we are closer to meeting our little miracle

Saw the doctor this morning. All is well again  Got to see our little babe's heart thumping on the mini-ultrasound machine and he/she is still head down. Good job baby! I go back in 3 weeks; thought I would be back in 2 but he said 3. I guess I'll just go with that.

QOTW: This is my first little one, so I'm really intrigued to see what other mommies have to say. Right now I am most excited about baby's stroller, a Cybex Agis M-Air 4, mainly because I am just so excited to take baby for walks  I also am pretty excited for our Baby Bjorn Travel Crib. We love to travel so I am looking forward to having something super light weight that will be easy for us to take with us wherever we go. Lastly, we registered for a book called Dear Pope Francis which includes letters from children from around the world to the Pope along with his answers back to the children. It just sounds like the cutest book ever!

And lastly, here are all of my bump pics from week 11 to week 31!!!

  • I had an appointment this morning. 40 weeks today! I had a midwife appointment this morning and she brought up induction. If I am still pregnant on Tuesday next week (because they are closed Monday) then I have a sonogram on Tuesday to check the fluids and my placenta and an NST as well as my normal appointment. She said they'd likely schedule an induction for Wednesday or Thursday. I am not comfortable with that as I will only be 41.5 weeks pregnant. I am going to suggest Friday or Saturday instead.

QOTW: I am most excited for the rock and play, I think. I've heard good things. I have bump pictures I can post later, but right now I am on my work lap top and have nothing on here.

  • @mechelita44 LOVE the pic progression! What a beautiful bump!!! It really doesn't seem that long ago we had just met and it's been nearly 9 months! It's flown by!

@AdorkablePixie Momma you are doing an amazing job! With my first I remember hitting my 38 week mark and telling my husband, "I don't know if I can do two more weeks!" It's so hard when you're that far and feeling the pressure of the baby being so far down. Hang in there. I really wish I could go as far with this pregnancy but because of a previous c-section my doc is suggesting another at 39 weeks so to be sure I don't go into labor and have my uterus burst. Yeah, a little freaky!

  • @TerraMae80 Your picture is beautiful. You're absolutely glowing! 9 weeks. Eeeekk! It'll be here before you know it!

@mechelita44 Your pic progression is pinterest worthy! I love it!

@adorkablepixie I can't believe you're 40 weeks already! I'm wishing you a quick and healthy delivery and can't wait for your birth announcement!

As for me, I just returned home from Hangout Fest. I was able to do a lot more than I thought and had a great time! No appointments this week, but I had to go to labor and delivery last week due to consistent, period-like cramping for hours. Luckily, all was well, but I may potentially have an "irritable uterus" due to other cramping episodes I had but thought they were just normal. I'm hoping I was just dehydrated and tired and won't have to worry about it happening again. Regarding baby prepping, my aunt is coming over to help paint the room next weekend, and I'm just waiting to have our wood floors installed the week of June 6. I can't wait to start putting the nursery together. All our furniture has been delivered and is just sitting in our living room in boxes. I made a hot air balloon mobile and am excited to see how it looks over the crib!

QOTW: I'm excited about the 2 carriers we registered for: LILLEbaby 6-Position Complete All Seasons Baby & Child Carrier and the Baby K'tan Baby Carrier. I'm also obsessed with this little shark robe and plaid fold over shoes on our registry,  both of which my spying tells me someone purchased already! I need to stop spying, but it's hard!!

Here's a picture from this weekend at 29 weeks!

Yay! I love everyone's bump pics!!! Awesome to see everyone taking pictures of their baby bellies throughout pregnancy  It will be so fun to look back at these down the road!

@AdorkablePixie Hang in there Mommy! Glad you are staying strong and waiting for baby to arrive whenever he wishes!

@DSTtots4lyfe thanks for filling us in on @NB817! I am going to run over to the May BMB and check out her birth announcement right now!

  • Today's co-worker comments:
"You look huge. When are you do again? Think you'll actually make it that long?"
"WHEN are you DUE? You look uncomfortable!!!"
"Wow, you are blossoming every time I see you. It's definitely a girl, or maybe a boy"   NO SH$T!

I feel like this topic could be a whole new thread on it's own "stupid things people say to pregnant women"
  • @mechelita44 I got the "your face looks puffier today" comment.  I wanted to reply with "oh kinda like yours looks everyday!?"  SMH, some people have some nerve.

    happy hump day bump day!

  • I had my appt yesterday and my doc and I spoke about birthing options, VBAC or C-Section. I said, I'd rather do a VBAC but I want to know what the risks are. Because of the C-Section with my son and the fact that he was stuck behind my pelvic bone, which more than likely means that my pelvic bone is narrow, and the fact that I was in labor for 12 hours and pushing for over and hour with nothing happening that a repeat C is the safest option for the baby. Yes, more complications can happen for the mom, but my son is all I'm worried about. I didn't have any complications with the first C so I am not worried.

I was also told that Wyatt is measuring 3 weeks ahead of schedule. AYE! No wonder I've been really feeling it lately. U/S in two weeks and then a follow up with the doc to hopefully scope out a date for the C-Section. This is happening so damn fast!

Thank you all so much! I've recovered really well and quickly this time! Not sure if it's all of the experience with this type of surgery or what but I'm basically back to normal besides it being a struggle to go from laying down to sitting up. Dylan has been here a week already and things are great with him. My milk came in and he was actually gaining weight by the time we left the hospital at 3 days old.
2 things I wasn't prepared for 1. The post pardum baby bump (just don't remember it being so prominent the first time around) and 2. All the love. When I nurse him and look at him it's like me heart wants to explode with love.
So just be aware your hearts are about to grow times a million! <3
