How many weeks? 41 weeks today. (Feels like 41,000)
Highlight and low point of the week? Low point is definitely every day that this baby decides not to make an appearance. High point was the entire large jug of Coldstone Creamery Ice cream I ate this week. Not in one sitting
Appointment update? I have appointments today for an ultrasound, non-stress test and an appt with my OB. I assume we will probably discuss an induction date. And do another membrane sweep. Crossing fingers I am dilated more. I've stuck at almost 2 cm, 80% effaced for like a month now with no change.
Questions for the group? I've tried spicy food, pineapple, sex, pregnancy tea, squatting, hanging out on my exercise ball, doing lots of cat/cows on hands and knees. Anything else I should be doing? haha.
Obviously, we are still pregnant and have some time left, but how would you rate your pregnancy? Better/worse than expected? I really shouldn't complain about being 41 weeks because it's been relatively easy the whole time. I've definitely had some swelling/backaches/etc but nothing crazy that I didn't expect. HOWEVER, I'm ready to be done.
Highlight and low point of the week? Low point is that I still don't have an answer on maternity leave (will I get any? Will it be paid? How long do I get off?) ... it is really stressing me out. I had a dream my boss gave me 12 weeks paid and I was soo excited, then I woke up in a great mood and it took most of the day yesterday to convince myself that isn't true and I still don't have an answer. High point was probably surviving (and actually having fun at!) my daughter's second birthday party last weekend! It was a mermaid theme, and it turned out so cute!
Appointment update? Mine are on Mondays, they got screwed up when I had a sono a few weeks ago and DH was on a business trip. This past Monday I was at 1 cm and 60% effaced, the week before I was not at all dialated and 50% so I guess at least it was some progress. Next appointment is Monday and I have a BPP sono first. Hope baby stays inside that long so I can get stuff done for the nursery and the house in general this weekend, and pack hospital bags (for me, hubby, and baby, plus a bag for my toddler to go to grandma's)
Questions for the group? None from me, but I've been trying pretty much all of those! @jenbkc and nothing here either! The only other one I've been doing is nipple stimulation! And another emphasis on all the sex! Supposedly orgasms help kick start cx plus semen helps to soften the cervix? Something like that!
Obviously, we are still pregnant and have some time left, but how would you rate your pregnancy? Better/worse than expected? First and second tri were so easy I almost forgot I was pregnant, but third tri has kicked my ass! But we're for sure done after this so I'm trying to relish what I can of it, and take pictures and enjoy my inside baby for the last little bit that I can ...
Highlight and low point of the week? I think it's both my high and my low that I'm so ready to have this baby! I'm happy I made it to my due date, but now that I'm here I want my boy to make his entrance.
Appointment update? I just got back. Went from almost 1cm and soft last week to 2cm and 50% this week. She stripped my membranes and I'm going home in a half hour for a nooner with my H, lol. I'll try anything! I also started acupuncture this week.
Questions for the group? I'm being induced next Thurs. if he isn't here by then. I'm really second guessing this. I might just wait as long as Tuesday and see what they think at that time. How far will you go before induction?
Obviously, we are still pregnant and have some time left, but how would you rate your pregnancy? Better/worse than expected? Way better than expected. Once I got past the anxiety before our anatomy scan, it was really smooth sailing.
How many weeks? i had my little girl!!! Lark Valentine
Highlight and low point of the week? high point was holding her fit the first time. Low point was leaving home for the induction because I got really nervous
Appointment update? see the doctor again tomorrow
Questions for the group? none.
i tried everything to get her to come on her own, I think walking was the most productive but since I was induced I can't say anything actually worked
@js8812i was really nervous about being induced, but it went ok. I didn't need pitocin but contractions did come on strong and fast with the cervical thinner they used so I ended up getting an epidural (way not as scary as I thought it was). Not my ideal plan but don't be nervous if that's what the doctor wants to do
Obviously, we are still pregnant and have some time left, but how would you rate your pregnancy? Better/worse than expected? i would say i had a pretty easy pregnancy, besides some nausea and tiredness I really don't have much to complain about
@js8812 I am not being induced (previous CS so it isn't an option from my OB) but my RCS is scheduled for 41 weeks. Hope your LO makes an appearance and it's a moot point!
@js8812 I'm scheduled to induce at exactly 42 weeks. From everything I've read, that's when the benefit of not being induced and being allowed to go into labor on your own is outweighed by the risks of stillbirth or issues with the placenta. Not going to lie though... I REALLY hope I don't make it that far. Crossing my fingers that my little guy is just waiting for the full moon tomorrow
Highlight and low point of the week? Highlight, getting the house SUPER CLEAN.
Low point, sleeping like crap. Having no energy to go "do things" that I feel like I should do (go out to lunch, concerts, etc) before the kid arrives. I just want to sleep!
Appointment update? Next appointment on Tuesday, will talk about scheduling induction for somewhere between 41-42 weeks. Really hoping LO comes before that on her own!
Questions for the group? Any other STM+ go past their due dates? My first was born *on* her due date, my second two days before. This one seems to be very comfortable in there! I'm feeling terrifyingly great, wondering if it might be a bit before LO decides to make her grand entrance. Obviously, we are still pregnant and have some time left, but how would you rate your pregnancy? Better/worse than expected? A+! Aside from being super tired during the first trimester, I've been very fortunate to have an easy pregnancy.
