2 - What's Up Next? Appointments, milestones, etc
Just regular appointments every two weeks from here on out. Got my Tdap shot this week, man my arm was sore! My doctor didn't say anything about it, but the informational handout they gave me about the shot said anyone who has close contact with a newborn should get the booster shot. Are you guys asking LOs dads/family members to get the shot?
3 - Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Gross, but crazy discharge the past couple weeks. It got to the point that I was concerned it was amniotic fluid leaking, but I don't think it was consistent with what I read about that, so I'm hoping it's just typical pregnancy grossness. Sleeping and walking hurt. I'm ready to love this baby on the outside. Though the big crazy kicks have been fun this week. He's been sticking his foot out so far I feel like I can almost grab it! So funny.
4 - Add in question: Do you have any kind of animal/theme etc that represents your angels for you? Any reason why those things? Are you using those in any way in regards to decoration/theme etc for LO?
Not really, though I have an angel teddy bear that I kept with my baby stuff that I had accumulated with all of my pregnancies/losses. Since all my losses were before 10wks, I never really got enough time to "know" each baby enough to have a good memory to attach to them individually. I have thought of doing something with birthstones of either their due date months or the months they went to heaven, but I don't know.
5 - GTKY: (Since we are obsessed with music here, I thought that may be a fun way to go) What are some of your favorite bands? Do you have any special songs for your angels or LO now? Or maybe know a song your mom had for you?
I like a lot of random stuff, The Classic Crime is my favorite band and Francesca Battistelli is my favorite singer/songwriter. I've listened to both since early high school, so their songs always bring me to different times and memories from the past 10 years. The song that got me through miscarriages and thus always makes me think of my angel babies is 'Wait' by Jason Castro. I don't necessarily have a song for this LO, but I'm sure I will associate something with him at some point.

2 - What's Up Next? Appointments, milestones, etc - My last 4 week appt is next Thursday! So excited! Scheduled maternity photos for May 29th and scheduled Meet the Baby 3D/4D ultrasound for May 28th.
3 - Rants/Raves/Symptom's: Feeling my little princess a lot more. She was super active this weekend which makes one happy momma. I also feel her poke out of my belly have no idea what I am feeling though but it's pretty cool! Acid Reflux and Heartburn while I sleep keeps me up for hours
4 - Add in question: Do you have any kind of animal/theme etc that represents your angels for you? Any reason why those things? Are you using those in any way in regards to decoration/theme etc for LO? Just like previous poster said "never really got enough time to know my angel baby" my loss was early on at 11 weeks. I think about what could have been often. I nicknamed baby "sweet pea" because my first ultra sound that was babies size.
5 - GTKY: (Since we are obsessed with music here, I thought that may be a fun way to go) What are some of your favorite bands? Do you have any special songs for your angels or LO now? Or maybe know a song your mom had for you? I am a country music fan. My special song for my princess is "Always stay Humble and Kind" by Tim McGraw. I cried the first time I heard it and knew it was the perfect song for her and now find myself singing it to her. Not sure about my mom she always loved to sing and I am sure she sang to me often. But I remember vividly my dad singing "Elvis - You're so young and beautiful" it was also our Daddy/Daughter dance. He was so touched that I remembered!

@winnie1122 yes I'm asking everyone who will be spending any time with us to get the vaccine. This includes MH, his parents, my parents and my family. Luckily I think almost everyone has it anyways so it's not a huge deal. But, if they don't want to get the shot they won't be spending time with us until after LO is vaccinated, this is actually the one thing I'm being very firm about as whooping cough cases in my area are common.

2 - What's Up Next? Appointments, milestones, etc: Had an OB check-in this morning. Measuring right on track and heartbeat sounded good. I gained 5 pounds this month which finally puts me at +2 pounds for the pregnancy since I lost so much initially. My doctor doesn't start every 2 week appointments until 32 weeks so I have to wait another month to see them again.
