Sample IVF protocol with photo & list of meds

Hi! I hope this helps someone! These are my IVF meds that I picked up from the pharmacy today.  

For those interested, here's what my RE has me taking throughout my IVF cycle:
Progesterone in oil
Menopur
Ganirelix 
Follistim
Estradiol patches
Syringes/needles
2 Gallon sharps container
tablets: Oxycodone/acetaminophen, Medrol, Doxycycline, Valium 
Missing is the Ovidrel because my RE hasn't decided if I will use it yet or not. 

Full plan:
-Take Doxycycline for 10 days and bcp for up to 2 weeks, last dose on 4/20
-injection class and baseline ultrasound 4/21
-Start follistim 4/23, 50 units in am, 75 units in pm for 2 days
-bloodwork to check estradiol level on 4/25, doctor will call with results to give instructions for medications
-Pending results of bloodwork and ultrasound, on 4/28 start Ganirelix 250 mcg every pm until directed to stop (Prevents premature release of eggs)
-Egg retrieval 5/4



If anyone is interested, I will update this post as my cycle progresses and list what I end up taking.

Curious--why do they have you taking doxycycline?

Looks a lot like my pile of meds! I'm on gonal-f instead of follistim though. I found it helpful to put each day of meds along with the necessary needles, wipes, etc. in a little snack or sandwich bag. It made night #2 so much easier since I already knew what I needed and it was all together.

DH and I had to take antibiotics at the start to make sure we didn't have any infections especially down there,  then I took doxycycline after my ER.  I was on gonal-f, then added cetrotide, added menopur, then just ovidrel and now just endometrin.  Overall it wasn't that bad - after all,  it's for a good cause  (and I suspect I may have been lucky lol, though I was one of the 2% who got dizzy on gonal-f).

@msirni0 The Doxy is to prevent infection. My RE had me take it before I started stimming and will do another course after ER. 
@mtpbadger That's a great idea! 
I read so many places that the day you get your meds is intimidating because of the 'huge box' you get. So, I posted this so people can know what to expect!
