Not a regret, but I have never quite connected with my son's name (Timothy). I do really like it, and it's true there were no boy names I liked more, but I still kind of have a feeling of "Oh, right, that's my kid's name", when I hear it. Hearing my family call him his name is weird still, like I don't immediately realize they're talking about my baby.
I am happy with his name and I don't want to change it (like I said, there was nothing I liked better) but I'm still getting used to it, I guess.
I think that's kind of normal, especially if you didn't call him that while you were pregnant. It took me a couple months of everyone else calling him that for me to "catch on," haha. Now he's almost a year old and it comes a lot more naturally!
+1 to this
We named our son after my beloved grandfather, who passed away right before I found out I was pregnant. We were Team Green, had a backup name prepared, and hadn't told our names to the family (i.e., hadn't gotten used to the name).
Everyone was thrilled we chose that name, but it took us all a few months to get used to using it. For the first few months he was "Baby C" and Grandpa was still "Big C."
Baby is 10 months now, and my mother just said the other day that she finally has a new association with the name. We've all dropped the "Baby" preface, except cousins who we don't see often.
It saddens me to see the posts about people regretting a name because it's not popular on this board. I know people change and spending time here can move you toward certain types of name, but what a bummer to evolve to disliking your own kid's name. That's not a criticism, just an observation.

yes, this board is much, much more critical than the rest of the planet. Keep that in mind, ladies. After all, my kid does have a "filler" name