3 - Rants/Raves/Symproms: Visiting the hospital tonight as part of our birth class which I'm VERY excited about. I've been feeling pretty good. Still sick in the morning, some sciatica here and there and trouble sleeping (apparently LO and/or my body think 3:30am is party time) but I really can't complain.
4 - Add in question: Do you have any kind of animal/theme etc that represents your angels for you? Any reason why those things? Are you using those in any way in regards to decoration/theme etc for LO? No. I think of that pregnancy often, but since my loss was so early I see it as a pregnancy and not a baby. Maybe this is just my way of coping with the loss.
5 - GTKY: (Since we are obsessed with music here, I thought that may be a fun way to go) What are some of your favorite bands? Do you have any special songs for your angels or LO now? Or maybe know a song your mom had for you? I listen to either NPR or Top 40 radio, no real favorites. I do sing "my favorite things" from Sound of Music to LO each day and I think that will be part of the bedtime routine.

2 - What's Up Next? Appointments, milestones, etc
I have an appointment tomorrow. Nervous about weight check in, ugh. Lots and lots of movement which makes me happy except for when its 3 am and I'm trying to sleep!!! Other than that so excited that we are getting closer and closer!
3 - Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Also in the discharge camp. Just uncomfortable. I'm also soooooo tired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why? I never got that 2nd trimester boost of energy! Just tired. And I don't have the nesting bug. I just want to lay down.
4 - Add in question: Do you have any kind of animal/theme etc that represents your angels for you? Any reason why those things? Are you using those in any way in regards to decoration/theme etc for LO?
Not really, but that probably was a good idea! Our nursery theme is elephants because in my family they symbolize strength, wisdom and good luck. My husband's father passed away a few years ago and his favorite bird was an egret so every time we see one, we are reminded of him. My husband is looking for a nice egret painting or figurine to put in the baby room in memory of his dad. So if you see anything, let me know!!!
5 - GTKY: (Since we are obsessed with music here, I thought that may be a fun way to go) What are some of your favorite bands? Do you have any special songs for your angels or LO now? Or maybe know a song your mom had for you?
I like everything but songs that remind me of my LO now are a little random. For whatever reason, "I'll be there" by the Jackson 5 makes me cry even though that's not at all a mom and son type of song. Another song that totally reminds me of LO is "Always Be My Baby" by Mariah Carey. Especially the part that goes, "You'll always be a part of me/ I'm part of you indefinitely/Boy don't you know you can't escape me/ Ooh darling 'cause you'll always be my baby" just because it reminds me of our special bond that we have right now. Right now, I feel so close to him. I feel like it's our special time. Even though I'm so excited to share him with my husband and our family, it just feels like right now is just our time and of course, he will always be my baby no matter what.
July16 JULY siggy challenge
What's up next: doctor's appointment tomorrow, just a regular check in. Hoping by the end of the week to have the nursery done minus art work.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: My right butt cheek has been so damn painful up till today. I'm guessing he was on a nerve because today I'm fine but all week it felt like my ass was broken. I had my shower this weekend and am feeling very grateful at my family's generosity
Add in question: No, it never occurred to me
GTKY: No special songs. There are a lot that remind me of a time or place but necessarily an event. My husband and I didn't have a song till we got married, now it's Thank You by Led Zeppelin because that's what I walked down the aisle to
2 - What's Up Next? No appointments this week. But we are starting to receive gifts, so things are starting to look real... Too bad we didn't realize the dresser we ordered might take up to 4 months to arrive (grumpf).
3 - Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Feeling itchy itchy itchy all over. May be cat hair related, I'm not sure. Husband isn't having the same thing so probably not bedbugs (thank goodness). Craving nuts and cheese. Had another leg cramp in the middle of the night that wouldn't go away without walking around. Oh and acid reflux is rearing its ugly head every evening, I probably need to start taking some Zantac.
4 - Add in question: Yeah, I actually called our first LO was my little coqui frog. We went to Puerto Rico on our honeymoon and loved the way they sounded. So then it just became a symbol of love for us I think. I haven't thought of integrating it into the decoration at home, though I have a little wood carving of one at work to remind me.
