Symptoms: Iffy sleep, BH, tired more easily, heartburn
Rave: Had my first (of 2) baby shower on Sunday! It was wonderful. Small, low-key fun afternoon with sweet friends, my mom, and sister catching up and celebrating baby.
What are you doing to prepare for baby?
Organizing the nursery and shower gifts, and cleaning out stuff in the house
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby?:
If I can swing it, it'll be a sip of red wine, medium rare steak, mashed potatoes, and chocolate cake.
Any rants/raves/symptoms? Heartburn, insane psycho dreams, and returning headaches. Rant: It's Monday and my boss isn't here all week so my motivation to do work is nonexistent at best. Rave: Headed to see my family this weekend for my baby shower! I'm excited to see everybody and to have the shower so that I can figure out what we need to buy.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Went to a childbirth class this weekend, cleaned the house for listing it, and moved the dresser into the garage to start re-finishing.
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby? Probably something super unhealthily carb-oriented... and maybe sushi. I don't feel great right now though so nothing sounds super appealing.
Any rants/raves/symptoms?: Rants/Symptoms:The swelling in my feet and hands is out of control!! I went to the OB on Friday and there was no protein in my urine and my blood pressure was okay, so she wasn't concerned about Pre-Eclampsia, so that's good. But it very uncomfortable!! Now I'm just waiting for my second GD test to come back today (the first was good, so I'm hoping this one will be good, too - had to have two since its twins) Raves: We went to my mom's to celebrate mine and my sister's birthday (three years apart but born on the same day - Weird!). I have twin niece and nephew who are 18 and a niece who is 21, when they we're younger we would have scary movie nights at my apartment and watch old Alfred Hitchcock movies since there was no gore but still good. For my birthday, they got me three of the movies we would watch and M&M's, my favorite! Such good, thoughtful kids!!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? DH and I finished our registry at Target this weekend (mostly just for the completion discount). This weekend I need to clean out the closet in the babies' room. Please tell me that will happen!
Questions: Anyone have any good remedies for swelling?
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby?: There's a Jersey Mike's across the street from the hospital, so I'm hoping someone will bring me a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich!
@shannonrnbsn I might have missed it somewhere else, but what kind of picture did you design?
@crdo That sounds like a perfect shower! Glad you enjoyed it!
How far along are you? 30 + 3
Any rants/raves/symptoms?: Newly itchy belly, getting annoyed REALLY easily, trouble sleeping so I'm tired a lot. Rant: Seasonal allergies in Texas suck. Rave: It's Monday morning, so I've got nothing yet.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? House hunting. Buying essentials that we'll need when he gets here. The stroller and car seat were delivered over the weekend, so we made sure that we could put them together and know how they work.
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby?: We get a candlelight dinner (or any meal) in the hospital, but I have no idea what that will be. Hopefully something carb-y and delicious!
Any rants/raves/symptoms?: Rant: It’s Monday and I’m sooo tired. Anxiety started to
creep back up last night because I felt a sharp pain right below my breast bone
and immediately thought the worst thing was wrong. So I definitely tossed and
turned a lot of the night and had a hard time pushing it out of my mind. Of
course, this morning I feel fine so I’m trying to keep that in mind to reassure
myself it’s just pregnancy pains and nothing is actually wrong. Also, I licked
an envelope and now I feel like throwing up. Either that, or nausea is making a
comeback. And my left ribs hurt from coughing/sneezing so much these last 2
weeks. Rave: Sinus infection seems to be getting better each day. It’s
definitely slow-going though. Not sure if it’s cause it was more than one thing
(felt like I had an ear infection at one point) or if it’s b/c I’m pregnant and
it’s harder to get rid of b/c of that. Symptoms: So much lightning crotch
randomly when I’m walking and it makes me want to grab my crotch – great when that
happens in public! Other than that, rib pain is back, BH, tired, achey.
What are you doing to prepare for baby?Had my baby shower yesterday and it was pretty fun and
seemed like everyone had a good time. Don’t enjoy all eyes on me when opening
gifts, but it’s a necessary evil. I just don’t like being the center of
attention. Now I’m just going through what I have and will be writing thank you
cards this week. Then working on buying out the rest of the registry this week
and after the Just between Friends event on Saturday. DH is looking on
Craigslist for a recliner for the nursery. The one I want is almost $400 so if
we can find a nice one for much cheaper, then that would be great! Matting and
framing the nursery prints will hopefully happen this week too. And DH will likely start putting together more stuff and maybe we'll look for black out curtains this weekend.
Questions?STMs +: Did you use or see the need for multiple diaper
bags? I ended up with 3 (2 are the same model that I did register for, one is a
smaller one I didn’t register for) this weekend and some people said you can
have one in each car, but if it’s not necessary, I can return one of them at
least and get something we may need more. The one I registered for was $70 so
if not necessary, would definitely help with getting some other necessities.
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby?: Mmm...food. Whatever the hospital has the sounds good? Now, once I'm home, maybe a medium steak and some red wine.

