I was 86 degrees here on Wednesday and today it's 45. I just turned on our heat and I refuse to get up until it's an acceptable temperature... I refuse to be productive right now
It is snowing here. We had all the windows open on Monday and it was 76 and now we are under a winter storm warning
You win. This weather is awful. I just want spring !

The struggles of Colorado Spring. Planted some flowers because gardening centers know we're all desperate to plant something and have it be spring. Will have to dig up all the dead roots and plant them again in 2 weeks and pray it doesn't decide to snow through May. Or like that one year when it snowed in July...

We never plant outside until the end of May haha. Those random storms in June can still ruin things but they are pretty rare.
@TiffRox81 exactly! I'm so excited to see my baby interact with the dogs. I always had dogs growing up and the bond is unbeatable. I think it's also a good way to make sure your children don't fear animals!
1. I get irrationally mad when people post late on daily threads. I wish I had Bump powers and could lock those threads so people couldn't do it
2. I let my DH read the FFFC thread from last week since there was such a great conversation about circumcision. It prompted him to do more research on his own. He changed his mind about what he wants. Apparently an interwebz discussion CAN make people change their opinion.
Oscar usually hangs out with me and DH when we're getting ready for work... either lays in the bathroom or jumps back into bed but today I looked down and he wasn't there... I peeked out in the hallway and he was laying in the baby's room nice as pie... it was so sweet!! like hey guys, love ya but I think this will be my new spot
FFFC: I suck at keeping secrets. If you tell me something weighty, I'm probably going to share it with DH and/or my dad.
I always say that husbands don't count as telling someone. It's just common knowledge that spouses tell their spouses shit.
I feel the same way. I tell my husband everything, even if the person told me not to tell anyone. However, my husband doesn't. If I find out later from the actual person (or from someone else) and then tell him about it, he is like "Oh I already knew...." Then I always ask "Why didn't you tell me?" and he says "It wasn't my news to spread."

Tutka knows that when I put Murph in his bed that it is also time for us to go nap in my bed. I used to say "Tutka lets go bed" but now just the act of me putting Murph in his bed makes her wait at our bedroom door. Haha I guess she likes nap time too. Does this mean I nap too much??
@KASG hope you are planning to become a SAHM because every UO and FFFC you complain about your job or your students... Maybe time for a career change... (Sorry if I sound harsh but as I fellow teacher, I have colleagues like you and they make me ragey...)

Yup yup. I have worked with a lot of teachers who ultimately seem like they don't like kids very much and they do a disservice to both themselves and the students. We all get frustrated but ultimately I think if being with kids doesn't make you happy every day and you can't show them a mostly pleasant outer self, you need to find a different career.
1) Yesterday I spent an hour at lunch looking at all the previous months' birth announcement threads. Those babies are damn delicious.
2) I spent $90 on two pairs of nursing pajamas with robes for my hospital stay. I had a really bad birth experience which ended in a week long NICU stay for my son. This time I'm hoping baby can room in and I can enjoy the stay a little more. It's frivolous but hey, why not treat yourself once in a while?
1. Collectively, I've probably done about 4 hours of legit work this week. That's inclusive of attending meetings.
2. I'm fading fast... this afternoon is DRAGGING. Sorry, LO, mama needs more than her 2 servings of artificial sweetener today so she can get that caffeine!
After everyone on the planet commenting on how huge I am my grandma saying I'm smaller then she would have thought at this point made me so happy I could (well did) cry a little. Straight up my belly is big but so is my baby, people just don't need to be asses about it
@Weville I had someone at work yesterday ask my due date and I made a joke about knowing I look further along than I am, which is my current survival mechanism to prevent the inevitable "You're not due until JULY?!" *shocked face*). She responded with: "You look gorgeous; you're all belly! That colour is beautiful on you." I thought to myself "Now THAT is how you comment on a pregnant lady's body/appearance." I don't even know if she was telling the truth, but it made me feel like a million bucks.
@jolydan@elenabrent you may be right, although, I don't have many UOs or confessions that aren't education related that are even worth mentioning. I will say I actually do enjoy my job and I love my students but the administration and system really wears us down. Also, 98% of these rants you've seen have literally been ONE parent this whole time lol
I'm in the hot tub it's literally 2 degrees hotter then "reccomended" I did way to much yesterday in nursery work and feel like I got hit by a truck I have a bottle of water and am not fully submerged and don't feel over heated in the least and for the first time today I don't want to cry from pain. zero f's given
I hate the book The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding based solely on the title. I have yet to read it. What a douchey title. Makes me dislike these leche people.
I'm actually going to read it because I want the information. But what a dumb title. I don't like militant anything. And the people who named a book that seem like they are going to get on my nerves.
@Weville I just did that too! My hair was constantly in a ponytail/bun because I was too tired to blow dry and style it, so I chopped it off and got a bob. Now I'm forced to style it because it doesn't fit in a pony tail haha, but I feel much better and have found with my hair looking better I'm actually wanting to make more of an effort in other areas.
@Natinat6 they talk about the title in the intro of the book. I won't spoil it for you. That being said, I read just the intro and first chapter and I don't like it. I'm going to try to force myself to keep reading because I think there is valuable info in there, but the whole tone is turning me off (this coming from someone who is reading Hypnobirthing).
Has anyone read the article about the child free woman who wants mandatory "me-turnity" leave? A legit vacation from her job like pregnant women get when they give birth.

I read it. It just made me ragey. Maternity isn't a vacation. That woman needs a slap in the face.

I've been using mine. I actually talked to my doctor. It's about taking your temp and making sure you're not dehydrated and making sure your temp is coming down after you get out. You really don't need to go over 98-99. I'm not going in after 35 weeks though just in case this kid is further along than I thought. I fully support your need to soak.
FFFC for today is I feel jealous of people that talk about losing weight/getting in shape for the summer... I'm just over here trying to not get a double chin while still growing a chubby, healthy baby.
I'm looking forward to when I can have my body back to myself again to do with it what I'd like...for vanity sake, and alcohol...yes, plenty of alcohol.
@jlmartinez517 totally. I was just wistfully staring at all my skincare I have avoided while pregnant. I can't wait to get back to those sweet sweet magic potions.
@jlmartinez517 I feel you in some ways! I feel like first part of the summer "pre-baby" I won't feel as bad because I'm growing a child and it's obvious so most reasonable people (because there's dumb asshole everywhere!!) will see me as a pregnant woman. But!!! I feel after baby comes, the rest of the summer will be hard to have this postpartum body (and feeling not great and gross with all kind of fluids leaking) will be really hard. I plan on having my baby strap to my chest/ or with me as a "proof" that I'm not in that mode because I don't care about myself. It is very vain/proud but I can't help it because summer is such a time where people tend to judge.
Definitely @jolydan the whole liquids and post-baby belly situation is already freaking me out. I know it's the territory and well-deserved and worth it, but I'm not going to say I'm not worried about it all.
