  • Weeks: 30

What size is baby? zucchini or half a cheesecake factory cheesecake.

What's next? (Milestones/appointments): appointment monday!  Excited to check on on baby.  I have some additional scans coming up to check growth.

Rants/raves/positive vibes:  I am sick which is unpleasant.  Kick counting is a little stressful but also reassuring.

    Questions:

Curried rice, emperors new groove (don't judge)
  • Loading the player...
  • Weeks: 28 (first weekly checkin-slacker here)

What size is baby? A pound of wings or men's baseball cap

What's next? (Milestones/appointments): Next appointment is the 7th-every two weeks now!!

Rants/raves/positive vibes:  I love naps and the best part of this pregnancy is taking all the naps.

Questions: Are any of you planning to start your maternity leave early? My leave starts counting the day I am out and I don't really want to waste a week sitting at home, but at the same time I feel like the last few weeks at work will be a struggle.

GTKY: favorite comfort food and movie?
Movie theater popcorn and I can't think of a favorite movie
  • Weeks: 27 on sunday

    What size is baby? lettuce

What's next? (Milestones/appointments): Glucose screening on monday. I am fearful I won't pass because all I crave is carbs and ice cream.

Rants/raves/positive vibes: This pubic bone pain is getting to be downright unbearable. I have an appointment with my OB on monday and prenatal Chiropractor. Hopefully one of them has an idea of what can help or fix it.

    Questions: Nada.

GTKY: favorite comfort food and movie? See above and probably Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley. I could watch it all the time.

I wish I could have maternity leave earlier, but my DH and I have to share FMLA when it is taken for the same reason because we work for the same company. Yes this is unfortunately legal. And yes it really sucks. Double boo!

  • @midwestbaby My husband and I are in the same situation. I was shocked when I found out that was the way FMLA worked. My husband is going to try to just get a couple weeks of vacation approved because he feels bad taking away from my FMLA. It sucks though cuz his time off obviously wouldn't be protected at all.

We are going the same route so that he doesn't take any of the maternity leave. I just find it highly ironic that we work for a big hospital system that deals with patients...yet has the crappiest insurance and leave policies.

    What size is baby? Kale

    What's next? (Milestones/appointments): Gd testing....blah

Rants/raves/positive vibes: I don't know if it's because I'm chasing around a two year old but I feel less mobile this pregnancy.  I don't get it though because I'm still running (couldn't by this time w/dd) and I have less hip/tailbone pain.

    Questions: Nope

  • @stephtess Search for Blooma on Amazon.  It's amazing prenatal yoga!  I love the am/pm dvd for having a shorter routine but the 60 minute version will definitely stretch out more areas.

What size is baby? Head of lettuce.

What's next? (Milestones/appointments):Counting down to the third trimester!

Rants/raves/positive vibes: I am feeling huge! Yesterday I went to my prenatal yoga class and there was a woman who was 36 weeks and I swear her belly wasn't as big as mine. I know, I know, everyone is different and our bodies handle pregnancy differently, yadda yadda yadda. I am still not loving this. I am just hoping baby has been through a growth spurt and might level off a bit, since I've got three months to go!

    Questions:

It is pretty amazing what companies can get away with! I am allowed 12 weeks, but only half of it is paid. My boss offered to let me work from home for the last week before I am due and I think I will take him up on that. DH doesn't work until 1 everyday and after that he is in the office and then on the ice for the rest of the night. He would really like to have the mornings as daddy and baby time, so really the baby will only go to daycare for a few hours in the afternoon. I am thinking I will only take 10 weeks off and that way I won't have to use too many of my vacation days.
