  • 1. How far along are you and how many babies are you expecting?

    11+1 today with di-di twins

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to?

12 weeks, since that's when the risk of m/c drops to its lowest and so that's when we're going to announce! After that, I'm looking forward to 13w for my NT scan...can't wait to see these two again :)

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

I keep talking about how excited I am about my hospital's policy that I can attempt a vaginal birth as long as Twin A is head down at delivery, even if Twin B is breech or transverse. I feel like it'll be so much easier to recover from a vaginal birth than a CS, especially when taking care of twins!

The closer I get to the second tri, the more optimistic I feel. I really think things are going to be okay this time, and it's a nice feeling!

    4. GTKY: Have you started planning your nursery or baby sleeping arrangements? What are your plans?

Plan is for them to sleep in a pack 'n play next to our bed for the first few months, then we'll transition them to cribs in their nursery (either the same or separate cribs, depending on if they sleep better together or apart).

We're painting the nursery a deep grey, and we're going to do white furniture and yellow accents. DH is pretty artistic so he's thinking about maybe painting some Truffula trees on the walls.

  • @comealongponds I love the truffle trees idea!  I'm looking at a Dr. Seuss theme possibly, too.  More Oh the places you'll go.

(Not in the MoM group, just peeking.)

  • @UTAmbs11 - our "theme" gets more eclectic by the minute...DH just told me he also wants to paint some hockey themed canvases as well to go above the cribs. I'm excited for the trees though, I think they'll look cute!

  •  1. How far along are you and how many babies are you expecting?

    9+5, di-di twins

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to?

Feeling them move. I felt my first daughter pretty early so I'm hoping to feel these two in a few weeks. Also looking forward to closer to the 20 week mark when I get to find out what they are!

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

The exhaustion is still bad, but getting better - looking forward to being in the second tri in a few weeks and having energy back!

    4. GTKY: Have you started planning your nursery or baby sleeping arrangements? What are your plans?

Other then starting the processing of borrowing some short term need items so we have two, I haven't done much nursery planning yet. My husband is planning on ripping up the carpeting and refinishing the floor in the future nursery over the summer, so I'll probably start the nursery planning then. My daughter slept in her rock n play in her own room for the first 4 months, so I'll probably do the same for the twins.
  • I usually just peek in on these, but I'm excited because this is my first pregnancy after infertility so cautiously optimistic.

Guys I can't believe how many sets of twins we're rocking in November! Hope everyone is doing well!

    1. How far along are you and how many babies are you expecting?

    8+2 with fraternal twins (di-di?)

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to?

My first visit with my OB. I've been getting weekly scans at my fertility clinic but looking forward to getting further along and learning more about them.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

I actually feel pretty great. I am however finding it hard to fit into my clothes. I'm not showing per se, but definitely feel like I'm getting bigger. It looks like I've just been eating too much, on top of some bloat.. Which could just be the case! Wondering have any of you ladies started to show?

    4. GTKY: Have you started planning your nursery or baby sleeping arrangements? What are your plans?

No, nothing. We are so nervous to make any plans before we are out of the first trimester. However, we currently live in NYC so we are definitely talking about moving out of the city to have some space for two babies.

  • @jmboscacciI'm not showing much yet, I can absolutely suck it in so not a true "baby bump", but the bloat is real. If I don't focus on good posture, I have a good bloat belly showing. I had a work event last Thursday that I had a coworker ask me if I was expecting because I wasn't paying attention to sucking it in!

With my first I started showing a small bump around ten weeks, so I'm imagining this twin bump will be popping up soon.
  • @jmboscacci like @MrsMaritime11 I'm not showing but I'm *so* bloated all the time it looks like I am! Family notices but I doubt a casual acquaintance would (I'm in the "is she fat or pregnant" stage...super attractive lol).

  •  How far along are you and how many babies are you expecting?

I am 10 weeks 5 days with  fraternal twins.

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? 14 weeks because that's my next appointment. I just love hearing their heartbeats.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes

I am always nauseous. The positive I told my father today (by accident).

    4. GTKY: Have you started planning your nursery or baby sleeping arrangements? What are your plans? They will be sleeping in their own room. We have no idea what the nursery theme well be.

  • 1. I am 8 weeks 6 days with di-di twins!
    2. I'm ready to reach the 2nd tri! I apparently have rough first trimesters with bleeding, so I am hoping that goes away soon like it did with my DD!
    3. Rant: I am so over this sub chronic hemorrhage!  Positive Vibe: We finally told my dad (who is a twin himself!), and he was super excited! He's been sending me lots of twin parenting advice, which is pretty sweet!!!
    4. There is a very good chance we will be relocating for my husbands job in the next few months, so I really haven't put a ton of thought into nursery set-up! I also had the nursery ready to go at 6 months with DD, and she didn't sleep in there for almost a year after...so I'm not feeling rushed this time! This may change when we find out the sexes...pinterest has some pretty cute ideas!

  • 1. How far along are you and how many babies are you expecting?

8w6d with di-di twins (haven't updated my signature yet).  I do have a question though, some of you know you're having fraternal twins already.  How do you know they're not di-di identicals?  I assume mine are fraternal but just because the chances of them being identical is lower.

