I wanna tell our DD so bad! Partly because I'm afraid I'll slip up and say something and she'll totally catch on. We're waiting until school is out for the summer though. Another 5 weeks to go!

I tried to show my 21 month old the doppler, let him hear the heartbeat. He kept grabbing the wand and talking into it, "CALL ME. CALL ME."

He screamed when I took it away, so, yeah. That won't be happening again. I'll shove him in Big Brother t-shirts and read his New Baby book, call it good.

We finally told the kids a couple days ago and my DD (4) barely reacted. She's been extra clingy since then so I've been going out of my way to tell her how special she is to me. She has said she'd prefer a sister since she already has a brother. Her favorite names are Rosie and Lily.

Technically DH told DS (1.5) weeks ago since DH thought he would burst so I told him it was fine. DS is mostly unintelligible thus far and only says one word at a time still so I figured he couldn't spill the news. He doesn't care if it's a boy or girl but hopes it's a dinosaur.

We told DD (almost 3) the other night bc she and DH came inside while I was opening the big sister books is ordered on Amazon. She was so excited about the books but didn't quite get it until we had her watch the Dora episode about becoming a big sister. She loves telling her friends and teachers at daycare and kisses my belly and talks to the baby now :-)

So many cute stories of sharing the news with the siblings!
I'm dreading telling DH's adult children.  I keep having nightmares about it.  In reality, I'm sure it will be fine.  They're great and visit us all the time.  This is totally about my issues!  Probably unresolved shit with my own half brothers who were in their teens/20s when I was born.  They occasionally made it obvious that they felt their father's new family was more loved than they were.  Ouch!!
