Hi Mommies! Very excited to say that I will be moseying over to the 3rd trimester board, 28 weeks!!! I missed our check in last week, DH and I were on our babymoon in California  We drove the PCH from LA to San Francisco, it was beautiful! We hiked, hit the beach, relaxed, and ate A LOT! It was a great time despite my aching feet! We walked everywhere and now I am currently wearing my slippers at work because it hurt too much to wear anything else haha.

I wish all of you ladies the absolute best throughout the rest of your 2nd trimesters and cannot wait to see you all over in the 3rd trimester board  I am sure I will still be lurking here tho

QOTW: Me and DH both have really strong values especially when it comes to family. We will raise our babe with those same values and hope they stick  Also honesty. We're also both incredibly honest people, for better or worse, which I have always appreciated (even when I don't like it!). We're both fun people who don't take ourselves too seriously and always believe in being who we are and definitely want our baby to do the same. My DH is def the brain in the family (mechanical engineer turned physics teacher) and I'm the creative one (artist and graphic designer) so I think both of those are great things to pass on. DH is also really rational, whereas I am completely irrational haha. No matter which of those our baby turns out to be, hopefully he or she will one day find someone to balance them out  Until then, mom or dad will

  • Congratulations on your "graduation," @mechelita44! I'll miss you around here--see you in 7 weeks.

On Saturday, I thought I maybe had indigestion from some truly worth it nachos, but on Sunday, after I'd had a glass of juice (tangerine, from Trader Joe's, I highly recommend it!) and was lying on my side reading Dorothy Sayers, I realized that yes, the baby is kicking and I can feel it! I'm getting a few kicks right now, after I just polished off some blackberries for a snack. It's so exciting! My husband's face when he could feel it was the best, though.

As a classic middle child, I have a strong sense of empathy and justice. My husband is generous, funny, and intelligent. Those would all be great qualities for our child to learn/inherit. And if I'm not being too greedy, I'd love a child who's a voracious reader. I'll do my best to instill that in him or her from day one. I'm already wondering when is too soon to read Harry Potter and Anne of Green Gables...

  • So last night I finally felt my first kicks!! It went on for about 10 minutes. I'm so glad bc I go in for my 24 week visit tomorrow and even though I have an anterior placenta it was driving me nuts.

I I hope baby gets my patience; both of our intellect; and Hubbys athleticism.

    Have a great week!
  • My EDD is 10/18. Not a lot going on this week. I had horrible nausea and vomiting yesterday. I thought the morning sickness was behind me, surprise!

I find out the baby gender in a couple weeks and a friend wants to throw me a gender reveal party. I'm not too excited about the idea, I don't know why. I feel a baby is a great reason to celebrate, but do I need another party for it?

I hope my child gets my common sense and love of animals. I hope my husband's wonderful smile and sense of humor is passed on. My temper can die with me!
  • Hi all!  17w this week and things are going pretty well.  I think that I'm feeling flutters, and when I've done the doppler and had a mini ultrasound last week, we saw arms and legs just kicking and moving around.. We haven't heard his heartbeat at "resting" yet, so he's always in the upper 160s-180s.  Had my 16w appointment last week and everything came back with negative results.

QOTW: What trait or characteristic do you hope your baby(ies) will get from you? From your husband?
I hope Bojangles has my sharp visual memory skills.  I also hope he is hopeful like me.  I hope he gets my husband's sense of humor and wit. I'm really hoping he's just a pretty good mix of us both, and I can't wait to see who he becomes.
  • Hi ladies! 15w this week and not much going on. I have my appetite back which is great but my energy level is way down. Maybe it's because I'm on my feet all day at work but as soon as I come home it's shower, pjs, dinner and bed. In a couple weeks I will have bloodwork done for neural tube defects and right after that the anantomy scan.
QOTW: I hope my LO gets my sense of humor and mental toughness and DH beautiful smile, patience and caring heart.
  • Hi everyone!  Welcome again to the influx of new people!!  :)

I'm 22 weeks this week (22w 2d to be exact).  I had an OB appt yesterday with an ultrasound and baby A is still a girl and baby B is still a boy.  And even I could see it since both my precious little angels were head down with legs spread open wide.  So modest.  HAHA!  Just truckin' along here.  Still having hip and pelvic pain but chiropractor is helping.  My worst symptom these days is heartburn.  Blood sugars have all been really good unless I go completely off the rails (Chipotle burrito bowl tasted SO GOOD yesterday but my sugar was a little over my goal).

QOTW:  You all have such great traits you mentioned.  I'm not going to lie.  My first thought was I hope both these babies love sleep as much as my daughter and I do!!  HAHA!  Seriously though, I hope my children all have their father's empathy.  Oddly, I'm a nurse and consider myself very empathetic and caring, but my hubby is just so sweet.  He's frequently stopping his car to help turtles across the road and things like that that I would never even think of doing.  He's just a nice, nice person.  :)  Beyond that, we both have master's degrees, so I'm hopeful they'll have a love of education and reading as we both do.  This is really interesting to think about.  I really hope all my children are a good mix of the two of us.
    *** Child & current pregnancy mentioned ***
    Me - 41 (PCOS), Hubby - 43 (healthy)
7/2013 - Sweet baby girl born (Clomid + TI)
    3/2014 - TTC #2, return to RE 7/2014
12/2015: IVF #1 transferred two great looking embryos - BFP!
First ultrasound: TWO beautiful little heartbeats!!
Harmony: negative; level 2: babies look great and are boy/girl! :)
  • Morning ladies! I am just about 26 weeks. Got my first cold during the pregnancy over the weekend and ended up losing my voice. Let me tell you how fun that is while you have a toddler hitting the terrible twos and you can't sound stern even if you tried. Everything came out as a whisper and he laughed at me a few times. LOL He's so much like his momma. LOL

While I was in bed for two days I did get to lay there and watch Wyatt move. It's not the small kicks anymore, now it's the big rolls across my stomach. I love it! My next appt is on May 5th for my glucose test. I'm praying I pass. I didn't have an issue with my first pregnancy, so I am hoping I won't with this one.

QOTW: I hope this child has my husband's patients and calmness. I am the complete opposite. I'm hyper, high strung and have absolutely NO patience and my son , Noah (the two-nager) is the same way as I am. LOL it's terrible.

@mechelita44 YA for the 3rd tri! I will be there in two more weeks! I can't believe it!