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to?

12 weeks when the chance of m/c drops.  My very first pregnancy ended in an early m/c and it has forever ruined first tri for me.  The constant worrying is killing me!

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

You can totally tell I've got a bump so I went ahead and pulled out my maternity clothes.  So much more comfortable!  And at my appt last week my midwife told me I am the "ideal candidate" for a successful vaginal birth since both of my other ones were so uneventful.  So as long as Baby A is head down I will be able to do it even if Baby B flips breech.  They just want a hep-lock on me.  I'm pretty relieved since I am really really don't want a c-section!

    4. GTKY: Have you started planning your nursery or baby sleeping arrangements? What are your plans?

I'm so lazy.  We didn't find out what we were having with either of our first two so I decorated the nursery completely gender neutral (gray, white, and yellow with elephants) and haven't touched it since DD1 was born.  We'll be adding another crib and calling it a day!  They will sleep in our room at first and we will transition them to their room eventually.

    i am 8+5 with di-di twins.

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to?

Dh and I decided to tell our parents for mothers day. Super excited to see their reactions to the news of not one but two grand babies.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

The nausea dizziness and constin need to pee are getting old, but I'll take it.

    4. GTKY: Have you started planning your nursery or baby sleeping arrangements? What are your plans?

I'm going with a you are my sunshine theam.

  • 1. How far along are you and how many babies are you expecting?

    I am 11+6 with mono-di twins.

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to?

12 week ultrasound next week. I've just been really worried lately about TTTS and other associated risks with twins and 1st trimester pregnancies (this is my first pregnancy!). I think I'll feel better once I see that they are ok and growing at the same rate and check their heart rates. My OB won't check with the doppler yet because she said it's too early, so I'm very anxious for my appointment to get here.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

I was diagnosed with HG and had a PICC line placed a few weeks back to receive fluids and vitamins at home. It's been an uphill battle so far, but I'm really hoping I will start to feel better eventually. I've been out of work for a month and I have a lot of time to worry now!

    4. GTKY: Have you started planning your nursery or baby sleeping arrangements? What are your plans?

I haven't really started planning the nursery too much yet - I want to find out the gender first. I also just want to get through this 1st trimester hump before I start going crazy with planning!

  • Ouch @smoeller716 that does sound like a rough first trimester! The end is in sight! I hope you start to feel better soon :) We have the same due date, though I'm sure neither of us will make it all the way there!

  • So MoMs can I just tell y'all my story and see if you have any feedback.  Lol.
I'm 8w3d.  I have had 3 u/s to verify pg.  the first one at 5w showed nothing.  The second at 6w showed 2 sacs but nothing else.  My 3rd at 7w2d showed 2 sacs one with an obvious hb.  The other very difficult to see.  My betas went from 3000- 15000 in 48 hours.  I'm constantly ill (which I've never had in 4 pregnancies) dizzy and my poor ute hurts. I have given up the idea of twins feeling like the one sac is just not viable,  Dr. says let's see what happens in a month.  My u/s were difficult due to a tilted ute.  DH is holding out hope.  I never in a million years imagined twins since it doesn't run on either side of the family.  But this pregnancy is sooooo different.  I have had 1 live birth and 3 losses so I'm anxious about this whole situation.
    Any similar experiences?

@campbaby76 - I also have a retroverted uterus. My 5w5d ultrasound showed two sacs with two yolk sacs; 6w5d showed two babies with heartbeats and that has remained consistent. HCG numbers are a poor indicator of multiples since the range of "normal" is so vast so a quick rise doesn't actually tell you a whole lot. As well, each pregnancy is different so the fact that your symptoms are different that what you've previously had also doesn't really tell you much. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do but wait and see what shows up on the next ultrasound but I will say that a vanishing twin is not overly uncommon (a quick Google says about 1/8 multi gestational pregnancies will have a vanishing twin).

  • Is everyone going in to their OB every two weeks? I had to switch my Dr because she wasn't an actual OB and can't do a twin pregnancy. (She delivered both my nephews and has been my Dr for 10 years). So in switching Dr I have to wait a whole month between my appointments. I feel like now is a very scarry time in the pregnancy especially this being my first pregnancy . I don't know if I should be taking any extra supplements or anything. I have also been having a feeling that I have lost one. Should I just chill out or should I call my new Dr and see if she can move my apt up? And did your Dr advise any extra supplements?

I am only going once a month at this point.  I don't think I start every two week appts for quite a few more months.  My m/w does have me on twice the amount of folic acid, Vitamin D, DHA, and made sure that my prenatal had iodine in it.
It is scary, and I constantly worry that I have lost one so I'm always counting down the days to my next u/s.  I feel like I can't start to enjoy this pregnancy until I'm out of the first tri because that is when my fears will hopefully subside!

  • @smccree88 like @RaeJ004 I'm going monthly to my OB right now. I had frequent ultrasounds early on because of an SCH but it has now resolved (yay!) but otherwise I'm being followed as a normal singleton pregnancy until further on.

  • I'm another one in the monthly visit category. I would think maybe as we get further along we'll be considered a little more high risk and might have more visits, but for the time being i'm being followed as a normal pregnancy by my OB's office.
