Upcoming appointments? My next appointment is on May 17th, so still a ways away. I'm hoping they'll tell me my SCH is gone by then!
Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm just ready to have an unmistakable bump. I threw one of my good friends a baby shower at my house on Sunday and of course, we wanted a picture of our bumps, but I have no bump compared to her 34 week bump. Seeeeeee... Sad
Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? DH and I are registering at Babies-R-Us this Saturday. I'm so excited!
GTKY: Do you want a big family or a small one? Is your choice different than the size you grew up with? We want two, maybe three kids (depending on how well we handle two!). DH has 5 siblings and I am an only child, so it'll definitely be different for both of us; more so for me, I guess.

The little one gave me a pretty good scare last week. Last Tuesday night, I had to make an ER trip because of some spontaneous, very heavy bleeding. They did an ultrasound and bloodwork and everything seems to be fine. I followed up with my doctor who suggested a small breakage or rupture in the placenta but he really can't be sure and said we just had to wait and see. They called it a "threatened miscarriage" which might be the absolute worst medical jargon ever, my doctor said they have to use it on the paperwork for my insurance to cover all the extra testing but that even he hates using it because it sounds so alarming. The bleeding slowed down to the volume of a normal period and then by Sunday was down to spotting. I have a follow up viability ultrasound on Thursday just to be on the safe side. It's been really stressful, and I can't wait until Thursday to see the baby and hopefully ease some of this anxiety.

Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? I'm trying to stay positive and have been doing a lot of pinteresting to give my sister-in-law ideas for the baby shower. I also ordered art prints for the nursery walls that I really love. If all goes well Thursday, I definitely want to do some fun baby stuff this weekend to distract myself.
GTKY: Do you want a big family or a small one? Is your choice different than the size you grew up with? I'm one of 4. I used to always think we wanted 3, but this pregnancy so far has been tougher on me than I anticipated so that might change my mind. We'll see how it goes.

Upcoming appointments? None until Anatomy Scan on the 20th, other than that just have to walk-in prior to that to get blood drawn for my Quad Screen. it was previously scheduled for this past saturday, but I switched Doctors last week, and my new OB suggested i wait til about 17 weeks for my Quad Screen. He said, doing it now would be a little too soon and he did not want the results to come back abnormal, causing me stress and having to go through more unnecessary testing. So i'll be going back next week.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm so obsessed with thinking of the perfect baby name for boy or girl, but SO keeps telling me he wants to wait until we find out the sex of the baby. I dont wanna wait! lets start talking names now!!!! lol

GTKY: Do you want a big family or a small one? Is your choice different than the size you grew up with? I would love to have a big family since my family is huge and i grew up around 15 + cousins. So family gatherings were always wild and always a blast! However, SO grew up in a small family, and he's very reserved and laid back so im thinking maybe 2 kids. Not too worried tho, our babies will have lots of fun and awesome memories since most of my cousins and siblings already have 2 or more kids !
@scostel2 - How scary! Hoping Thursday comes fast for you - will be thinking of you!!

Upcoming appointments? Just had one this morning! Heard the heartbeat on dopler and we scheduled the ultrasound for May 17th to find out the sex - yay! Doing a gender reveal party/birthday party for my husband on the 20th. Looking forward to it!
Rants/Raves/Questions: Ugh, this has nothing to do with the baby, but I have to talk about it. Took my dogs to the vet yesterday for dentals. Got a call from the vet a little while later that they found some alarming stuff after doing the blood work for my oldest dog, Toby. His organ proteins are low, his white blood cell count is high and his red blood cells are low. There is some fluid in his belly too. Could be a number of things - liver/kidney/heart failure, tumor, auto-immune disease... We're doing antibiotics for a week and will check his blood again on Friday to see if anything has changed. If not, they'll do an abdominal ultrasound and heart ultrasound (he already has a heart murmur) to see what's going on. But it doesn't sound good. I was a mess yesterday - my eyes hurt so bad from crying so much! He's almost 11 years old, and I know this time had to come, but he's my first baby and I just can't imagine our family without him.
Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? Got my son's "big boy room" all done last weekend and got the crib out. He fell out of the toddler bed the first night - poor kid! But did great last night. We decorated it in Paw Patrol and surprised him with it (he was at my mom's for the day). He was so excited! Now, just to work on potty training so I can get the changing table out of there for baby!

