I call them nothing. Lol. I've avoided calling my mother in law by anything ever since we got married. When I want her attention I just say whatever it is. My FIL passed away.
I don't want to call her mom and I feel like it's rude to call her by her first name.

We aren't in contact with DH's family at the moment, but I used Mom and Dad. My parents are old fashioned and it would have hurt them if DH didn't use that for them, and I felt it was only fair to return the favor.
My husband calls my mom "mom" but I call his mom by her first name. His dad passed away a couple of years ago but I called him by his first name as well. I'm not/was not very close with my IL's but we've lived with my mom and step-dad on and off since we started dating 8 years ago so SO is pretty close to them.
I find it interesting that our parents generation called their ILs mom and dad and our generation is more on board with first names. I also wonder how this shapes our kids. As a kid I always called my friends' parents Mr and Mrs but now I introduce myself to my kids' friends as my first name. I never want to be called Mrs...
When I refer to them, I refer to them by first name, Fran and Bill, or, if talking to my husband or SIL, either "Your mom" or "your dad."
When talking to either of them, I have taken to saying "Granny" or "Grandpa," because they've waited a really long time to be grandparents, and they like it.
I don't call them "mom" or "dad," because I got married at 37, so they've been my inlaws for a relatively short time and I didn't know them most of my adult life. If I'd known them since I was young, or something, maybe.
My FIL refers to himself alternately as either "The old bastard," or "the old son-of-a-bitch," lol. Probably not so LOL when my kid starts repeating it, but, oh, well. They have a good relationship.