5 - GTKY: (Since we are obsessed with music here, I thought that may be a fun way to go) What are some of your favorite bands? Do you have any special songs for your angels or LO now? Or maybe know a song your mom had for you? I've been starting to listen to songs for kids in my native language. And then we also started listening to the Rockabye Baby albums on Spotify (pretty amusing!). I like a variety of different things, just to mention a few - The Cranberries, Sufjan Stevens, Queen, The Strokes, Florence + The Machine, Coeur de Pirate... Also after my loss everytime I listened to anything by Adele I thought it was about me!
2 - What's Up Next? Appointments, milestones, etc:
Tomorrow (Tuesday) I have a routine check up. I know we will be discussing the fact that I was in L&D the other night for contractions (he was the on call that night, thankfully)
3 - Rants/Raves/Symproms:
Nausea/ms are returning, really thought we were over that. Food aversion, hip/back/tailbone pain that feels like broken bones or hot pokers being stabbed into bones is unnerving
4 - Add in question: Do you have any kind of animal/theme etc that represents your angels for you? Any reason why those things? Are you using those in any way in regards to decoration/theme etc for LO?
For some of our losses (that were a little farther) we do. Our oldest is dragonflies/humming birds because after we lost her, our yard was filled with more dragonflies than I've ever seen in my life, and a hummingbird kept coming to my kitchen window (both of which aren't normal happenings). With the twins, a set of cardinals has followed me since being pregnant, so that has become a sign for us. And our youngest I was obsessed with frogs for him, and it stuck (plus these tiny frogs kept invading our house lol). We have some things for them up around our house, and animals in general is the theme for baby Lincoln. So they are sure to be mixed in
5 - GTKY: (Since we are obsessed with music here, I thought that may be a fun way to go) What are some of your favorite bands? Do you have any special songs for your angels or LO now? Or maybe know a song your mom had for you?
I literally listen to almost everything, but my favorite bands are probably Red Hot Chili Peppers, Everclear, Slipknot/Stone Sour, Mudvayne/Hellyeah, Gteen Day...I'm probably forgetting some lol
For our angels, "Gone Too Soon" by Chris Daughtry (is about miscarriage/stillbirth) and "If You Could See Me Now" by Jeff Bates (song written from the pov of the angel singing to Mommy.) I highly recommend both songs!
For Lincoln, I have (for reasons unknown) taken to singing him Simple Man (I'm a sucker for the remake by Shinedown), Alive and Well (Kenny Chesney and Dave Matthews) and a crap ton of 90s songs (think Semisonic, Blind melon, Nirvana, Eve 6, Goo Goo Dolls, Pearl Jam etc).
My mom used to sing/play for me, Sweet Child of Mine by Guns N Roses

2 - What's Up Next? Appointments, milestones, etc
geowth scan Friday
3 - Rants/Raves/Symptoms: heartburn, achy hips, acne like crazy, swelling
4 - Add in question: Do you have any kind of animal/theme etc that represents your angels for you? Any reason why those things? Are you using those in any way in regards to decoration/theme etc for LO?
owls and acorns. Owls because that was the theme for her nursery, acorns because that is the urn we chose for her.
We are using owls for this LO's nursery too.
31 + 2
2 - What's Up Next? Appointments, milestones, etc
Appt next week, breastfeeding class tomorrow
3 - Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Everything hurts. Things I didn't know could hurt, hurt. I am in full on nesting mode but it is incredibly frustrating because I get so tired and sore almost immediately. My sciatic nerve has been on fire and flaring up at inconvenient times, like when I'm walking around at the grocery store. Reflux has been awful but I've been living on ACV/honey and papaya enzymes which have made a world of difference. Others include: sleeplessness, alternating between feeling ready and being anxious that he's coming so soon, and having to pee constantly.
4 - Add in question:
No.
5 - GTKY: My mom sang Golden Slumbers by the Beatles to me when I was a baby. I have a varied taste in music, from Joni Mitchell to The Velvet Underground to Ella Fitzgerald. I sing to this baby all the time, but no particular songs. I don't have a specific song I associate with my loss either.
