Secret Facebook Group

I find Facebook to be easier to use then these apps discussions so I made a group called December 2016 Bumps. It's a SECRET group so you can only see posts if you are a member and nothing you post will show in your timeline. I'm in one for my March 2015 baby and I absolutely love it!

It is too early for most of us to be comfortable with a FB group. We still have ladies coming in for the last half of the month, and we don't know each other yet. There was a discussion on this a couple weeks ago. You might want look it up.

my 2012 BMB converted to a FB group and it was so full of drama, mostly after we all had our babies. there's good and bad to FB, sure it's easier to use but most of us enjoy the anonymity at this point.  maybe down the road after we have all gotten to know each other

Oy silly mobile didn't post my entire post! Anyway, I was going to say a couple of my friends had a FB group when they were pregnant and said it was very supportive. Hoping there's less drama with less anonymity.

Kind of unrelated: your 2012er is almost the exact same age as mine, when is her birthday?

I'm all for a FB group after we're a little more established here. I'm part of Oct 2012 and March 2014 FB groups and they're both still going strong. They've been incredible supports through this parenting thing and I've made some great friends. I hope we can do the same!

I'm still on my O14 FB group daily. We've had a few explosions but still fairly strong. I agree, I find it easier to keep up with Facebook because of the names instead of usernames

I am still in my January 2012 Facebook group that broke off from here and we are a very close group. That said we built up to that and didn't strike out until much later in the journey. I would be interested in this at a later time.

I'm still a part of my September 2011 facebook group, I check in daily and absolutely love the friendships I have formed. I definitely be interested down the road.

I love love love love love the mamas in my J14 facebook group, we're super close irl too, but I agree with others that it's too early here for that. Stranger danger for me.

I'd love a FB group. I'm still in my N14 group and while there has been the occasional drama,  it's a great group of ladies.

I have a question about the stranger danger thing. And I'm not at all being snarky, just genuinely curious. I'm all set to join now but I need to ask this first.

What is the danger at this point? I have my profile locked down so if we're not friends all you can see is my full name and profile/cover photos. I don't plan on giving any personal location details or anything like that out in my posts.

So the only actual danger I can think of is a total stranger finding my friends and outing me for being pregnant? I don't see that happening but what would another risk be? I feel like I'm missing something.

@SA0012 one of the things that worries me is the possibility of a catfish. We had a pregnant mom of two or three in July 14 that was always asking information about where we live, names, etc. She also started a lot of threads asking for pictures. We ended up outing her as a totally not pregnant, not even a mom girl that was making up her entire story and stealing pictures of another woman and babies to post as her own. This happened months after our babies were born. 

Creeeeeepy! 

ETA all that to say it's still super early and I hope there's no one like that here. There probably isn't but you never know!
