Re: 5/16 PGAL Check-In
What's Next?: OB appointment in 2 weeks (my office does monthly appointments until 32 weeks)
Rants/Raves/Syptoms: hitting 30 weeks feels like a huge milestone to me! Lower back pain and poor sleep. I'm still a hormonal mess. Everything makes me sad and I cry at the drop of a hat. I'm sure being tired and sore plays a major part in this. I feel terrible for DH because he just wants to help and fix it, but he cant.
GTKY What team are you? Pink/blue/green? Team Blue! I wanted to be team green initially, but DH didn't. I figured there were so many decisions during pregnancy that he wouldn't get a say in, that I could give him that choice. I'm glad we found out

What's Next?: Doctor appointment Thursday. I don't think I have anything special to ask about. I have had this mole near my shoulder that's been bright red for a while now. At first, I thought maybe it was a bra strap rubbing it, or side sleeping position, but I'm not so sure. I figure it's better to ask and be safe!
Rants/Raves/Syptoms: I was convincing myself yesterday baby wasn't moving enough. Friday baby was SUPER active, Saturday average....so when Sunday morning came around and it wasn't squirming like crazy, I was nervous. We were super busy and I read that they say to wait and clue in at least a couple times a day before you jump to any conclusions. The free vanilla bean frappucino Starbucks gave me jump started baby's movements and that eased my concerns. Ugh!! PGAL brain is a nightmare.
GTKY What team are you? Well, we started out Team Green. My poor husband wanted so badly for it to be a surprise. However, our flighty RN on more than one occasion has slipped and said he. And not in a "I call all babies a He" kind of way. Thanks to my CVS test early in the pregnancy, the sex is well noted in our file. So we're 99.9% sure we're Team Blue!

Appointment next Monday, then one more 2 week appointment until I move to weekly. At my appointment last week, my OB said that at my last weekly appointment before my due date (so last week of June) they would strip my membranes to try to get things moving. Then she said they would induce by 41 weeks if I hadn't gone yet. This baby will be here by July 7 for sure. That made everything crazy real.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
I just hurt. Everywhere. But I'm getting ridiculously excited to meet this little man that the days can't go fast enough.
GTKY What team are you? Pink/blue/green?
Blue! Peter Loren. I always thought it would be cool to have a boy first so all my kids would have an older brother, but maybe that's just because I idolized my older brother growing up. Can't wait to see what he looks like!!!
What's Next?: OB appointment on Wednesday, baby shower on 5/28
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I am so freakin' tired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This weekend everything took a lot of effort to do and I'm sick of the swollen ankles. I'm also tired of everyone commenting on them. I know they look awful, get off my back already. I can't help it!!!! Also started to experience sciatic pain again so I've been wearing my belt and that's been working out pretty well. I'm having a hard time sleeping and I'm also trying to keep my feet elevated ALL night long. My nighttime set up is complicated. I have a snoogle but then I have a million pillows at my feet to keep my feet elevated. Now I just feel hot at night.
This weekend we went to a class called, "Tools for an Active Birth" and my husband found it extremely helpful because it basically taught him how to be useful during labor. It just terrified me. I really need to get over this fear of labor, ASAP.
GTKY What team are you? Pink/blue/green? Team Blue! We are so excited. Everyone guessed we were having a girl since the beginning so it was a complete surprise to find out we were having a boy. We would have been thrilled either way but it was such a sweet surprise.

What's next? Follow up with my doctor on the growth scan last week. Next week will be another growth scan. This chunky monkey is up to 98th percentile so my doctor has started talking about the possibilities of him coming sooner than my edd. Maternity photos on Friday, I think I waited too long. I feel huge in a not good way now
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: It was a pretty rough weekend with not enough sleep, heartburn and nausea returning. I'm off today so thankfully I had a morning nap and feel like a whole new woman.
GTKY: Team blue! Super excited to get to see him on the outside 4-8 weeks from now. It's so close!
Lots of love for @MamaBish and Savannah! She's so beautiful
ETA: Maybe you already do this, but I've also found that reading the birth announcements on the other BMBs ahead of us is also reassuring.

What's Next?: Appointments/milestones My next appt is May 26th. Baby is continuing to measure right on track thankfully.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: The swollen ankles and the tops of my feet are bad and are actually kind of scaring/worrying me. Doctor doesn't seem concerned I bring it up every time I go but since all tests (urine and blood pressure) comes back fine at my appointments there's nothing to be concerned about but to me and in my mind this just can't be normal wish I could just believe the doctor. My ankles and calves are also hurting me to when I walk. It's getting harder to bend down and get up and its not so much from my belly but more from me legs actually hurting and feeling weak that I lose my balance. I almost fell over trying shoes on at Macys on Friday lol! That would be have embarrassing.
Speaking of swollen feet and ankles are there any type of shoes that you ladies prefer that are comfortable? I have been wearing ballet flats to work but they have no support and are starting to get tight. My doctor mentioned compression socks but I am already to damn hot and I have been wearing dresses that go to my knees or a little above to work. Not sure how that would look. If I am not at work I wear reef flip flops they seem to be the most comfortable but I can not wear flip flops to work. I am an administrative assistant at a very conservative bank. If I am not sitting answering calls, I am walking back and forth across hard wood floors or standing for periods of times at the copy machine which also doesn't help my cause. Any recommendations would be awesome!
GTKY What team are you? Pink/blue/green? We are team pink. It made my pregnancy feel more real knowing what we were having and giving her a name. DH would have been ok being team green.

