Skin Problems Anyone?

I apparently have developed a "stress related" eczema while pregnant. Just on my hands and feet, but it's pretty excruciating. It started on the tops of my toes and between my fingers, and in the last couple days has spread to the backs of my hands and the soles of my feet. Plus the fact that it's stress related is so awful. The worse it gets, the worse it itches because i can't get rid of it!

On top of the teenager-y acne I've had since getting pregnant, my skin has never been worse. Anyone else having similar problems? Any STMs have eczema during pregnancy that went away afterward?

Re: Skin Problems Anyone?

  • FTM here so I can't answer your last question but holy moly do I relate! I had acne prior to pregnancy and then all of a sudden I felt like I looked like a meth addict! Didn't help we can't use siliac acid (sp) which is found in all commonly known face washes, so I was trying to just rinse my face or use coconut oil which helped in the past but just wasn't cutting it. Black soap has been a life saver! My face isn't 100% clear but definitely 100 times better!

And with the eczema on the hands and feet? Yup! Mine is only on the back of my right hand of all places, and it comes and goes but when it's here it's so itchy.  I just try to put a natural cream on it to ease the itch (or at least put a barrier between my nails and skin), and then wait for the flare up to go away.

A tip from a dr friend when my son had eczema was to buy products that come in a tub rather than a tube, as those are usually more concentrated and effective. For the acne and weird texture of my skin during pregnancy, I put some generic witch hazel with 1-2 drops DoTerra Melaleuca oil (tea tree oil) on a cotton round and wipe my whole face before bed. Hope you find something that helps you!
  • Yep I've had eczema all my life I'm also photosensitive so allergic to sun right now I hot red mess and I live in canada so the suns only been warm about 2 weeks. Try alveeno eczema care it helps
  • I've always had some eczema and it has gotten much worse on my hands. I can't wear my wedding ring because of it, I have also been using aveeno eczema care and it does seem to be helping.

When I went for my 20week check up I was diagnosed with a pregnancy hormone induced folliculitis. On my lower back I have these pimple looking things that itch like crazy... Doc wasn't concerned but when I dr. Googled it was very scary.. I only have about 6 small bumps but the Google pics are really scary. She just said to watch it doesn't get worse and it will go away.. Soooo weird.
