Sleep, glorious sleep

Stop reading right now if you don't want to hear about someone else's sleep triumph.

This week, my son has decided to start massively sleeping at night. First, he did eight hours straight, then nine, and last night a little over ten! I think he only woke up the last two mornings  because I went in his room and checked on him and it roused him. Also: he's taking naps again. Two long, beautiful, satisfying naps per day. I don't know what is going on, but I think the gods are smiling on me. I feel like I won some kind of kid lottery. I hope this is a new, lasting rhythm....

Re: Sleep, glorious sleep

  • Oh lord lucky mama!! My son was sleeping so well a 7 hour stretch and then a 5 hour stretch and then down for another hour or two. And then a switch flipped and he's back to every 3 hours. And naps? We're lucky if we get 2 40 minute naps. Lol.

Hoping I get as lucky as you soon. Lol.

Have you done anything different to his routine?

Eris is pretty much sleeping through the night too! She does wake up at least once though just so I can give her her pacifier though...need to work on teaching her to put herself back to sleep on her own.
She take 3 naps a day. Not long ones but long enough for me to get stuff done!
Glad you're having good luck! Fingers crossed that it only gets better!  ;)
  • Elliot has slept through the night pretty much since I actually let her sleep. I used to wake her every 3 hours. But haven't for a couple months. She sleeps 8 to 10 hours straight, but still has some bad nights. Like last night she woke 6 or 7 times, I think she wasn't feeling good. So glad everything is working out for yah! I'm happy to know you're getting some sleep!

I'm sad to report it all fell apart when he went too long without a nap before bed one day. He was over tired, slept badly that night, and hasn't gotten back on track yet. I think it might be time for some kind of sleep training, he seems ready and I think some structure might help him... we shall see...
