Mosquito/bug repellent

Has anyone seen a mosquito repellent we can put on the LOs?

Im leaving to Mexico next week & really want to buy them some. I looked online & the very few i found say not to put on with sunscreen-which is really inconvenient since its going to be very hot & we are going to be out a lot while were over there.

We haven't needed repellent yet.  But from what I've read, I think the cautions are to not use a combo product of the two sunscreen and deet mixed together.  That way you avoid applying excess deet and if you apply sunscreen first it soaks in vice the deet soaking in. I'm sure there will be some alternate product suggestions to come but the AAP recommends the use of deet as necessary.

Looks like Cutter and Babyganics make one... chances are you won't need to use a sunscreen at the same time you need a bug spray. In my experience, mosquitoes are worst at night...dusk to dawn.

Babyganics sells sunscreen and bug spray in a combo pack. We've used both and had no issues.

@keggan yes thats what i read about the DEET. I was looking online & a lot said "either or."  

@CaboBride2015 yeah you would think they would only attack @ those times. When i went in Aoril of last year when i was 13 weeks pregnant i got bit all freaking day. No lie, 5 within 15 minutes it was ridiculous! They're savages! Haha!

5 in 15 minutes!  Ugh!  You might want to look at some netting options too if your planning to use a stroller or something just to help avoid them.  Good luck!

Babyganics is great. I got double packs on Amazon for a great price!

California Baby also makes one I found at Target.....have used it a couple of times and it works great!

Just wanted to make sure if you haven't looked up Zika virus precautions Mexico is at a level 2 right now.

@christinelynn78 yeah i saw but im going to Juarez which borderline to Texas. Im not going down deep down south where there have been reports of the virus. I always take extra precaution with my kiddos anyway cus i hate bugs! Thanks!

We just got the babyganics 2 pack sunscreen/bug spray because we're going to be in Maine next week and it is always super buggy there. I love their brand and I feel good about using them, and it wasn't super expensive!

They have the little bracelets that have the essential oils on them. I got ours at Walmart for less than a dollar a piece. I've used them a few times outside playing with the kids and each one has worn them. They really seem to work. I put the one on the baby on her ankle so she doesn't chew it. You can also attach them to strollers or any other thing you need to. I live in Alabama and normally as soon as I walk outside I start getting bites but haven't with these bracelets.
