Mucus plug

I'm a STM and don't remember when it happened last time but I just lost probably my whole mucus plug tonight. It was the size of a quarter and very thick. I've been losing little pieces for about a week so I feel like that was all of what was left. Has anyone else lost theirs yet? 

I'm 29 weeks today.

This is my third pregnancy and I didn't loose my mucus plug with either of my previous baby's or at least I didn't notice it. From what I've read in the past it can really go anytime though

I suggest calling your doctor. I'm not a medical professional, but 29 weeks seems very early for that to happen. You can lose your plug and not go into labor for weeks, but most docs threshold is around 36 to intervene and stop preterm labor.

I lost mine about 37 weeks with DS

Nope, call your doc to let them know you suspect it's come out and follow their advice. It could potentially indicate premature labor and part of its role is to reduce the chances of a bacterial infection so it's good to let your care provider know what's up

I have a Dr appt Thursday so they will check me then. As long as I don't feel pain I won't make an appt to go tomorrow as squeeze in appts usually have you sitting there for at least an hour and a half before you are even called back. I just thought it seemed quite early to be losing my plug

I wouldn't wait until Thursday to talk to them. What's the harm in calling and letting them know what's bothering you? And seriously? You won't because of a small wait? It's your baby. If you have a concern talk to your doc.

It's early... But it may not have been your actual mucus plug... Discharge is very common further along in pregnancy so it may have just been that

You can't call and leave a message for your nurse? If you are concerned enough to ask a bunch of Internet strangers, you should call. 

I also agree with discharge. Things get messy down there.

Also, mucus plugs can regenerate until 36 or so weeks. I suggest calling and seeing what they say. 

Also, thank you for not posting a picture of said plug.

Yes thank you for not posting a picture not much to add as they all said it very well. I'd call there is no harm in it and better to be safe rather than sorry later on

You're supposed to call your doctor if you loose that before an apt or if it comes out before it's supposed to, because getting an infection sounds like super fun time. Also, this would be a symptom, so please put all of this next time in a symptom thread and don't clutter the main board.

So pretty much you came here to say, hey I lost this but I'm going to talk to my dr about it in 2 days regardless of the fact that my cervix now may be an open area to bacteria and a danger to my baby? That's a cool story.

I didn't ask a question to be put down. I did call today and let them know but like I said I'm not having any symptoms such as cramps or bleeding. It deffinitly was my mucus plug. It does somewhat look like the blob fish. Its like a big blob of clearish white to pinkish jelly sort of like frog eggs. I just wanted to know if anyone else lost theirs yet.

I didn't think I could be more grossed out by mucus plugs until fish eggs happened.

No one was insulting you. While disapproval of your flimsy excuse for not wanting to go to the doctor due to wait time, over something that should be a major red flag was communicated (and quite effectively), no one was verbally abusing you. Our criticism came from a concern over your early signs of possible premature labor. Tough love does not equal insults.
