Anyone still pregnant, with massive hip pain?

So yesterday, after cleaning the house and going to Target for some things, my left hip just turned on me to the point where I needed my SO's help to hobble back to the house/the rest of the night. Pain is sharp, happens whenever I move my left hip - even if just a little bit. Anyone else? :(

I have sciatica in my left hip. It hurts the most when I'm lying down, which sucks for when I'm trying to rest. I have a back support band/thing that seems to help as my left hip/top of leg also goes numb when I stand for two long. I have found baths and stretching to help.

  • Yep, my hips have mostly been bothering me at night. On Saturday, I kept getting sharp pains in my left hip that made it difficult to walk. It seems to go away and then come back. The pain also seems to shoot up when I sit on the toilet. I've tried to do some stretching, but it hasn't provided much relief.

  • Same here. Too much around the house or shopping lands me in bed. Of course, laying down makes it worse. I do have SI joint laxity, controlled by chiropractic help. But, at this point it's popping and cracking all over!

    Yes, this exactly!! Arrgg!!
  • Thanks ladies - I was getting used to regular hip pain from moving around/getting up - but this was a whole new beast. The lady in my building dismissed it as "engagement pain" and I was like "Oh god, please, if only." but my SO was like "It sounds like nerve pain, you're not to leave this couch."

    Sigh ... pregnancy is glamorous?

  • Yes same here. For me it's the right side - it gets sore when I sleep on it and if I walk too much (did a mile walk yesterday) I hobble like an old lady. Fun times!
  • When I sleep my hips ache. When I do too much housework my back aches.

  • Yes, Epsom salt baths help me before bed so I can sleep!

    Yep. This.

Yeah, I get this when sleeping - especially if there is no pillow between my knees (sometimes I kick it away in my sleep). The pillow doesn't totally get rid of it but definitely helps a bit.
  • Yeah, too much of anything makes my hips hurt like crazy (and it turns out that too much = not very much).

And @saraleigh2 I'm impressed you can still do baths - or maybe you just have a better one than I do. Last time I tried a couple weeks ago, I realized I don't really fit lying on my side, and lying on my back has a very short lifespan and when I needed to get up to adjust the water or get out or do anything, it was a monumental effort. It made me really sad - otherwise I'd be in the bath every day!