I'm uncomfortable. Gah! Rave: I dunno, man. It's Monday. I'm having a hard time coming up with anything positive, lol.
What are you doing to prepare for baby?
My baby shower is next weekend so I'm trying to hold off doing anything until then. A lot has been bought off my registry. All of the bigger items with the exception of the glider so I guess that could be my rave. I probably won't have to buy much as far as necessities go.
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby?
@kbequette08- since this is the second reference to baby shower/registry stuff you've mentioned today, I wanted to encourage you to buy what you need if it's stressing you out. Just mark it off your registry. A shower is a time to celebrate you and baby, NOT to provide for your baby. Yes, I understand they're also about gifts, but if it's really stressing you out so much, just get what you need
@shannonrnbsn- can you post a pic of what you designed? That's super exciting!!
How far along are you? 32+5
Any rants/raves/symptoms? I'm just super crabby, in addition to lots of other things, so I'll just shut my mouth
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Got what was left on our registry last week and washed it all on Friday. Got baby's hospital bag packed and mine is almost done. Now, just waiting for H to finish a huge test for work so we can switch the kids' rooms around and we'll be all set.
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby? It all depends on what time I deliver. If it's MOTN, I'll probably have my H get me a yummy bagel/cream cheese from the shop right by the hossy, and a drink from SB. We also get a "celebration" meal while we're there, so I'm looking forward to that, too. Also, I don't even care what I eat, but just the fact that I can pick up a meal and order it, and have it DELIVERED TO MY ROOM.....bliss.
Any rants/raves/symptoms?: Support belt seems to be helping the RLP pain.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nothing today
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby?: Something that goes with a margarita I've heard the hospital has really good omelettes and I didn't get one last time, so that's on the list.
@huskerfanz So jealous of the steak dinner! Although you definitely deserve it! And crossing fingers your contractions don't increase so you can have a mini break from the doctor!
@kbequette08 Hope you have fun at your shower this weekend! And sushi sounds so good!
@colesmom33 I'm sorry to hear about the swelling. I haven't had it bad yet, but hope you can find something to help soon!
@BakerBird525 I think you'd be fine with 1 or 2 diaper bags. Personally, we had 2 and I used one much more frequently than the other. Since DS has been 1, we just got him a backpack that we keep in the car with essentials - things to keep him busy when we are out and a few diapers and wipes. I say return one and get other things you'll really need!
Symptoms: trouble sleeping, back pain, swelling. Rant: all the damn concrete that's on the grass in my backyard from getting a fence installed. That'll be fun to clean up. Rave: It is supposed to be nice out this week! 60s starting tomorrow! I can take the dogs out and enjoy the previously mentioned fence (while cleaning up chunks of concrete..)
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We have a breastfeeding class on Thursday. It's my first class so I'm being nerdy and am excited. My labor DVD should also be arriving. I also need to find a cheap rocking chair.
Questions? Anyone know where I can find a cheap rocking chair or glider?
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby?: I'm sure I'll be pissy because I'm vegan and the hospital probably won't have vegan options on its menu (or only salad, F that I just birthed a baby), so I'll have my husband run out and get me something. There is a bar nearby that has a portobella sandwich that is pretty delish. I may have him pack a cooler and bring me some dairy free fro-yo haha.
Married July 2014 DD born June 2016 Second due August 2020 (team green!)
Any rants/raves/symptoms?: Nothing new... I think the baby moved positions though because I can breath easier/there isn't as much pressure in my ribs. Minor rant... though my happiness for them outweighs my crankiness... I mentioned my cousin & his wife had their baby on Friday - well they named him one of our top 3 names that we were deciding between. It wasn't DH's favorite of the 3 but it was mine! Oh well, he's adorable and I'm really happy for them... I guess I should thank them for helping us narrow our choices but I was a little disappointed with having that choice taken away from us!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Stalking my registry now that shower invites went out... I know I shouldn't but its too fun not to!
Questions? None today!
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby?: An Italian sub for sure... funny enough thats exactly what my cousins wife wanted as well and we brought it to the hospital for her on Friday. She later sent me a picture of her happily scarfing it down I also really want sushi but I think I'll wait to actually eat that at home rather than in the hospital!

Unfortunately we can't afford to buy everything we need at the moment. I was the only income until my husband got a job just last week so we've been having money troubles for a very long time. Besides, my husband and my mother in law both told me that people like to go in together to get big gifts and that his whole side will want to contribute as well and they told me to wait.

