To be added to the Weekly Checkin, please answer the following:
1. How long have you been TTC?
2. What is your diagnosis?
3. What is your current treatment plan?
QOTW: When you eat a piece of gum, do you crumple the wrapper or do you fold it neatly before throwing it away? (I was told by a professional interviewer that it actually provides insights into personality types, go figure. I'll tell you what he said about it next week)
I had IUI #3 yesterday and I've been cramping and spotting ever since. Unfortunately it was our lowest sperm count yet. Still trying to remain hopeful and think that maybe all my follicles made up for it. Yesterday was rough for us and we were both so depressed all day. Feeling a little better today, and trying to remind myself that we have an amazing opportunity to participate in a clinical trial for IVF after this if we are unsuccessful.
I crumple my gum wrapper. Can't wait to find out what that says about my personality!

I am currently in the TWW window at 5 dpo. This was the first month I fully charted my cycles and not just opks. My temp said I ovulated sooner then the positive opk's. So hopefully we didn't miss O. If we did we are gonna try 1 more month then move onto IUI.
I started Clomid last night...first round RE has me at 100 mg for CD 3-7 and then I have a follow up appointment with him on 05/19 to see how my body is reacting

I'm in the home stretch of my TWW at 12dpiui. I've had some wicked cramps and twinges, and they're driving me nuts. I've managed not to POAS once in the past two weeks --a huge feat for me! I think the waiting has been messing with my mind, though. For three days straight, I've had dreams about POAS lol. In the first, af showed up just as I was going to test. The second dream showed a bfn...but in the dream I was confident that it was too early, so it didn't count. Final dream (last night) I POAS and the test not only was a BFP, but it also told me it was with quads! How a test would know that is beyond me lol I'm losing it, guys!
Oh, and I am definitely a gum wrapper folder. It always ends up folded into a small square. Unless table football is involved. Then it's balled up :-)
@wifeinraleigh28 I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for you! I'm sorry you guys had such a rough and depressing day yesterday, but maybe knowing you have the IVF trial will let your body relax a little more this cycle and accept the IUI process!
I am on CD 5 today. My new RE so far is fantastic. Already providing us with way more information and options. I went in for repeat CD 3 bloodwork and they did an ultrasound this time. And will continue to monitor this cycle just to see how my body works on it's own. He also said my DH's sperm motility was a little low which we have never heard before. So we are 3 for 3. Low count, low motility and low morphology. He said his count was borderline though and we would be good candidates for IUI. DH is anxious and wants to get started with one right away and he wants to do the more extreme meds immediately as well. we go in at the end of this cycle for a follow up and a decision making time.
QOTW- I tend to fold... several times over. I am a fiddler and my fingers always seem to be needing to do something.
@Plainjanie Thank you for the kind words. That's wonderful that you like your RE and it sounds like you are getting right down to it. Congrats!
@LadyMillil This is really funny but just this morning I saw the gif in your siggy from Gilmore Girls and then happened to watch the episode that it's in within an hour. @ladymilil so sorry things did not work out for you this cycle.
Good luck to everyone with their various treatments etc!
I have started using OPKs this week as well as my saliva microscope. I had a very close positive OPK this morning and this evening, it is a new brand of IC OPKs. I tested it against another cheapie brand and it wasnt even a close positive. When I use these up I am sticking to Wondfos! Anyway, I really hope I turn an OPK positive although with my PCOS I know I may get positives that don't mean ovulation. I had a whole string of positive OPKs in November of last year, I really thought for a few days I was gearing up to ovulate, and it was a total let down. We are doing our best to BD EOD. As for the gum question, I can't chew gum because I have TMJ

Currently, I'm 8 dpiui....I have felt just fine since procedure; just patiently waiting for the weekend. Technically, I could test with frpt this weekend with accurate results since af is due anytime after Thursday (but I'm sure it won't come until Monday or Tuesday since ovulation was a little later this cycle) I haven't exactly decided if and when I'll test....I have always envisioned that I'd finally find out on a weekend....I couldn't keep it together if I finally got BFP then have to go to work....lol
QOTW: I always crumple by gum wrapper....and I chew alot of gum. I'm curious to find out what it means!
Hi ladies, I'm CD 9. My RE upped my clinic to 100mg this cycle & I go in for an u/s tomorrow. This will be my last clomid cycle so I'm hoping this is the one that works!

