Re: Tuesday Ticker Change 4/19

  • Week 10! Made it to double digits!

    Strawberry-sized (or prune, I think?)

We're slowly decluttering our house and donating our accumulated junk, one trip to Goodwill at a time. We're also just starting on a project to redo our backyard. That's for our entire family, not just baby.

My all-day nausea has turned into on-again off-again nausea. I'm hoping for more off than on soon.

Finally I have my first real appointment next week! I had a meet-and-greet appointment at the birth center I'm planning to deliver at about a month ago, but it wasn't actually a medical appointment.

I went to junior and senior prom with my high school boyfriend. We dated for all 4 years of high school and I thought I wanted to marry him. He dumped me after my freshman year of college and I was totally crushed. But back to prom, it was fun -- junior prom we drove around after to 2 different after parties, laughed at the really drunk people, then had a co-ed sleepover with about a dozen friends at the house of a close girlfriend of mine (her parents were home). Senior prom, same thing, but a different friend's house.

  • Week: 12

What's new with baby (size, development): Plum

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: We are moving into a new house this week and possibly buying DH a new car.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: My symptoms have really subsided. The exhaustion is still kicking around, but I've definitely been feeling better. I'm looking forward to 2nd Tri.

When is your next appointment: I have my NT u/s today. My next OB appointment is 5/3.

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's post) Did you go to prom? Any good stories? I went to junior prom with my HS boyfriend and to senior prom with a guy friend (boyfriend was at college). No crazy stories, just the typical prom experience. Our photos were pretty entertaining I'm 4'10 and my HS boyfriend was 6'5.
  • Week: 12!

What's new with baby (size, development): plum!!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby:
My mom bought me a gift of diaper bag, diapers, face cloths and bath stuff!
we also picked out the nursery we want! MIL is paying and it's on sale so may end up with that sooner then expected but we're getting a crib, dresser, rocker and change table
    Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:
    Feeling a lot better lately!

    When is your next appointment:
Thursday to hear the heart beat!!

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's post) Did you go to prom? Any good stories?
i did! And the night before I went to another prom (all my best friends went to another school) and I was so hungover the whole day I threw up during my hair appointment. Smooth.
  • Week: 10

What's new with baby (size, development): Strawberry or kumquat (according to Glow)

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: We bought sheets for my son's big boy bed. So the crib will be ready for this LO soon!

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Been feeling pretty good  - just not sleeping as well. Already having to wake up to pee!

When is your next appointment: I have another OB appt on Friday - not sure what for, other than to get my order for the NT scan in another week or two. I'm also going to ask about the blood tests, since I find ultrasounds very uncomforable.

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's post) Did you go to prom? Any good stories? Yep, Junior and Senior prom, both just with friends. No noteworthy stories. For senior prom, my school always put on a big after party at the Y and then I went to a friends house for the night. I remember they hired "The Omelette Guy" to cook us breakfast, and that was very cool at 18.

  • Week: 12

What's new with baby (size, development): He's apparently the size of a Plum

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: We moved all of my daughter's toys from her "playroom" to the basement. I wanted to get this done early so that she would be used to her playroom being downstairs and wouldn't resent the new baby for making the move.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Most of my symptoms have subsided except for the shortness of breath

When is your next appointment: Thursday!

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's post) Did you go to prom? Any good stories? I went to my Senior prom in a big group but my boyfriend picked me up super early so I was only there for like less than an hour. (He didn't come because he had graduated a year earlier and we had just started dating a week before prom)

    Married 3/24/12
    #1 Born 6/14/13
    #2 Due 11/1/16

  • Week:  8

What's new with baby (size, development): Raspberry

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby:  Nothing yet...sorry kiddo.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: On-and-off again nausea, fatigue, some dizzy spells, and achy boobs.  And all the bloat.

When is your next appointment: Tomorrow at 8:30am.  Ultrasound first and then an appointment with the ob directly after.  This my first appointment with my new ob but she delivered my son since she was on-call so she has already seen my situation.

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's post) Did you go to prom? Any good stories  My dad got married on my junior prom day (but I wasn't planning on going to prom anyway but I'm still miffed).  I had a rando date for my senior prom.  it was ok but not great.  But I loved my dress!!

  • Week: 12

What's new with baby (size, development):
    Size of a Robo hamster.
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: We've been discussing trading in my husbands Prius for a larger car.  We have 2 dogs we travel with to my parents quite often and I think we need a third row.

    Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:
I hate insurance companies so very much.
I can consistently find the heartbeat with the home Doppler now so that is always a fun thing.

    When is your next appointment:
Tomorrow I have my NT scan.  I already did the blood work portion so they said I would get my results right away.
GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's post) Did you go to prom? Any good stories? I only went to one dance for my entire high school career and I thought it was pointless and silly.  I went to a very small rural school and dances weren't very fun.
  • A day late, I was so busy yesterday.

    Week:
     9

What's new with baby (size, development): Eastern tailed-blue butterfly

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: I am starting to go to rummage sales to find good deals on things. Last weekend I got 2 long sleeve onesies and a hat for $1.25.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: My symptoms have never been very strong but I have noticed in the last week that they have for sure lessened. When did you all start noticing your symptoms going away? I feel like its too early, but then I read that the placenta is starting to take over (not fully yet).

When is your next appointment: April 27 for first prenatal

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's post) Did you go to prom? Any good stories? My school only had Junior Prom and then a dance called Senior Ball. I was dating DH in high school and he was a grade higher, so I went to his junior prom as a sophomore. Then we broke up that year, I had a different bf (1 grade lower than me) for my junior year so I took him. I don't remember much but I know after the dance there was an after party (school sponsored) at the bowling alley so we did that and there were other things to do besides bowling. Both proms were fun.
