Drinking

So my lo is eating some finger foods and chucky babyfood no problem but drinking is another story. She is still on nb nipple speed. Anything faster she chokes and sounds like she's drowning. Is this a big problem? Last doc visit they didn't seem worried but she didn't eat chunky food yet

Re: Drinking

  •  I would say it takes them about two or three days to get used to the new flow.  I don't know how long you tried the next step up? I just pay super close attention feed him where he's more in an upright position.  I wouldn't say there's anything to worry about.  We aren't doing finger foods or chunky food yet! Choaking is my biggest fear! I know infant Heimlich maneuver but I pray I never have to use it. My LO doesn't make a chew motion when eating his stage one food yet.

  • It took our LO a week or so to get the hang of a faster nipple (that was a few months ago). We just tried to be mindful to ease up on the bottle if he couldn't handle it. We'd give him breaks, etc.
