1st Trimester

"Waiting game"...

Good morning...if you could call it that.

First pregnancy, first potential loss. Between 5 - 6w, I was experiencing mild cramping and spotting, sleeplessness, frequent urination, but I still felt good and that it was all normal. On the day of my 6w mark (Wednesday), everything took a turn while at work, the mild cramping became so sever I couldn't sit up or stand. The spotting had turned to blood, albeit still not a lot, bright, red blood. My mom rushed me to the OB where they did an U/S, but things were inconclusive. My doc could see the yolk sac, but not much else at this early stage. The idea of miscarriage or ectopic preg were mentioned, but I was in so much pain physically and emotionally, the appointment was a blur. I was sent for blood work that day and back again today to monitor my hcg levels but aside from that, there's nothing for me to do right now.

I can't help but be realistic about the situation and prepare myself for the worst, but I really don't want to think that negatively. I spent all of yesterday resting, managing pain and crying. Today I feel better, but something is still off and I don't know if it's b/c I am going thru a MC or I'm not in my right mind. Has anyone here gone thru what they believed to be a MC but it turned out to be normal or eventually completely OK?

I'm just finding ways to cope since I probably won't know anything for sure until after the weekend :/ . Talking (or typing) about it helps and since no one really knows about this pregnancy, I don't have many people to talk to. Thanks in advance <3

Re: "Waiting game"...

  • 1. Please search the boards and join your BMB (Birth Month Board), this board is borderline zombie so you won't get many responses.

    2. As many women on other BMB's stated, some had positive some had negative outcomes. How the heck did your Ob/Gyn say it looks like an ectopic when he saw a yolk sac??

    3. Type in "subchorionic hemorrhage" into the search function and you will see lots and lots of discussion on the topic.
