How many weeks are you?
Any updates from your last appointment?
What pregnancy symptom(s) will you be glad to be done with? What will you miss about being pregnant?
How are you doing in regards to thinking about your twin delivery/induction/C-section?
Any nesting going on lately?
Next Thursday will be my last check-in probably, unless I deliver earlier. If any of you want to keep in touch w/me on FB send me a message! I would love keep up with how you and your babies are doing!
Re: *** Thursday TWINS Check-In 4/21 ***
How many weeks are you? 37 tomorrow!
Any updates from your last appointment? Baby boys are still lookin' good. One or both like to sleep during the NST and they always have to get out the buzzer.
But yesterday I ate a banana during it and baby B went bananas for the banana.
woo hoo! They are both estimated to weigh 6 lbs 7 oz. Can't wait to see what they really weigh at birth. My Dr. should be getting back to me on the date of the induction. We would both like Sunday, May 1st, but that day may be too full
What pregnancy symptom(s) will you be glad to be done with? What will you miss about being pregnant? I will miss the kicks and the belly (like 2nd trimester sized belly).
I'll be glad to be done with carpal tunnel, fat feet, itchy stretch marks, and just moving slow in general from the big belly. I'm curious if my show size will permanently be bigger (it happened to my mom).
How are you doing in regards to thinking about your twin delivery/induction/C-section? I've been pretty chill about it all. It's not my first rodeo, but now that it's definitely getting closer I'm not real amped about being in pain. lol. However, this will be my first birth getting an epidural, so I'm looking forward to seeing what that's like (heaven?). I really should prepare more for possibly having a C-section. I have had two fairly major abdominal surgeries for my crohn's disease and it's no walk in the park recovering from them.
Any nesting going on lately? YES. I have been for a couple weeks. Now that my volunteering, working, and working out is mostly over I have more time on my hands (which mentally is GREAT). But, I move slow and can only do so much. Yesterday was swapping out winter and summer clothes in my kid's closet; going through hand-me-downs, getting rid of stuff... I also organized all the kid's crafty stuff to a new area (since it used to be in the office which turned into the nursery).
Both babies got their IVs out yesterday and they are continuing to get good results on both breast and bottle. My milk supply is steadily increasing too.
It still feels like we're so far from getting to take them home. I'm sure it will go by fast but right now I am just looking around at our tiny hospital room, which feels like a dorm, and thinking this will be home for a while.
Thanks for the update @khochanadel! I didn't realize you would get to stay at the hospital too - that's great (I think) so you can be with them so often. I'm sure you miss home though and are anxious to get everyone back and settled. Hang in there - take it day by day. Hopefully the nurses will have your girls on a great schedule by the time you go home!
nicu life so so exhausting - that place just sucks all the energy out of you. Make sure to take lots of pictures - even on bad days. This will all be a memory shortly. Keep on pumping, Mama!
Happy to hear that your twins are doing so well in the nicu.
