R/R/CS:  nothing really today... DH worked from 7am to 2am yesterday so I'm exhausted from waking up to the dog barking when he got home. But I can't complain too much because at least I didn't have to work as long as he did haha

GTKY:  this sushi place by our house! So freaking good. I won't say the name bc there's only 2 in the country :)

@RedBreast35 just last week one of my coworkers asked what quinoa was and my response was "Do you only want to know what it is? Or do you want my whole spiel on what it is and how great it is?" She chose the spiel so we talked about it and great recipes for it :)
  • Oh, I may have to pick your brain for your favorite recipes, @mokay19 .  I have a few that I make pretty often, but I love to hear what other people like!

R/R/CS: Feeling better today than yesterday. Finally got the high reading on my CBAD so I know O is a day or two out. Stressed out yesterday for no reason seeing that I'm on the exact time table I wanted to be. Ugh! Still taking a rest from working out until after I O. I really do think it has something to do with it...

GTKY: What is something that you frequently recommend to other people? (It could be a product/website/restaurant/book, etc)
YOGA. Always yoga. I recommend it to everyone, always. I've been doing it for 15 years or so and it has helped me in so many incredible ways both physically and mentally. I've had some pretty horrible injuries in life (broken bones, fractured vertebra in my spine...) and yoga changed my body in the right ways. I've done the 200 hour training and got half way through the 300 hour before I moved, so I got into the philosophy and spiritual side of it. Changed my life! Yoga and clean eating. I can be really annoying to be around sometimes! I'm just passionate.

@clover28 OMG YAY!!!!! Congratulations! That is so exciting!
@RedBreast35 I have a whole bag of quinoa in my cabinet at home. I know it's super healthy, and that's why I got it. I've been on a low carb diet for a while now because of the PCOS, and I really want to make it but I don't think I can eat it because 1) It has a lot of calories and 2) It has a lot of carbs. On the basis of my diet that is. But I realllllyyy want to make it lol. I guess I'll have to wait until a cheat meal!

    Month/ Cycle: 8/5

WAYDTGKU: Waiting. Feeling like my follicles are all:

R/R/CS: I want to thank everyone for your input yesterday on my vet/DH dilemma. I did end up telling him, and he took it really well.  I actually think he seemed relieved to be honest. Relieved because he didn't have to be the one to make the call. Also, because I'm BSC, the vet appointment is on Saturday morning. Friday I go in for an u/s to see where my follicles are. I have a gut feeling that I won't have growth, only because every other scan I've had so far I haven't had any. But now I'm worried that if I DO have growth, I'll have to trigger on Friday night and have the IUI scheduled for Saturday morning. Our fertility clinic is 1.5 hours away from home. Their only open until 12pm on weekends. So now I'm worrying that the IUI will end up being scheduled around the same time as the vet appointment. Again, I'm feeling as if it won't ultimately be an issue because I'm not banking on any growth (though I'm praying that there has been, obviously), but I can't help but worry.
GTKY: What is something that you frequently recommend to other people? (It could be a product/website/restaurant/book, etc)Oh boy. I don't really make recommendations all that much! I guess it depends on what the topic is!

    Edit: Spelling
  • @mrsdaddario Thank you!!! I couldnt be more excited about this job. I still have to pass my NP boards though before I can start.  I'm glad your husband took the vet news well. I'm sure that was a tough conversation to have. Good luck at your appointment on Friday.  Grow, follies, grow!

WAYDTGKU: Nothing right nor, just HIO, I guess. Waiting to get a call from the RU so we can schedule the consult for DH to get to the bottom of the semen issue.

R/R/CS: We had our final appointment with our regular Ob/Gyn. He sent over the referral for the RU and we expect to have an appointment within the next four weeks. Hopefully the issues is stemming from a resolvable problem. It was exceptionally difficult to find out the counts went down quite a bit, not up like we were hoping. We aren't going to focus on timing or anything for a bit, since it seems pretty pointless. Instead we are going to spend the next few months getting as healthy as possible as well as save up as much money as possible for the possible IVF we are looking at.

