May 2016 Moms

Its the weekend!!!

Is it just me, or was this the longest week ever??? But it is almost the weekend!! As we all are dwindling down on child-free weekends, what are your plans for this weekend?

Mine is to sleep. Take a few walks. Brunch with a friend. Wash down door and window frames. Big time fun around here :)

  • Yay weekend! DH and I have been doing coffee/lazy time in bed every Saturday for the past few months including letting the pups on the bed for a snuggle (usually not allowed!) knowing that these lazy mornings are soon to end... I'm also planning on enlisting his help in cleaning all the baseboards this weekend. Big fun indeed @yogahh :p

  • I'm hoping to tackle our landscaping this weekend before LO comes.  DH and I are going to find a dishwasher too.  DH usually works second shift, but he had morning trainings yesterday and today, which means 4 nights off together!  We are going to go out to dinner and to a brewery he likes.  As a fair trade I'm making him take me to a crafting sale tomorrow ;)

How do you have the energy to do all these things?

  • We have out birthing class tomorrow which is also my bday. Im getting old- Happy birthday heres how to push out a baby! There is a huge Rhea Lana consignment sale that Im going to on Sunday. Another busy weekend for me.
  • Today officially starts my weekend. SO has Fridays off until he goes back out of town for work and I have no class Fridays. Today we're spending the day at the Skate park, tomorrow is my and my mom's birthday so I'll be spending the day with her and then Sunday is the baby shower! Yay!
  • I'm getting a haircut tomorrow, and I'm waaay too excited about it.  But then again, and maybe this should be my FFFC, it's been about a year in the making.  Oops.

yay for the weekend!!!!!! I agree, this week has been extra long (I kept thinking yesterday was Friday and was sad every time I figured out it was Thursday). DH is helping a friend build a deck. I'm super pumped to take my car to the dealer for an oil change because I'm going to sit in their fancy waiting room, read a book, drink their beverages, and eat all their cookies :) Then I will go to culvers for lunch and get ice cream!!!!! Unfortunately there is also a lot of cleaning to be done.

  • Like PPs, definitely taking advantage of lazy time in bed for these couple of remaining weekends. Also need to install the car seat (after I somewhat insanely decided to exchange the car seat we had originally purchased last weekend) and will probably do more cleaning and organizing around the house. Dinner with friends tomorrow night and probably walking around the city to get some exercise and enjoy the spring weather.

  • @babyfmama Love that gif.  Best. Feeling. Ever.

My biggest client is having a big anniversary banquet on Saturday night, so we'll be attending that.  I need to find a nice dress to wear that fits.  Yikes!  Other than that, I'll just try to get some things done around the house, do some yard work, install the car seat base, finish packing my hospital bag, take lots of walks, and relax!  Yay for the weekend.
  • I'm going to try to keep myself as active and busy as possible, I need to stop thinking about when I'll go into labor. The only real plan we have is a bbq on Sunday. Other than that we'll go on a lot of walks, do a lot of cleaning and organizing, and try to stay sane.

  • Farmer's market tomorrow morning, packing hospital & diaper bags, finalizing purchasing baby items, lots of long family walks, and playing Wii games!
  • This is my last official day baby free before my induction tomorrow. I've spent the day cleaning and we just finished putting together our new outdoor furniture! Last minute packing to be done tonight then I'm all ready for the call to come to the hospital tomorrow! It's kinda surreal when you have a set date instead of just waiting for things to happen. On the upside it's meant we've been able to plan a final
house cleaning, which makes me feel good about bringing baby home to an organised house!
Oh my, so exciting! Good luck tomorrow and enjoy your last night of being labor and baby free!

I'll be catching up on laundry and cleaning, grocery shopping, playing with DS, and hopefully spending some one on one evening time with DH too. Standard weekend here!

Last iron draw before delivery is tomorrow too! I'll be glad to not get poked for blood so often for a while.
  • ayeshaohara , how are you feeling about tomorrow? Are you nervous knowing its TOMORROW?!?!?!

  • We can finally work on the nursery! So tomorrow we're painting (not sure how much help I'll be). So hopefully we will be done by Sunday with that. Everything is ready to go. Just need to paint first. C section is a week from Monday so nothing like waiting until the last minute. Although yesterday I had a NST and I was having contractions. I've been having sporadic ones so maybe she'll come before. Let me just get through this weekend.
  • 4 day weekend for us, MH took Friday off and Monday is a holiday!  We managed to do a lot of driving yesterday trying to find a new toilet seat and we still don't have one! (the one we bought doesn't fit right.)  Other than that we have some baby room stuff to deal with, cupboards to clean and organize, about 15 boxes of MH's books to pack up and a lot of other various things that I have been putting off.  Due very soon so I feel like I am majorly running out of time to get all these little tasks done!   Eeeeek!
  • @yogahh - We purchased our house a year ago, and the previous owners had let the landscaping go to hell and overgrow like crazy.  We didn't tackle it last year because we figured it would be easier in spring when everything was just growing out again.  All the plants are popping up, so it's either let it go for another year or get it done now!

We also own a self-serve car wash, so there's cleaning and maintenance to be done there and I'd like to organize the garage.  Most of my indoor nesting is done - these are all projects I can use DH with for heavy lifting and whatnot.  Plus I'm hoping all the activity will get LO out!

  • We have our family room furniture being delivered tomorrow, and DH is supposedly putting together the nursery furniture this weekend as well. Exciting stuff
  • My MIL is coming over for bfast tomorrow and helping with the sorting of the nursery closets. Then we have an afternoon bbq with friends.

Sunday we are taking my parents out for bfast. And then together we are doing the last baby shopping.

All in all a productive weekend.
  • Very long! And I'm officially waking up throughout the night!
  • definitely pampering my husband this weekend...after I make him clean the carpets ;)
  • This week drug it's heels in the ground that's for sure.

My mom suprised me by flying into town this weekend! I've been missing her so much! Knowing my mom, part of tomorrow will be spent stocking up our fridge/pantry, a coffee date, and something spontaneous. I really want to get our front flower bed planted too (we dug up the prickly bushes a few days ago). So we'll see if that gets done.

Tomorrow is also the baby shower my MIL and SIL are hosting. My MIL is really good at hosting parties so I'm pretty excited!

There's also a million other things I should get done but I'm keeping my expectations for productivity pretty low this weekend.

  • I have a hair cut today, which I can't wait for it's been too long. Then I'm stuck working for a little. After that though my doctor told me yesterday to just relax and keep my feet up to try to get the sudden swelling under control, so I'm going to take advantage of this and put DH to work this weekend
  • Working a 14 hour shift and trying to finish some remaining projects to hand off to my replacement today.  :|

Tomorrow I'll relax, read some books I just recieved in the mail today, probably make a trip to the comic book store and the dog park. Then a big birthday dinner for an industry friend which means a lot of great wine and beer that I won't be drinking. Womp womp. I'll definitely be tasting some of DH's  >:)

  • And DH just broke the wheel off the vacuum. We're off to a good start with me picking up around the house today. Lol. I think maybe I'll go to Target now and get some shopping done... Let DH vent about the vacuum.
  • Finally celebrating our anniversary this weekend with some good food tonight and our wedding cake (it's our 3rd wedding anniversary and I'm not about saving frozen cake so we order it from or bakery every year and it's my FAVORITE - DH even said he got the bigger size. I heart him.) Tomorrow he will golf while I get my toes done. I'm really going to miss our Saturday/Sunday lounging days with just us but I'm looking forward to how much joy our LO will bring us. It's bittersweet!