In fact, I'm thinking about getting my tubes tied after my C-section. Even with that, my husband wants to get a vasectomy. His way of "double-bagging it" to make sure we don't have a third!

Rants/Raves/Questions: Major rave for the second trimester and getting some energy back. We also found out the sex yesterday (it's a girl!) so that has made everything feel so much more real and I'm starting to feel connected to the pregnancy and the excitement of planning for the future.
Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? Thursday is my birthday so I'm planning on treating myself to whatever I'm in the mood for. Hopefully that includes a trip to Target and maybe a little baby shopping

I always always always thought I wanted a big family. And then I got pregnant. Pregnancy is harder than I imagined (emotionally) and I will admit, and I just don't know if a big family is something that I want anymore. We have 8 nieces and nephews on DH's side and, after visiting with family a few weeks ago, that seems like A LOT of kids. I'm one of two and DH is one of three. I have hardly any extended family, and he has more than he can count.

Well, initially I took the "whatever happens happens" approach, but now we're leaning on the big family side because that's what has "happened" haha This will be our Fourth, FI has a son from his previous marriage, I have a daughter from my previous marriage, we have a son together, another son on the way, and he decided he'd like to try again for a girl in a few years but stop after that regardless of the sex!
I have 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 step-brother, and my little brothers' half brother that we've always considered all of our brother. So that's 7 from my side.
FI has 6 brothers and 3 sisters and 1 step-brother. That's 10 on his side.
Our numbers actually pale in comparison to what we're used to haha

Nope, busy week Tuesday work.

I grew up with a small family, just me and my sister. DH has an older brother and a younger sister. He's ok with just having one kid, I want at least two. We have to do IVF to have kids so I'm not sure how many times we would want to go through the process. We have two more embryos in the freezer (first one stuck on the first try) so I would like to give those embryos a shot.
How many weeks? 14 weeks
How big is baby? A peach, a troll doll, a house mouse... I feel like a peach is way bigger than a mouse though
Upcoming appointments? I'm right in between appointments, had one at 12 weeks, the next one isn't until 16, but I got an ultrasound at 12 weeks so I know the baby has a head, and the placenta is in a good place, so I feel less worried about everything.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm solidly in the 2nd trimester, but no cute bump, I just feel fat because I can't button my pants. I'm still nauseous but I haven't actually thrown up in a couple weeks, just feel full all the time.
Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? Not really. Need to keep working on cleaning the house, and need to finish sending out wedding thank you notes before our 1 year anniversary next month or nobody is gonna give us any baby gifts.

I was an only child until like age 5 when my parents divorced and my mom remarried and gave me 2 half-siblings and my dad married a woman with 3 kids so I went from only child to one of 6 within 3 years and I think it definitely made me a better person: less spoiled, funnier, better with people... siblings are awesome. We'll probably end up trying for 3 kids, as the reality wil probably be more overwhelming than my imagination.

Upcoming appointments?
Had one last Friday, learned Sudafed makes my blood pressure high! I measured 142/96, so I had to go back today for a BP recheck. No Sudafed since Monday and I was 128/74. Good to know about the Sudafed! I will certainly use it sparingly from now on.
I have another check up scheduled for 5/25 and it's our gender scan day!!
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Nothing really at the moment, I don't think. I'm really just bummed about the Sudafed thing, because it's one of the only things I can take right now for this head cold!
Also, I've been steadily feel more and more movement; I just can't wait until DD and DH can feel it, too!

We moved DD a few weeks ago into another room, but her old room (which is going to be the baby's room) is still a hot mess. There's toys and books and dress up clothes we haven't moved yet, and I just feel so overwhelmed whenever I walk past it, so I keep putting it off. It needs done though, so ideally I'll start working with her for like 15 mins a day and I know we'd have it done in no time.

I never really thought about an exact number, but I knew I wanted more than one child. I have a feeling we'll stop at two, just because of finances and DH has some chronic health problems that make raising kiddos challenging.