I'm waiting for O. I finished my third round of Clomid on the 9th. Just realized that my cycle started on the first so my CD matches the date! Lol! This cycle the Clomid is causing me intense anxiety and bad headaches. Although the headaches might just be sinuses. The anxiety is unbearable at times. I've started writing in my journal that I had a few years ago when I was super depressed, and it helped me get through that time so I'm hoping it helps me through this too. Anyway. I am on the cusp of panic daily about not ovulating this cycle. I know, everyone keeps telling me to take it easy and not worry. But I have never ovulated and I can't help worrying that I'm not capable.
QOTW: When you eat a piece of gum, do you crumple the wrapper or do you fold it neatly before throwing it away? It depends. If I'm driving or in a rush I crumple it. If I'm sitting there and I have time I fold it neatly. Folding it neatly is immensely more satisfying.

@Mythril I had crazy anxiety on Clomid too. I started seeing my therapist again to help take the edge off and it helped. It also helped know it was the drugs and not real if that makes sense. I hope you start feeling better soon!
Had our follow up appointment this morning and we have to decide between doing IVF or continue IUI but switch from Clomid to injectables. We are leaning towards IVF but we still need to discuss it all. I'm feeling hopeful after meeting with the RE.
As as for the gum wrapper I think I crumple it up and throw it away. I haven't had gum in so long that I'm not even sure that's right haha.

Hello everyone! I haven't "checked in" in a long time because, well, not a lot has gone on that is super exciting. We have officially hit the one year mark of TTC. I got my official diagnosis of Congenital adrenal hyperplasia, which is an endocrine system disorder that causes me to have annovulation as well as no cycles. Haven't had a cycle since December (keep in mind I only get them when I am prescribed medicine like provera anyway). My husband got tested for the disorder I have and he is not a carrier, woo. I was put on the steroid prednisone 2 months ago. Since then my problem hormone, 17 Hydroxy progesterone has went from 555 to normal. High is considered anything over 74. So woo again! I'm supposed to get a cycle on my own now that my hormones are correct for the first time in my life. However if I do not,my RE said I could probably start provera followed by the lovely clomid in June!

Af seems to be on her way for me, but has just been spotting so far. I'm thinking since my thyroid levels were so off that may have screwed with my cycle, but then again I have had light periods in the past. Hoping for my thyroid test next week to come back with good numbers! This week has been a bit rough, I ended up calling out sick Tues due to feeling depressed and worn down thinking too much about this infertility stuff, and then last night had more mood swings...thankfully DH is very patient and helped calm me down, but I know he is having trouble with all the disappointments lately too. Thank goodness the weekend is almost here, and I'm hoping next week we'll both be feeling more sane :P
QOTW: I don't usually chew gum, but I think I've done both...
@Ducks&Cats I have TMJ too! I got due to complications after getting my wisdom teeth out. It used to be worse, but it's still annoying when it flares up.

Update: I am currently at 6dpiui in the 2WW and trying soooo hard not to symptom spot, especially because I am taking Progesterone.....but it is soo hard. I had a few symptoms suddenly onset today and it is doing crazy things to my mind, but this is also the first time we have actually made it to the 2WW. Currently counting down the days until the 24th and I keep debating with myself if I should POAS before I go in for my blood test on the 24th. Our 10 year anniversary is on the 21st and my birthday is the 29th, so I'm trying not to let a negative test (possibly) ruin those days for us.
Good luck to everyone this week!!

We're WTO probably ovulating in the next few days here. I think we've decided to start IUI's in August; we have so many travel plans for the summer, that we wanted to wait until we were back from that.
I'm super annoyed, my pap came back abnormal this week, so I have to go in for a colp (decided to do it during WTO next month, instead of my TWW this month). In better news, I'm finally getting progesterone & prolactin tested this month; going in on the 23rd for that so FX its normal OR something that could potentially be treated and make a difference for us.
I'm a wrapper folder; though it's been a long time since I've chewed gum.

Sorry about the abnormal pap @ReesaAnne16. I've had a few of those myself. I'm sure the colposcopy will be fine since it's usually nothing. In fact, my OB said the rules are changing to doing paps every 3 years instead of ever year, even if you have a history of abnormal paps. I guess statistics show that even with abnormal paps, usually the issue resolves itself. I guess they felt that they were doing a lot of unnecessary testing. GL with your decision to start IUIs in August!

