RCS

any repeat c sections moms done already? I'm scheduled for next Thursday and I'm so nervous! Positive RCS stories are highly appreciated :)

Re: RCS

  • I had a repeat c section 8 days ago. It was different than an emergency c section with my first. Just a different experience walking into the OR. I wasn't nervous. More worried about my husband fainting. But I had a great team of doctors. It was quick. My recovery was/is very easy. I was discharged 28 hours after having LO. I felt great after surgery and was eager to get up and walk. Good luck with your's!

I am currently in the hospital after a rcs. It wasn't bad at all. The only "bad" thing was the feeling when numb your back, after that happy times are ahead when you meet your perfect little baby and get all those baby cuddles and snuggles. I focused on that. It helped!

I also had a c-section birth plan that was important to me. Small things like skin to skin asap (I even got this in the OR).

I am not a fan of hospitals and can't wait to leave so I focus on the baby, walking the halls, staying hydrated, getting out of bed as soon as they let me, and knowing this too shall pass.
  • I had my first rcs two years ago and my next one is tomorrow!  They are so much easier than after being in active labor!  Recovery will feel much better but make sure to still take it easy! Good luck :)

The only thing that makes me nervous is mainly the spinal, I think when that's over I'll be okay. I will be taking your advice and thinking about meeting my baby and cuddling.. I'm sure it'll help. Thank you!
  • Definitely gets easier each time! Make sure you take your pain meds before you are painful...that's my advice!
