Anybody catch a cold yet?

My husband got sick last week, and despite not kissing him, Lysoling everything he touched, washing all the bedding/clothes... I am now sick. 

I am not sure how to prevent my son from getting sick, too. I'm obviously not kissing him, and I'm cleaning his things more often, but I can't avoid touching the baby. He and I spend all day together and I'm the only option. 

Has anybody had a cold yet? What did you do? Did baby get sick?

DH & I both got a virus when DD was a week old. I was sick for close to a week & DH a few days, but neither DS or DD got sick.

I'm currently sick with a terrible cold. So far little man has yet to catch it. If you breastfeed they say you pass on antibodies to them which could prevent them from getting sick.

It's rare that I've passed on colds to my babies. I've found that bfing has really prevented that. The only cold early on that I can remember was with DS1. I had to Heimlich him twice because he was choking on snot, and DH was out of state at a conference. Not fun.

Yes I am just getting over a yucky cold. LO did not catch it really but did have a bit of a stuffy nose, although nothing preventing him from breathing properly or eating.  I had a bad stomach flu with my older son when he was 3 weeks and he did not catch it at all. I really do believe breastfeeding helped with providing antibodies in both cases! I hope you feel better soon @Missingchampagne

My DH had something 2 weeks ago and LO caught it Guess BFing is only beneficial in preventing them from catching it if IM the one that's sick? Although you'd think it would be a greater defense regardless.

OMG it was horrible! My husband, toddler and I got some kind of respiratory virus after baby's first week out and now three weeks later I'm starting to finally get better. We could not stop coughing and it was the longest I've been sick for a long time. Thankfully the baby didn't get sick.
