36 weeks first time mother 3cm dialated and 75% effaced anyone else

My doctor told me im really good for a first time mother and hope i go at 38 weeks. 3 cm dialated, 75% effaced i think. Has anyone else had similar numbers?

This is my third baby, but I've been 3cm dilated for 3 weeks now. I'm 37w3d and still the same. I was 1cm dilated at 36 weeks with my first and had her 3 days later. Doesn't make sense to me!

With my first, I was 3cm dilated 70% effaced from 36 weeks until 41 weeks when I got induced.

I don't know how to tell. My doctor hasn't checked me for that and I just turned 36 weeks. I have my appointment on Tuesday.

I'm also 36 weeks and I am dilated 2-3cm. I'm personally worried but the doctor sent me home because there was no change overnight. Still 2-3cm. I hope I make it to week 38.

I'm 3 cm, fully effaced, and LO is -1 to -2 position at 38 1/2 weeks. At 36, I was 1 1/2 cm but a little more dialated than you.

OB has told me for three appointments now that it could be any day. I'm getting really tired of that line, although it eventually has to be true.

I am a FTM and had my 38 wk appt today. I was 0% effaced last week and about 90% this week with no dilation yet. Not sure what that means either. Have been up with BH lasting aboit 3 hrs every night since Sunday. I also bled enough to panic a bit after this internal exam today. Doc said it is normal. Good luck!

well i got checked again a week later and was 4cm and still nothing has happened i get checked again and they decided if i haven't given birth by tomorrow they are going to schedule to induce me.

Why induce? Aren't you around 38w now?

Why would they induce you?  I walked around 4-5 cm dilated with my first two pregnancies and they never mentioned induction, and i went into labor on my own (one at 6 days late, one two days early)...it just resulted in fast labors since so much of the "work" was done already.  I'm glad my doctors aren't so induction happy as it appears some are.

I've been at 3 1/2 cm since 38 weeks, I'm due Tuesday and my doctor said since my cervix is favorable they can induce me at 40 weeks. Personally I'd rather get induced and go on time because with DS I went into labor 6 days late and it almost resulted in a csection because his big head got stuck! Hoping this baby doesn't have as big a head because being on the verge of a csection was absolutely terrifying!

My friend got scheduled for an induction after she walked around dilated to 3 cm for about a week. She ended up going into spontaneous labor before that so it didn't ultimately come to anything, but at the time I thought it was a little weird, and now that I've been walking around dilated to 3 cm for THREE weeks, I definitely think that was weird.

But yeah there are practices out there that'll induce for no other reason beyond partial dilation, apparently.

They want me to go somewhat early rather than late because of Gestational Diabetes
