I thought it might be nice to have a place to share information that we might want to have access to in the future.  If it takes off - maybe we can have the thread pinned.

I just learned that Dr. Thomas Hale is a Ph.D, R.Ph, (Texas Tech University) is the leading researcher in medications secreted in breast milk.  It sounds as though he is one of the the only ones who has actually studied the levels of the medications found in breast milk and then gives a safety rating of L1 - L5 (L1 being the most benign and L5 being the worst.)  His reference books seem to be updated every 2 years.

There is also a hotline that is open Monday - Friday 8am-5pm (CST) if you have questions about the safety of over the counter or prescription medications secreted in breast milk.  Phone number is 806-352-2519.
