Re: 3rd tri Check in- Week of April 18

  • Almost 38 weeks here!!! Just came back from my OB appointment, and apparently baby is not even engaged yet...so sounds like we have pretty good chances of making it to 40 weeks. And that's despite klutz me who trip and fell last Thursday and ended up in L&D yet again to make sure all was fine (so I got to be monitored for another 4 hours). I asked whether there was some sort of membership I could get ;) DH wasn't too proud of me and told me to just stay home, eat cookies on the couch and get fat. I've managed to get out of the house since, thankfully!

We've been getting amazing weather here the past 3 days! It finally feels like summer is coming! Unfortunately we're not going on vacation anywhere this summer, but I'm looking forward to being on mat leave in the summer. I was a student for quite some time (up until 3 years ago) so even though I always had some work to be done, I could usually work from home, which I haven't been able to do as much since starting to work. We got a great patio done last summer, so at least now we can enjoy our backyard.
  • 35 weeks today! I had my GBS done this morning, so I will get the results of that at my next appointment. I hope it's negative. My next appointment is May 2 and then my appointments are weekly!

I'm not really looking forward to anything else this summer aside from spending it with my little one.

@KidShrink Good grief, you need to take it easy! I think your DH needs to put you in one of those bubbles. lol

  • 32 weeks and everything is going well so far. Have an OB appointment this coming Thursday and they'll do the ultrasound too so am pretty excited about that.

looking forward to the maternity leave during the summer and my parents are coming to visit from Nepal. My sister-in-law is planning to visit from London and my sister might also visit from Italy. No solid plans for her yet. So I am looking forward to all the family time during this summer and looking forward to showing them parts of US during their visit. :)

34+2 here! But I'm counting down to my RCS which is exactly 5 weeks from today!!! Woohoo!!! Nursery furniture is coming tomorrow and should be set up by the time I get home from my OB appointment. I'm so excited and think it will finally make it feel more real!
I still have an awful rash that doesn't seem to be going away or getting less itchy no matter what I put on it. OB asked me to try taking Benadryl last week which I did for a few nights but it did nothing for the itch or the rash and made me feel drunk and unable to sleep. We will see what he says tomorrow.

  • 31+a few here. Finally getting set for delivery and getting our birth kit. Midwife confirmed baby is head down still and everything looks great for having him at home. :)

GTKY: I'm excited to move in August. Moving with a baby will be hard, but having a larger place will be lovely!

@nb817 is it puppps? I've had itchy arms and belly/ a bit of redness/rash off and on. I started using my Origins on it and that helped a ton! I use their mega mushroom relief toner 1x a day after my shower and if it gets really itchy a paste of baking soda and cool water. Calamine lotion did nothing for me. :/ Hope it gets better and less irritating for you!
  • Hi ladies! Been a long time. I've been lurking from time to time, just haven't had time or energy for updates. Glad to see everyone is well and things are moving right along! It's been rough but I've been getting along ok.

Im currently 39w4d now. The biggest issue has been my bump size. With the fibroids my fundle measures 47weeks which makes everything uncomfortable for me. Sleep has been real hard. Walking is near impossible due to my hip and back pains. OB thought for sure I'd have her by 38 weeks because of the fibroids. That didn't happen. I'm ready. Have everything all set and I'm prepared for her arrival. The waiting is nearly unbearable. I spend most days and nights in the living room recliner. That's the only place I can get any sleep which lately is during the day for a couple of hours at a time. I do what I can around the house and try to get out a few times a week. Everyone is driving me nuts with the calls and texts asking me if I've gone into labor. If I don't answer my phone they freak out. I hate having nothing new to tell people. I hate complaining about it. It's just me being frustrated and irritated.

So, currently, this past week's OB appt was the first time my cervix was checked. I was so hoping for good news. That didn't happen. My cervix is very high and closed and not ripened. So the plan is to go back on Monday, which is my due date, to check the cervix again. If there's no progress then Wednesday I go in to have my cervix softened with some vaginal cream. Then I'm scheduled for Thursday morning to be induced. Either way if things don't move on their own I will be induced on Thursday. The worry is that the fibroids will cause complications in contractions or pushing. So then the Caesarian was mentioned as a worse case scenario. I'm kinda bummed. I just wish she'd come on her own before Monday. I have tons of BHs. Lots of pressure on the pelvis. Cramping, back pains etc bI just don't know what the deal is. Guess she is just not ready to come yet. I feel like I've waited forever. Waited forever to get pregnant. Now waiting forever to have her in my arms. I'm trying real hard to not get depressed. It's just hard since all I can do is sit and think and wait. I am trying to keep myself busy. I'm trying to stay positive. It is what it is.

Sorry such a long winded update. I just know you ladies understand. It's really been a long time since I've posted so had lots to say lol. I will for sure keep you all updated from here on. I'm pretty proud to be on the top of the list now. Hope everyone is well and has a great weekend!

  • @krbjoy hope she comes on her own before ur induction date. And I really hope you'll get some comfort with ur pains once she arrives. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. All the best. :)
  • Oh @krbjoy ! I had been wondering how you were doing and so sorry you're not doing great...I've been having back/hip pain keeping me awake at night too (I've established my sleeping quarters for the night on a comfy chair we have in the 'playroom' downstairs...that'a the only place where I can sit comfortably these days...lying down just isn't comfy). The fibroids sound awful though...do you have many/big ones? Did they also grow during the pregnancy? Outside the uterus? I really hope it doesn't lead to complications or a c-section... You'd think we'd be spared from stuff like that when we've already gone through so much... Definitely keep us posted, and best of luck to you!
  • @krbjoy Oh! I am so sorry. :( That sounds super uncomfortable and I don't blame you for feeling the way you do emotionally. *hugs* I hope that she decides to come on her own before Monday, or at least before your induction date. I can't imagine how uncomfortable and just blah you must feel.
