I am starting to get back pain, and pain around the belly area whenever I have to be on my feet for long. I was looking at support belts online, and there are several different designs out there. Can anyone recommend one that worked for them? I am looking for one that is effective (duh), comfortable, and doesn't show under clothing.
You may want to talk to your OB about it. I did and was about to get one for free from them at one of my appointments. The nurse was able to show me how to use it as well.
The one the OB gave me was horribly uncomfortable. I ended up buying the Upsie Belly - it's pricey, but totally worth it. I also like the fact it comes with an ice pack for post partum.
I use a Gabrialla for running, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it for just wearing. Its great for high impact activity but not so much for life.
I think motherhood maternity has a pretty flexible support belt that some people use for workouts though. I've heard its comfortable but not really for high impact activity. This might be a good option.
I got one from PT recommended by my ob, and I got what is called a pregnancy corset. Used one with my son 6 years ago and loved it, and I love it now. And it's covered by insurance! Try your doc first, they had a few options to try on depending on what kind of support you want or need.
