I am looking for recommendations for backpack style diaper bags that are big enough to hold baby's stuff & a 2yr old's. I would rather not spend an arm & a leg but I also don't want to make myself crazy with a crappy bag. Suggestions please!
I am looking into the Ju Ju Be Be Right Back backpack. Haven't seen it in person so I don't know how it compares to my Fisher Price backpack. My Fisher Price one is tearing so if I spend $140 for the Ju Ju Be one then it better last much longer!

I mentioned this on the other diaper bag thread but I just bought one from Little Unicorn and I love it!! The style is Marindale. The best part was it was only $90 (which was relatively inexpensive compared to some other brands). Its not super girly so my husband doesn't mind carrying it around. I don't know how roomy it is compared to other brands as its a little narrow but it has a bunch of compartments and will work for us with a toddler and newborn.
@justaudrey I love that!! I've been looking for a backpack diaper bag, and the ones that are similar looking to this (less diaper baggy, more classic) are all over $200. Thanks for the link!
@justaudrey I love that! We have a petunia pickle bottom one that I got at the semi-annual nordstroms sale several years ago. The sale is coming up again so maybe check that out. I honestly didn't end up using my diaper bag a ton because I never wanted to carry purse, diaper bag and baby. But it is a nice design with decent storage.
@bananers I've been eyeing the same one. I love that you can use as a messenger bag, backpack, or single handle. I would like to hang it from my stroller if I can keep it light and from being tippy, we'll see.
And the pattern is perfection! Amazon has the best price on it. Love!
@No more Miss! And @bananers check out Buy Buy Baby and Bed Bath and Beyond. They carry some JuJuBe and you can use their 20% off coupons as well. We got ours from Bed Bath and Beyond with 20% off and free shipping so it ended up being a lot cheaper than on Amazon.

One of the things I loved about our diaper bag with DS is that it had little straps to hang from the stroller handle. It was so nice to just snap it on then not have to carry it, or dig down in the basket underneath the get something out. I want something different this time just to mix it up, and I'm having a hard time finding one I like with the attachment straps...but they are requirement for me!
I HAVE COMMITMENT ISSUES TO A FKING DIAPER BAG. Yes, this is exactly why I am holding off on packing my hospital bag (34 wks this wk).
Past hour looking up reviews from mommies all over YouTube & still no decision:
"Are you kidding me right now?" "Nope. I can't commit."
I'm now talking to myself like a crazy person.
DH made it clear he wants a backpack so I'm going to agree on a backpack diaper bag.
I like Newlie bags because they have insulated pockets and they don't look like diaper bags. However, I don't like their backpack version.
I cannot be convinced to spend a fortune on Lily Jade Madeline. It's everywhere on Pinterest and blogs. For the price, you don't even get insulated pockets. Pass!
Then there's Little Unicorn. I love their design but not much review on their backpack version. This seems like a happy medium. It's reasonably priced for the space and storage options. I don't think there are insulated pockets but I'm sure I can buy insulated pods(?) or something to put in the backpack. It looked really spacious.
Honest Co. backpack is not crazy expensive but compared to the price, why does it look so cheap?! I don't even think it's real leather. It does have insulated compartment. How important is the insulation part anyway to a diaper bag?
Decisions, decisions. I'm going to order one soon because time is running out.
So far, leaning on Little Unicorn's backpack version.
@AliKay20 this is why if I can't make a decision after a few minutes I stop thinking about it for a while. I did this with DHs birthday present and now I finally ordered it I'll be lucky to get it in time.
@AliKay20 I love my little unicorn backpack. No insulated pockets. I was definitely hesitant due to lack of reviews but I've had it for several months and it works perfectly for us. It is a little narrow but I haven't had any issue on space. Plus it looks cool and super neutral.
I just got a Fawn Design diaper bag to get ready for my second and I love it! It's got backpack straps and a messenger strap and is just beautiful. They are sold out all the time, though!
@bananers - I saw a girl at work carrying that the other day! If I had not stalked so many diaper bags I wouldn't have realized it wasn't a diaper bag. It does sit really low on your back and its pretty boxy as a backpack but its super cute and thats kinda the style now.

I did it. I finally did it. Pulled the trigger and ordered it tonight. DH was so picky and LU Marindale seemed to best please his eye. The padded straps helped too.
As for insulated pockets, we'll be getting some JuJuBe accessories to put in this bag. We learned a thing or two about that brand after watching lots of Youtube vlogs on diaper bag reviews.
DH goes, "why do you need a booty pod that is a cover to put into your diaper bag pouch? Why can't you just put the wet ones directly in the pouch? Pocket within a pocket seems pointless."
We will shortly find out why mamas carry different pouches to put in the bag pouches. I def get the wet bag though.

We got this in black and are loving the way it looks. At first I was worried that it would not hold much but wow, it's got a really nice deep space overall.
Question: Is it recommended that I wash the bag first before packing? I wiped it down with baby wipes and left it to air dry. Then I "mock" packed what to bring for baby to hospital and all of the things have been washed so I just hope they maintain that fresh just washed/clean smell over the next few weeks.
Otherwise, I'd take the stuff out and try to handwash the bag...thoughts?!
@AliKay20 I definitely didn't read the care instructions lol DD ripped them up before I could see through the booklet. I didn't wipe anything down but I haven't had any problems so far! Isn't it so super cute though??
Super cute indeed! I just put two or three drops of Dreft mixed in with warm water and wiped the inside of it. Smells better now and I just feel much better putting baby's things in the bag. It's a mental thing, lol.
Lurking from September. I'm getting the Jujube BFF in that anchor print. Amazon has an option for about $20 more you can order a set with a paci pod and be quick. I plan on keeping all my diaper/changet of clothes stuff in there so I don't have to take the whole bag to change baby if we're out to eat or something. I also have the 3pc set to keep an extra set of just in case clothes for my potty trained 3yr old.

Love!
We are registered for an Eddie Bauer grey backpack from target. More for SO, I already got a large Vera Bradley baby bag for myself.