R/R/CS:  Question: How do ya'll help your H (or whoever, not judging) performance anxiety?  We had a good talk last night and it seems that he's feeling a lot of pressure and it makes it impossible for him to focus on his "end goal". I asked if he was sure he was ready for this (he's the one that suggested starting TTC) and he said yes, he's all in to be a father but he can't get passed the pressure.  Any suggestions?

  • @Dilynne - I did the same as what @AndiPandi127 suggested and stopped telling H about O'ing, FW, and all that jazz. The less he knew, the more he could 'let go' and just enjoy. Then, over time, he actually became interested and now we can talk about it lightly. I still don't go into detail and wait for him to bring it up. It seems like since he was able to control when we talk about it, he feels better about it all. Now he asks when we can start HIO EOD and we joke about how he can't give himself any love during the FW. It's all become more light-hearted.

Also, if you aren't, try and have sex on days that aren't in the FW. Show him that he isn't just a machine that needs to produce for you. Doing that for my H helped a lot too. Good luck!
  • DilynneDilynne member
@andipandi27 @kenya715  That's the thing though... I don't tell him when it's FW. Right after we have sex, every time, he asks if it's FW time. And if we're going to be 100% honest, I always tell him I don't know because I literally don't. My last cycle was over 60 days so it was a giant guessing game.

  • @clover28 It's called butterfly weed as well. I have some planted in my garden, a few in planters, and a bunch that are still in the pots they came in from Home Depot (those I use to feed the caterpillars I raise). They bloom from early spring to late fall, so plant them anytime in that range. They are easy to care for because they show you when they need water (they droop) and pretty much only need water about once a week or so. I live in Florida, so it may even be less in other places that aren't as hot. Honestly, the caterpillars will most likely eat it away to nothing before you even get a chance to kill it. Haha! Here's a pic of what it looks like:

Learning to sew. It's so depressing to go shopping and not find clothes that fit correctly because I have weird proportions, but when I sew my own clothes it's so fun because I get to customize everything and it fits perfectly at the end :). I've started giving out small sewing kits at bridal showers to get people started.

That's a tough one. I would say you don't know and then gently change the subject to distract him or something. I told my H that I have everything under control and he should trust me and relax. It took a little time but he got there. I'm sorry you're going through this. As someone who has gone through it too, all I can say is that sometimes it just takes time and you gotta be patient. Just be loving and supportive of him, too. It's frustrating for sure but things will get better.
  • @sammajane19 Fx for your appointment tomorrow! Is it to see how your follicles are developing??

@Steelerfan78 Hopefully the referral won't hold you up today! Fx for a really productive appointment, and if you're willing, let us know how you make out! Also, you always have the best one point gifs! Love it. Also, also, I second your Milkweed suggestion! I work at a garden center and just got a call from a kindergarten teacher yesterday looking for it for her caterpillars! Adorable.

@AndiPandi127 @Megzb510 I hear you on the bachelorette parties. I have one in June and I used to always be the big drinker and everyone expects me to keep it up all night and I'm like what if I just want to have a few drinks?! I already know the answer... unacceptable.

@leekat14 - Yes to that dry shampoo! And I understand not wanting to upset your DH, that's hard. And I'm sorry you had to deal with getting that news, especially from people who "weren't trying", you deserved a good cry if you wanted one!

R/R/CS: So I don't do a lot of posting in WTO/TWW because I temp very sporadically just to see where I'm at in my cycles and see if anything seems to be changing. I keep hoping I actually ovulate earlier than CD17/18 and that I have a longer LP than the supposed 10-11 day ones I have but nope. Been temping the past few days and O is probably today or tomorrow. It's very frustrating because my CM/CP and temp rise just don't match up. CM appears to not be fertile after CD 14 and CP is low and firm. Stupid body. And our timing will most likely only be -4 this month because DH did leg day two days ago and is unable to HIO.... I would call BS but I've been there two days after a leg workout where walking is a challenge, so I can't hate on him. But it feels useless this month now. Sorry for all the complaints, it's been that kind of week.
