TW potential loss noted

hi ladies,

I went in for my 7-8 week ultrasound (first) and was told there was a gestational sac, yok sac, but no fetal pole. I am measuring about 5 weeks. I have to go back next week to repeat the US but looks like a miscarriage. I've had no bleeding or unusual cramping so they would need to prompt the miscarriage with pills or a D&C. I know exactly when I ovulated and when I had a confirmed blood test. I've had all the pregnancy signs and still do. We are devastated as this is our first pregnancy. We are already grieving what we feel is inevitable.

What I've learned through this is that I am not in control. I am 31, very healthy, athletic, normal weight and took 5 months of TTCing to get pregnant. I would not call miscarriages very common but they happen. I will keep you posted one last time next Thursday when we have our second US but I wanted to thank everyone for the support on here and I wish you all wonderful pregnancies.

I am so, so sorry :-( When I had a miscarriage, I had no cramping or bleeding, but my doctor was still fine with me waiting and letting things happen naturally. Just to share.

Sorry for your loss. What I learned from my first pregnancy ending in a loss is that unfortunately miscarriages are more common than we are led to believe.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Unfortunately, like @TheBorg7of9 said, miscarriages are very, very common. Almost every woman I've opened up to about my MC has responded by telling me their loss story. The TTCAL board was a big help for me after my MC.

Thank you everyone for the kind words and incredible support. We are hoping our second US on Thursday brings closure of whatever needs to be. I can image the process of actively miscarrying will be even more excruciating and then there is hope.

Thank you all again. Miscarriage confirmed and I am not miscarrying naturally. I took the misoprostol pills this weekend and they did not work. I'm currently setting up a D & C which I have to do under local anesthesia as I had complications last time I was under general. The baby died 5 weeks ago and I haven't miscarried and I feel like physically, I just need some closure. Thank you to all and my best wishes for a healthy and happy pregnancy.

I'm so sorry. I went through something very similar, though I began to bleed the next day after my u/s but still nothing had really happened a week later so I had a D&E as well. I hope it's not too bad for you.
