NBR at all...but need input on straighteners!

This is NBR, but I need to poll a bunch of women, so i thought you would be perfect!

My straightener just bit it!  I had a really nice babyliss one and loved it.  I need another good one.  And I don't mind spending a little on it.  I straighten my hair about 3 times a week so I need one that I can control the temp and won't fry my hair!

So, if you love yours, let me know what you have!  PS.  here is a pick of my curly hair.  Its fairly easy to straighten!

  • I love mine.  I have a sedu and it has been in my life for 6 years now.  I use it 3-6 times per week on fine but wavy hair. :)

  • Looking good mama! Love your curly hair! I have a chi that I use once or twice a week. My hair is more of an annoying beach wave rather than curly if left to do its own thing. I happened to find mine in the clearance section at Ulta after the holidays and couldn't believe my luck. Otherwise I know they can be pricey.

  • Ulta always has good deals in straightners i know some of there CHI are 69.95 right now that are like 149.95 reg. price. i had a chi before but i let my cousin use it and never got it back. Now, I have a pink revlon that was like $25 and works just fine i loved my old revlon i had because it had the curling plates outside of it so i used it as straightner and curling iron but my pit got of hold of it and tore the cord into pieces and i could not find the same one but the one i have now works just fine and curls my hair just fine too, but you look good i love your curls a little jealous of them because my hair is just wavy and sometimes just straights out itself
  • I had a CHI for about 6 years before it gave up. I loved it because I didn't feel like it broke my hair. Now I just have a cheap one but I need to upgrade soon.
  • I have coarse, thick, wavy/curly hair, and the Babyliss is the only one that truly works on my hair. Did you not like yours? The new thinner models can easily curl your hair too. After having a Chi, Hot Tools, Bedhead, and random cheapies, it is by far my favorite. But I have also heard good things about Sedu. My mom and best friend are both stylists and use Babyliss, so I am probably biased.
  • The best straightner ive used are croc's.  Heat up is soooo fast. Control is great. The handles are amazing. Its a bit expensive but you get what you pay for.

Between babyliss, chi and croc id go croc hands down.
  • I have an Amika, and it was expensive but well worth the money. I have pretty straight hair as it is, but it is super thick and can look really bushy, so this straightener makes my hair look smooth and glossy like I had my hair professionally done every time I use it.
  • I have a one n only by argon. It works great. Has a temp setting which I need. I also gave a chi and it just gets to hot and I can smell it burning my hair
  • Love my Chi!

  • Love my chi, but have heard really good things about babybliss so I'm gonna try that when the chi bites the dust. There was just a groupon for babybliss, not sure if it's still there but it was a great deal! I usually order from folica.com they have really great prices on hair tools.

  • I use the Croc with the black plates that gets up to 450 degrees. But I have extremely poofy frizzy curly hair and it's really hard to straighten. The croc is a professional grade straightener that was only released for public use a couple years ago. If your hair straightens really easily though this one might be a bit much for you. For example, the best chi on the market doesn't even begin to straighten my hair.
  • I love my Babyliss! I used a Chi for the longest time and was having to buy a new one about once a year. I've had my Babyliss for at least 5 years and still works just as well as it did the day I got it.

  • I have VERY curly hair and use the GHD 1 1/2 inch straightener. I know someone with a beaty license and was able to get it at Cosmo Prof for $200. Had it for 5 years now. It adjusts temp to your hair so you don't damage as quickly.

  • I second @emmeline714about a Chi on sale at Ulta. I love mine! You can also find them often for a good price at TJMaxx or Marshall's.
  • Zulily has the Chi half off right now.