2 - What's Up Next? Appointments, milestones, etc: 28 week ultrasound and check in with doc. this afternoon. I get one more ultrasound at 32 weeks because I'm considered "high risk".
3 - Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Nothing new with my painful ribs on the right side. The funny thing is the baby is all the way on the left side curled up. I'm thinking my body is trying shift the weight thus creating some of the worst pain I've had to date and NOTHING helps!
4 - Add in question: Do you have any kind of animal/theme etc that represents your angels for you? Any reason why those things? Are you using those in any way in regards to decoration/theme etc for LO? DH and I LOVE animals. Our dates and trips usually always consist of the zoo/aquarium or a sanctuary. I have animals in the baby's bedding, window valences and other stuff and hope LO will love them as much as we do!
5 - GTKY: (Since we are obsessed with music here, I thought that may be a fun way to go) What are some of your favorite bands? Do you have any special songs for your angels or LO now? Or maybe know a song your mom had for you? My mom loved music and listened to everything when I was little and instilled that in me. I remember listening to The Carpenters, Stevie Wonder, Patsy Cline, Mo-Town, a little bit of everything. I love Lana Del Rey, Stevie Wonder, Ellie Goulding, Tove Lo to name a few and 80's and 90's. Right now I'm on a bit of a Prince kick ironically just before he passed away. I know baby boy is rocking out to him when I play it in the car!
2 - What's Up Next? Appointment Friday morning, birthing class tonight, and for the next 4 Tuesdays. Time to get a taste of what the final stage will be like!!
3 - Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Sleep is seriously getting challenging. The soreness, EVERYWHERE, is too. My birthday was Saturday and shower was Sunday. My sisters came up from out of town and got me a massage gift card for my birthday. I cannot wait to schedule that. I'm proud of myself with how I held up during the shower!! No crazy tears over any little thing, haha! The nursery is definitely starting to look more "real" with all the new additions. It was kind of crazy to sit back and think now that that's over, the next BIG thing is baby arriving!!!
Oh gosh, I was put on the spot about miscarriage/fertility issues. At the end of my shower, most people had left, but the couple that hosted and a few other close couples were around. Host, and another kind of close friend and I were talking and somehow the friend's fertility issues came up. I didn't know she was having any, but I know they want kids, and have been married a year and a half now. But, given my experience, I never would have dared to ask details!! Anyway, the other friend (slightly liquored up, I should add) was all, This is kind of personal, and you don't have to answer, but did you ever have any miscarriages? GEEZ!! I was honest....kind of. As honest as I could be in a quick conversation. I hope if nothing else, it at least made our friend Christina feel better about not being alone in the fertility battle.
4 - Add in question: Do you have any kind of animal/theme etc that represents your angels for you? Any reason why those things? Are you using those in any way in regards to decoration/theme etc for LO? Nothing special for representation. Like others have said....my losses were super early. One blighted ovum discovered at what would have been the 7-week dating scan, and the second was a missed miscarriage.
5 - GTKY: (Since we are obsessed with music here, I thought that may be a fun way to go) What are some of your favorite bands? Do you have any special songs for your angels or LO now? Or maybe know a song your mom had for you? No special songs at this point. But I'm sure that will come later as baby's personality really develops and reminds me of certain things. I do love music!! I'm all over the map with my taste....top 40, country, 90's R&B, classic rock. My favorite band, overall, is the Beatles.
I'm doing ok. It's definitely strange but this pregnancy is different and I have a scan on Friday, which helps. The biggest help is that she moves so much, it's very reassuring!
July16 JULY siggy challenge
Staus Update: 30+1
What's Up Next: Scan/growth Thursday at MFM then regular OB appointment.
R/R/S All the normal 3rd trimester stuff. Nightmares are still going strong. Buh bye PGAL brain. I'm sick of you.
Add in question- I think of my babies when I see butterflies. I don't to go into too much detail about it because I don't want to upset anybody, but in any case, that's what I relate to.
GTKY- have a very eclectic taste in music. I want to answer, but I can't think of anything right now.
