Re: RCS so nervous!

  • Sorry for the nerves. The only thing is that first shot, after that it is uphill, meet your new baby time :) I focused on my happy thought - full term happy healthy new baby. Hope that can help a little bit. ((Hugs)).
  • After having my first c-section yesterday, I was feeling pretty sure that I will never go through that again. But now, in the morning, I'm thinking it wasn't as bad. It's just nerves, the pain and all the horrible stuff goes by quickly. Good luck lady!!!

  • I had a RCS 2 weeks ago. It's definitely different than an emergency c section. But I had a great experience. I was calm knowing it wasn't an emergency/hurried thing. The nurses and doctors were great. They even played music in the operating room. Focus on that baby and you'll do fine! Good luck.

My DD was a planned c/s and so is this baby. A planned one is sooooo much different than an emergency one so take comfort in that. It's like your walking in for an appointment to meet your baby. The part I hated and still am a little nervous about was getting the spinal block. They laid me down after and it made me nauseous but soon after DD was born and I focused on her. Good luck tomorrow. You'll do great! :)

  • I have a RCS scheduled for Friday.  Right now I am not nervous and am focusing on the fact that I should be able to have a good nights sleep before the surgery and be alert when my baby is born as opposed to completely wiped out after 30 hours of labor and an emergency c-section like last time.  You'll be fine, OP.  It'll be over before you know it and your LO will be in your arms.

  • I just had my 40 week appointment this morning and found that my blood pressure is high 150/100. DS2 hasn't given any signs that he's coming himself and my doctor will not induce me. I wanted to try for a VBAC but instead I'll be having a rcs tomorrow afternoon as well! Crazy to think I'll be holding DS2 tomorrow, I can't wait!!!

  • I'm having a RCS on Friday at 38 weeks due to high blood pressure (moved up by a week). I can't wait to meet our baby, but also getting a little anxious now about the pain of recovery and about getting a spinal put in. Getting an epidural while in horrible labor pain last time somehow made it seem less scary.  Good luck and happy baby thoughts to everyone this week/weekend!
  • I keep going back and forth - my RCS is scheduled for 6/1 at 41 weeks because I'm VBAC hopeful, but my OB was willing to do it as soon as 39 weeks, so like now. Part of me is really hopeful for a VBAC but part of me would love to skip labor altogether and just walk in tomorrow and have it overwith! Good luck, I hope it goes smoothly and recovery is easy for you! <3

  • I'm going in for my third on Monday. Only thing that makes me nervous is the spinal. I know it will be just fine... but, it is scary!
