Intro - low AMH/high FSH *TW losses*

Hi all, I've been participating a bit in the low AMH thread but thought I'd jump in a bit more overall on the board.

I'm 29, DH is 34 and we've been TTC for almost 2 years now. We have gotten pregnant twice, but unfortunately lost the first at 6w and the second at 12w. After my second loss we started IF testing since it took 15 months to conceive. I have low AMH and high FSH, and now we are waiting for our first RE appointment in July (we couldn't get in any sooner!). I fully expect to have a diagnosis of DOR, and am eager to see what the RE will recommend for treatment. I've been doing weekly acupuncture since November, and actually started it the cycle I got my BFP. It may have been a coincidence, but I am a big believer that the TCM approach helped!

Looking forward to getting to know this group.

  • Hey there @AL_TwinCities!  It's been nice following your journey over on TTTC but I'm also happy to connect with you over here!  Best of luck with your RE appointment in July, that stinks you had to wait so long to get in but that's pretty normal for a lot of clinics.  What area do you live in?

  • @AL_TwinCities welcome! My husband and I are in a similar situation. I have a high FSH 15.5 and he has Low morphology and motility. I'm 31 and he's 33. I have a child from a previous marriage but he doesn't have any children. I just started acupuncture recently. And we are starting our IVF/ICSI cycle in two weeks. I'll keep my fingers crossed that neither one of us has to be on here much longer :)

  • @wifeinraleigh28 I live in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, which is the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. The best clinic in town is the one that has the long wait - I would have been able to get in quickly at a new branch of CCRM, but they don't take insurance and my plan thankfully does cover IF treatments up to a $25k lifetime max. There is another clinic in town that I could have gotten into as well, but they didn't have good reviews from other bumpies and friends. So we wait  :/

Thanks for the welcome all! @LizMB GL with your cycle! I'll be (not creepily I promise) stalking you in the IVF thread to see how everything is going!

  • That is great that you have IF coverage up to $25k!  And worth it to wait for the best clinic.  Hopefully you'll be moving on from this board soon :)
