@clover28 How old is your son? I don't really have any advice since I've found myself in the same situation with my nearly 2 year old. Sometimes I melt down with him because it can get rough!
He's 14 months. Deep down, I know he's just not ready. He's still a baby and I feel bad for weaning him for my own selfish reasons. It was so hard to get pregnant with him and I know the next won't be easy either (we've had a rough start already). I just feel like quitting breastfeeding will help to jumpstart my crazy cycles. I've always pictured having kids close together and I really think DS would enjoy growing up with a sibling close in age. Alright, this turned into a rant... I apologize.
I understand, I've been working on weaning since my son was about 10 months old, and I got working on night weaning when he was 18 months and it's been a crazy emotional ride.
**edited because I wrote out this long thought out post and TB ate it. Basically I totally feel you, and as hard as this weaning and TTC business is, it's nice to hear we aren't alone
Its really emotional. There's nothing I love more than BFing my son. He's so quiet and calm when he nurses and its the ONE THING i can do for him that no one else can. Once he's done, he's like a tornado... But for the five minutes that he nurses he just looks at me and pats my chest and will give me so many milky smiles. I know he wont remember weaning or really even BFing, but I will.
You ladies perfectly said everything I'm feeling about possibly weaning. I didn't anticipate it being this emotional yet now when she nurses I think "What if this is the last time?" and that thought plus the feel good hormones from nursing leave me a mess.
Cycle/Month: NTNP for a year with no success. I Plan to officially start trying in August.
Number trying for : #2
Rants/Raves: Got a lot of house cleaning done today so I'm feeling pretty good about that.
GTKY: I had a c section the first time so I would love to try for a VBAC. However if I have another c section, I will definitely ask for the curtain to be put down. I didn't with DS and I regret that.
Cycle/Month: 1/1 Number trying for (#2, #3, etc.): #2 Rants/raves:
Hi! This is my first time to check in here! I'm excited to start TTC again. DS is 2.5 and we felt like this is a great time to start trying for a sibling. GTKY- If you could make anything different for your next delivery, what would it be? I hope I can go all natural this time. Last time I was in labor for 21 hours and gave in to the epidural around the 16 hours mark. I also don't want to be induced next time (if my blood pressure can stay under control).
