There's a new Pedigree commercial where a wounded warrior goes to an animal shelter. Oh. My. God. Prepare yourself. Hit pause, grab your tissues and then you can proceed.
My husband took me into town because I was craving little caesars bread sticks (don't know why, they're not even good). He tried acting like he was doing it for me but I think he just didn't want to cook supper lol
Thank you to whoever mentioned ad blocker. I was getting SO ANNOYED with how the webpage jumped around as it loaded all the eleventy billion ads. This make it sooo much better.
I've been on days off and got a call this morning about the work drama going on. I'm super appreciative of the heads up, but it's my day off. So much for relaxing.
*TW for this since it deals with a pretend-but-realistic adverse pregnancy outcome*
We're learning how to deliver life-altering news to people. One of the role-play scenarios was telling a pregnant woman that her baby had passed away late in the third trimester. I just could not do it. I refused. I know I wouldn't be able to handle it.
(Have to edit post since I probably went into too much detail about what goes on in group.)

@KilgraveMadeMeDoIt, that is legitimately one of the reasons I didn't go into medicine. I don't think I could handle the emotional weight of giving bad news. I don't blame you for bowing out today. I couldn't do that.
@shevacc I think I'd have been able to handle it if I weren't pregnant. I just don't have as good a handle of my emotions when pregnant and I know I'd have ended up sobbing in front of my classmates. OB and family med are my primary areas of interest specialty-wise so I know I will, at some point, be delivering that exact news to someone during my career, and so I'm ending the day very pensive.

@KilgraveMadeMeDoItthere's so much good doctors do, especially OBs and family doctors, that I'm sure the good days outweigh the tough ones. It's good you think about this sort of stuff in your training so you can take into account as much as possible in deciding your future path.
I totally scored the digits of another Mom yesterday at the indoor play place that I take my son to to burn off energy. I haven't met ANYONE here since we moved last summer, I'm ridiculously shy. She's actually incredibly nice and we totally hit it off when our boys fought over a toy coupe. We talked for an hour, I even held her tiny daughter who reached out for me after 15 minutes, I haven't held a little one in ages.
We exchanged numbers and we're FB friends now. I'm planning our wedding.
I just ate a (cold) turkey club and it was the most glorious thing in the entire world. I also washed it down with a Diet Coke...I have been so good, I don't feel bad in the slightest
I spent a majority of my morning vacuuming my vacuum with my other vacuum. Now I have 2 clean vacuum cleaners. My life is complete. Time to eat Oreos.
This reminds me of an old episode of Full House I'm also jealous because my Dyson has been in the shop for two weeks now and I haven't been able to vacuum.
My oldest , he just turned 5 days ago, is obsessed about babies. He found the book that they gave me at my first appointment about everything you need to know about pregnancy and I swear he's been trying to memorize everything about fetal development. He asks me all the time about what the baby looks like now and what is developing. I figured he was a little young, but he insists on details and is so fascinated and excited.
@banfrog My oldest is like that too. It's so fun to be able to talk about it with someone who is so excited! Even my husband doesn't care as much about the foetal development stuff as Kid 1 does.

I adore eating when I'm pregnant. Everything is magnified. DH told me the other day he was envious of my ability to enjoy food as much as I do, because everything appears amplified when pregnant. I think the inappropriate moaning when I bit into my russian dumplings tipped him off.
Question for you @HomeyDontPlayThat - I just finished the first Outlander book and it was fab. How is the second one? Worth continuing on with the series?

I'm rereading the series for the 8th time right now, I finished 2 last week, I'm on 4 right now. There's 8 altogether, so you are SO lucky to read them back to back, I hated waited 4 years.
Book 2 is where I really started to get invested in the series. I will admit the 1st book took a long time for me to get into, there is a lot of building and explaining, setting up that was going on and it felt like it dragged for a bit. But I swear to you, the series gets so much more polished and FILLED to the brim with characters, plot and juicy conversation and twists. You'll be taken all over the world, it's not exclusive to Scotland. It's my favorite series and I'm so jelly that you're reading it for the first time because it's the best read ever.
Diana G is so incredible at what she does. She takes years to write these books, really concentrates on historical accuracy without making anything dry and bland. I have learned so much from these books and it didn't even feel like it at the time. She's super smart and you can tell when you get into the series.

That's exactly how I ended up with 2 vacuum cleaners. My dyson pet was being repaired and I couldn't take it. So I bought another one. Now there's one upstairs and one downstairs which will be awesome around that 8 month mark when I don't want to carry it up and down.
Mmkay someone help me. I can't figure out how to get rid of the semicolon that it adds after I tag someone on mobile. It doesn't show up until I've hit "post" and I can't even delete it by editing. It's making me bananas. Anyone know how to fix this?
I keep realizing how many of the board members were born in the 90s and it makes me catch myself a bit because I was usually amongst the youngest in my prior birth month groups but I'm totally not now. (Solidly average at 29.)

@KilgraveMadeMeDoIt - if/when you do have to deliver devastating news to people, if you're doing it in hospital to an inpatient, please take the time to find the nurse and give her/him a heads up (or take him/her with you). There is *nothing* worse than walking into a room when a physician has just dropped a bomb (like "Your child has cancer") and then beats a hasty retreat. Walking into that blindly is awful.

I am always thankful for these tips. I know nurses are the ones who keep everything running (used to work for a nurse and she was the best boss and mentor I ever had) and that you guys always seem to know everything. So thank you!

I mentioned to DH that I was on TB. He said I should make a post and say that I just took a big poop. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if he acted like an adult. It would probably worry the hell out of me...
I haven't folded a single piece of laundry since the week before finding out I was pregnant. We've been living out of laundry baskets. I have started craving spaghetti again. Made the most garlicky meatballs ever. I'm in love. And Reese's pieces. Its actually getting out of hand. Ive decided to teach myself sign language but I think its just a distraction from folding laundry. This weeks almost done and I'm so thankful. Oh and my mother in law will be staying with us tomorrow. I'm trying not to dread it. She means well.

(Quote fail) I used to recruit patients for a cancer research study, and we needed to get people ASAP after diagnosis. This meant that most of the time I was walking in right after the doc delivered the news. It was awful, especially since it was a non-treatment study. Nobody wanted me there and I didn't want to be there. Luckily I switched departments and I don't do that anymore.

@NatashaSprout Wait...you're planning on vacuuming when you're 8 months? I thought that's what we paid our husbands for...
I want a housekeeper so badly. I like my house to be really clean but I'm not nesting at all and I don't have energy or motivation to do any cleaning right now. Ugh.

I can't breathe. Well, normally. I have very severe asthma and it goes slightly out of control when I'm pregnant. Going up the stairs leaves me panting and gasping right now. My asthma has always really limited my life and I feel so.... disabled by it right now. I hate this.

Get one get one get one. I have the most wonderful woman who comes every other week and I seriously don't know how I used to survive without her. I feel a little silly sometimes because I'm a SAHM so I *should* have time to keep the house in order, but having someone who comes in twice a month to give the whole place a deep clean is SO worth the money to me. I'd rearrange a ton of other stuff in my budget before I gave that up.

Blue Diamond Bold Wasabi & Soy Sauce almonds are so delicious. I'm eating them right now and need to force myself to stop before I get diarrhea.