Check craigslist for a cheap rocking chair/glider. People are always selling stuff
Any rants/raves/symptoms?: found out today that my marginal/partial previa is actually partial previa...being 30 weeks I know the chances of that changing are slim and I'm having a hard time coming to terms with a c/s after three great births.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Working on the hospital bag now(was planning on a home birth so haven't even thought of a hospital birth)
Questions?
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby?: WINE and something full of carbs
@colesmom33 I LOVE SLC!!!! I was there a year ago for a skating competition (3rd one in 4 years actually). If it weren't cold in the winter, I'd so move there! But I'm partial to my 75 and sunny temperatures during winter out here in California

I personally preferred just 1 diaper bag because I'm too cheap to buy enough things to stock two diaper bags. And I have a hard enough time remembering to make sure the diapers/backup clothes are the right size with one bag.
Also, I'm having a way harder time with congestion because of pregnancy. The dr said it's because of the increased blood flow which is causing my nose to kind of swell.
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
@mrsallikat@mamanicoleof3 I designed 4 photographs that I took to be black and white, then drew the blue out of the picture. The walls in the nursery are gray, so I wanted the blue to pop. Let me see if I can download them and I'll post them.
@ahernandez16 that is awesome that most of your bigger items have been purchased off your registry! getting so close to the shower, so exciting!
@colesmom33 Happy belated birthday! Sounds like an awesome time. Sorry to hear about you being swollen, but glad to hear your doc is not concerned about pre-e
Any rants/raves/symptoms?: Rant: Well it is Monday and gloomy and I would love to be curled up on the couch right now. But I am at work... Rave: Just feeling very thankful today for my family and all the support they give to me. Symptoms: Nothing new, sore hips, sore lower back, waddling around everywhere.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? DH & I put the crib together this weekend! Took a couple of hours (the crib is connected to the changing table and shelf/drawer unit so it was a little complicated), but there were no melt downs during it. LOL we are a good team! It is a beautiful piece. And I am in love with seeing his little bed all set up, it is making everything feel very real. He has a place to sleep!
Questions? Anyone else have to meet the hospital's anesthesiologist? My doctor has me going in to meet with them on Friday because I want the option to ask for an epidural during delivery. Any idea what this meeting consists of?
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby? I was just fantasizing about this the other day LOL. Definitely a large Italian cold cut sub, with extra prosciutto, pickles and tomatoes. If it is a nice warm June day like I am envisioning I would not turn down a Corona with a lime as well... Ahhh summer is going to be lovely, ladies!
@Bakerbird525 We only have one diaper bag, too. It's always fully stocked and has everything I might need. I don't know that I could do that with more than one. I would be afraid to grab the wrong one and get somewhere and not have enough diapers!
@kbequette08- ohhhhh yes. I remember the job situation now. I didn't mean anything snarky- I hope you didn't take it that way!!
No it's fine! Hopefully even if there are a few things we do need to buy we'll be able to afford a bit more with an extra paycheck which will definitely help!
Any rants/raves/symptoms?:Rants - I'm just so freaking tired all the time. Raves - my H finally talked to his boss about moving and got the okay so I can actually start packing/cleaning/throwing shit away. Its nice to feel like I'm not living in limbo anymore. Symptoms - See rant
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Had a breastfeeding class yesterday (the first of my classes!) It was pretty informative even though i'd already read a lot about the stuff they covered
What will be your first meal after having your baby?: I have no idea if our hospital provides something. If not, probably whatever i can get my mom or best friend to pick up for me
I'm feeling better than I have in a long time thanks to this gestational diabetes "diet." (less like "diet" though and more like "way of eating.")
We purchased some new baby clothes just for our little guy.
First meal will probably be either something from the hospital depending on the time baby arrives and whether or not the cafeteria/room service is open, or something someone brings me, like Taco Bell. Although I want sushi (an eel roll) ASAP.
Any rants/raves/symptoms?: couldn't sleep tonight. Battling cold and can't breathe with my nose, have to move all the time, hips sore...the usual I guess.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Got a second hand Bugaboo Frog as a gift so happy about that even though I had my eyes set on Vista. Figured I can still get it if I don't like the Bugaboo. Also ordered a car seat over the weekend online

Any rants/raves/symptoms?:
DD born June 2016
Second due August 2020 (team green!)
@ahernandez16 Taco Bell.... Mmmmm. I seriously lol'd when I read your response.

Check craigslist for a cheap rocking chair/glider. People are always selling stuff
Also, I'm having a way harder time with congestion because of pregnancy. The dr said it's because of the increased blood flow which is causing my nose to kind of swell.
Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
@mrsallikat @mamanicoleof3 I designed 4 photographs that I took to be black and white, then drew the blue out of the picture.
@kballew10 woo hoo baby shower coming up!

Questions? How many diapers in a diaper bag?
What will be your first meal to eat after having your baby? Chinese low main for soft poop later:)
Have awesome showers lovely ladies!
