Pubic Symphysis?

@ 8 weeks pp, I have finally been diagnosed with a ruptured pubic symphysis. I'm getting an MRI tomorrow, and seeing a specialist on Monday to make a game plan, However, like a fool I've googled this condition, and found some scary info (it may require surgery, could be months more of recovery time, etc). SO, it's a long shot (apparently a rupture is really rare), but - has anyone out there gone through thjs, and have words of wisdom?!
