Yesterday I noticed I have 1 blood pin dot on my belly, today I look and I have another, what's this from? Can I prevent it? Has anyone had them go away?
Hey @acain20 - those spots are called "petechiae" (pronounced pa-tiki eye) and are small blood vessels that have burst. No need to worry at all! I've had them my entire life and have gotten so many more of them during pregnancy. Some will fade with time, some won't. Like I said, I've always had them and at last count had around 30-40 on various places on my body. The worst one I've got during pregnancy is in the dead center of my forehead - no joke. And I have a small scattering of them on my neck that looks like a rash.
Unfortunately you can't do anything to get rid of them, they will either go away on their own or not.
Just wanted to add that keeping your skin moisturized can help with these. I tend to get them when I scratch my skin.

@acain20 - assuming these are what you are talking about. The first picture is of one on my stomach. The second is of the spattering of them on my neck. During pregnancy they're caused by increased blood flow.
I got them horribly through my pregnancy with dd and have them again this pregnancy. Almost all of them went away as soon as I was done being pregnant. I do have a horrible one just below my eye that never went away and is pretty big. I'll probably see what they can do about that one once I'm done having babies.
I have 3 small ones too. My friend said she got them when she was pregnant and they went away after she had the baby! I was freaking out when I first noticed them!
