How are you doing in regards to thinking about your twin delivery/induction/C-section?

Any nesting going on lately?

Next Thursday will be my last check-in probably, unless I deliver earlier.  If any of you want to keep in touch w/me on FB send me a message!  I would love keep up with how you and your babies are doing!

  • How many weeks are you? 35 tomorrow

Any updates from your last appointment? No one is breach anymore but we're still going c-section because I want to get fixed while they're in there

What pregnancy symptom(s) will you be glad to be done with?  What will you miss about being pregnant?  I'll be glad to be done with all of it, I loved the kicking with my singleton but the twins are so crowded it hurts when they kick (they're measuring at least a week ahead for a singleton -each)

How are you doing in regards to thinking about your twin delivery/induction/C-section? C-section, I want a guarantee they're both coming out the same way and I want a tubal, we only planned on two children, these wild little stinkers will put us at three

Any nesting going on lately? The nursery is done except to remove the paint cans (I'm not gonna carry them all the way to the basement) and hang the hot air balloon lamp in the corner

  • @MrsKubley - not many of us left!!!  This is kind of a pointless check-in although I'm glad to hear what's going on with you.  ;)
  • Right? Is it just us now?
  • It's not pointless! Maybe next week we could do a dual check-in to keep up with those who are still pregnant and get an update from those whose twins have already arrived? Or am I the only one who is still here after giving birth?

  • How many weeks are you?

    34 weeks & 2 days

Any updates from your last appointment?

Babies are still both transverse, weighing in at 5lbs 2oz & 5lbs 12 oz. c section is still a go for May 2nd which I'm happy about because I can't stand waiting around for something to happen!

What pregnancy symptom(s) will you be glad to be done with?  What will you miss about being pregnant?

I'll be glad to not be so huge anymore! I'll be happy about being able to stand/walk for more than 10 minutes. And most importantly I'll be so relieved that their here and not having anxiety about TTTS or complications.

I'll miss being spoiled and catered to by my family and strangers :P

How are you doing in regards to thinking about your twin delivery/induction/C-section?

EXCITED!!! 10 more days!!! I've watched a few c-section with twins videos On YouTube to help me prepare mentally but honestly I'm just going to be so relieved when they're out and safe in my arms!

    Any nesting going on lately?

Not really, too exhausted to be up and about. Got everything done early. Only little things and last-minute things need to be done like cleaning the floors again. Wanting to wash a new Playard we got cuz the material smells .. Not plasticky kind of fishy and chemical-ish, I dunno it just bothers me. but that means removing EVERYTHING off the Playard which I have no energy to do. Might ask hubby to put the bases in this weekend or a few days before our appointment

  • Glad to see y'all are still gestating!

    How's your little family doing???
  • We're getting by (I say while pumping at 3 am).

Both babies got their IVs out yesterday and they are continuing to get good results on both breast and bottle. My milk supply is steadily increasing too.

It still feels like we're so far from getting to take them home. I'm sure it will go by fast but right now I am just looking around at our tiny hospital room, which feels like a dorm, and thinking this will be home for a while.

It sounds like things are getting better super fast actually, but I had a friend in the NICU for 5 months. You'll all be home in no time.
  • Thanks for the update @khochanadel!  I didn't realize you would get to stay at the hospital too - that's great (I think) so you can be with them so often.  I'm sure you miss home though and are anxious to get everyone back and settled.  Hang in there - take it day by day.  Hopefully the nurses will have your girls on a great schedule by the time you go home!

nicu life so so exhausting - that place just sucks all the energy out of you.  Make sure to take lots of pictures - even on bad days.  This will all be a memory shortly.  Keep on pumping, Mama!

Happy to hear that your twins are doing so well in the nicu.

Good idea! I'll revamp the check-in next week. We mainly want to hear about babies anyway! :)

It's a nice perk of our hospital that they don't use their postpartum wing often enough that they make it available for parents with babies in nicu. If we hadn't made it to 32 weeks, we would have been bumped to the mega hospital downtown with a level 1 nicu and they'd be sending us packing as soon as I was discharged.

I know it feels that way, but it really does go fast. We didn't get to stay overnight with our girls, but I sat with them for 10-12 hours a day for the whole 4 weeks they were there. They've been home for 2 weeks and 1 week now and it all feels like such a distant memory. I second taking all the pictures. Drink in your sweet babies because it goes so fast!