@Lynna813 I'm still wearing my Dansko clogs and bought a pair of Toms flats last week that have been amazing. I was worried that they would be like most flats without much support, but I've been finding them extremely comfortable.
In the past I've had good luck with Merril and Keen brands, but no direct experience during pregnancy with them. They have lots of different styles and generally pretty good support.

What's next: I had my last monthly appointment with my midwife Friday and now we are down to every other week. Eek! I was scared to death she was going to freak out about my weight gain (8 lbs since my last appt) but she shocked me by saying she was happy with it and right on track. Phew! She gave me paperwork to order our birth kit (ahhhh) and got my rhogam shot. I cannot believe how close we are getting.
R/R/S: honestly I've been feeling pretty darn good. Aches and pains here and there but nothing like with our DS! By this point I just wanted him OUT OUT OUT! This time I just want to soak up every moment! Really the only negative is being stressed about maternity leave that is coming quickly and we are in a royal nightmare with our rental home we are trying to sell. Just praying things resolve quickly so I can breath!
GTKY: BLUE! Haha I'm an ultrasound tech so waiting was not an option HAHAHA
@lynna813 Compression socks have helped me and they don't make me too hot. I also wear my running shoes with my laces loosened a lot. Otherwise my feet swell a lot too. Anything tight around my feet and not having them elevated just makes it worse at work. Since you work at a bank you may need to find some comfortable flats that are a little extra roomy so that they're not constricting.

What's Next?: Appontments/milestones: Appointment Thursday, I'll have a few questions regarding hospital policies on eating during delivery assuming everything goes to plan.
Rants/Raves/Syptoms: My hips kill me on a regular basis and lately I've started having upper back pain. I've also had some heartburn and nausea. My sleep has gotten better over the weekend since my hubby went and got me mattress topper. Minus the peeing every couple of hours, I've been sleeping like a dream.
GTKY What team are you? Pink/blue/green? We are team Pink! Very excited, we have a little boy and now we'll have a little girl!
Congrats to @Mamabish! Your little angel is absolutely precious!
Thanks randishane011804 and megstervt !!!
Edited to add: I flip my trash can over on its side to try and elevate my feet as much as I can but it really doesn't help. My feet are screaming for help by the time I get home lol. As soon as I get home I soak them in Epsom salt and I put them up on my coffee table with pillows underneath for extra elevation
I also beg DH for a foot rub almost every day.

Appt next week, last weeks was good and my midwife said everything seems to be in tiptop shape for a healthy delivery and baby. She always makes me feel much more confident.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Insomnia is going to be the death of me. Yesterday I woke up at 4:30 and was awake until 7 (and had to get up at 8). I was so tired last night I figured I could sleep better but no, I woke up at 3:30 and was up until 6:30. Added with the vagina knives/kicked in the crotch feeling, heartburn, BH, and being an emotional wreck most of time, I am sure I am delightful to be around right now haha.
Raves: I had my baby shower yesterday and it was amazing. It was great to see everyone and the food was delicious. It felt good that people seemed to genuinely be excited for us.
GTKY What team are you? Pink/blue/green?
Blue!

@TiffRox81 yessss I am afraid the classes will give me even more anxiety! I'm going to start watching those videos so that when we have our class next month it won't shock me so much. I feel so behind! We are doing an all day class 6/25 and I'm truly hoping I'm not cutting it close. Till then lots and lots of labor literature. I need to look at the good and the bad.

chels0120 ha! I tried on a pair of flip flops and they didn't fit; size 8 which is my size...I went home with a size 9 since I needed them badly. I almost had a mini breakdown myself. Thankfully the size 9 fits when my feet decide to blow up
Weville I am going to check those sketchers out! Which sandals do you find the most comfortable? Is there a specific brand? Thanks!!

What's Next?: Baby shower on Saturday. Feeling like a psychological milestone has been passed because we're actually putting together furniture (very slowly...) and getting baby clothes...
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Feet swelling was really bad last week, but I started wearing compression socks and I have to say they really help! Now feeling uncomfortable lying in bed but still able to sleep so I am grateful. Some reflux but doesn't sound as bad as what others are going through. I'm wondering whether baby moved to a transverse position because of the way my belly feels, but my doc last week said that's highly unlikely, she probably just all curled up with head down. She also wasn't worried about the horrible cervix pinch ("vagina knives" sounds about right @stellaluna14). Rave: husband organized a whole day of activities for me on Saturday for my birthday, it was amazing. He surprised me with a prenatal massage (never had one before, it was great!), then we walked in the forest, went out to eat, and made fresh pasta together.
GTKY What team are you? Pink/blue/green?
Pink!
What's next: Scan and all the appointments on Thursday.
R/R/S: PGAL brain continues strong. Also feeling sore and tired (like all of us.)
GTKY: Team Green!
it isn't enough. And some days the baby seems busier than others!! I think it's just so typical for our minds to think the worst, unfortunately.