Diagnosis: premature ovarian aging... Recently found out I have empty follicle syndrome, I dunno if that really is a diagnosis, but I heard the doctors talking about while they were doing my IVF retrieval and I was under a bit of sedation. Only retrieved 6 eggs, 3 fertilized, 1 transferred. The other 2 didn't make it to freeze, and bfn before beta. Started my period 4 days before beta. What a shitty IVF experience. Nothing went well for us. And my spouse has MFI, mainly a morphology issue. Great! More to add to our complex equation. But we keep trucking on!
Treatment plan: follow up appointment with Doctor decided to try something new. Doctor suggested femara. My spouse and I have been taking supplements to improve egg quality/sperm quality. So we are underway with femara cycle 1 this cycle, on cd 23, 8dpo. Had a 27mm dominant follicle during my cd 15 ultrasound. Felt good on femara, just had loads of ovulation cramping. Makes sense given the size of my dominant follicle. But now I feel good. Progesterone blood work on cd 22 was 42. Yay! Good ovulation. Now if only we caught the egg, let's hope so. Treating myself to massage tomorrow, I can't wait!
So tried clomid - lots of side effects, 6 cycles bfns. IVF = absolute shit show, and now working backwards with femara with TI. We could try iui with femara... maybe we will have to go that route eventually.
I definately fold the wrapper, neatly before tossing it away!

Hello I am new and I am hoping to find some support from a group of ladies who share possibly some of what I am going through. I am 34 and have been TTC for 1 year now. I did not know until last month that my AMH was .35! I was shocked but it made sense as to why we had not gotten pregnant and had been trying. Since then my OB put me on my first cycle of Clomid 50 mg and scanned my follicles and on a Friday found 2 that they were at 15mm and so he had me come back on that Monday and those 2 follicles were now standing straight up and were measuring at 25 mm! I was in quite a bit of pain I must say but he told me that I would ovulate this month. Since then he referred us to an RE. He is now wanting to do an IUI with stimulation as they are stating that I responded well to the Clomid cycle. Has anyone ever gotten pregnant with an AMH as low as mine with just stimulation and an IUI?
Also I just throw the wrapper in the trash crumpled up lol!!!

QOTW: I always crumple by gum wrapper....and I chew alot of gum. I'm curious to find out what it means!
No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion
Clomid 50;100;150;200: No O
TSH 3.75 Put on 50mg levothyroxine
1500 MG Metformin
7.5 MG Letrozole: No Follicles
9 MG Letrozole: 21mm Follicle no pregnancy
4 cycles at 9 MG Letrozole, No pregnancy
Good luck @lablover78 @wifeinraleigh28
Had our follow up appointment this morning and we have to decide between doing IVF or continue IUI but switch from Clomid to injectables. We are leaning towards IVF but we still need to discuss it all. I'm feeling hopeful after meeting with the RE.
As as for the gum wrapper I think I crumple it up and throw it away. I haven't had gum in so long that I'm not even sure that's right haha.

@Ducks&Cats I have TMJ too! I got due to complications after getting my wisdom teeth out. It used to be worse, but it's still annoying when it flares up.

@LadyMillil - Sorry to hear that this cycle did not work out! Sending love over to you!
@Plainjanie - So glad you like your new RE! Things are sounding so promising for you!

@Mythril - It is awful what this whole process can trigger for us, I really hope that you do O this month! GL!
@Worldtravler0522 - So many hard decisions to make, GL at your meeting with the RE!
@SummerBrooke13 - Hoping you get your cycle on your own! If not...I am in the same boat...only get a cycle with Provera! So frustrating sometimes!
@meli123k - IF is so draining on MH! Hope you are taking care of yourself, and I'm sending lots of positive vibes and love to you!
@harleyquinn0621 - GL with your Clomid cycle!
@Inge Molon - I hope your dream comes true! My MIL just told me she dreamt that I had triplets, so I am hoping that these dreams are a good sign!!
QOTW - I fold it neatly. Every time.

@ReesaAnne16 I think progesterone is an easy fix...my levels are low so they have me use a cream the entire 2ww. GL this cycle!
No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion

@lablover78 UGH hot flashes and 90 degree weather. Not looking forward to that! Hope I am get a BFP before then... ugh. Not even willing to hope yet. But I hope your clomid works!
@Ducks&Cats OMG yes! I usually get "stop being a pessimist" but it's a valid concern! I don't have a saliva microscope but I feel like I would always be checking because it sounds cool.
@StephyM89 I know I'm like 6 days late replying but congratulations on your TWW! I am not sure if it's weird to congratulate that but when I get to the stage I will be so ecstatic, so I'm sharing that excitement with you! *breaks out the pom poms*
