About a month ago I found out I was pregnant with my second child.  I had my first appointment with my OB yesterday at 8.5 weeks.  Instead of finding a heartbeat, she sent me for a surprise ultrasound to confirm dating because I was measuring small.  At the ultrasound they found a sac but no embryo.  They couldn't confirm if the baby had stopped growing of if my dates were off.  I knew my dates weren't off but I held out hope when they said they wanted to see me for a second ultrasound in two weeks.  Well today I started with painful cramps and bleeding.  I can't believe this is happening.  We were so excited.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how you are feeling right now and all the ladies on this board are great to talk to! We were so excited for our first little baby and nothing can prepare you for this heartbreak. We are here for you and I'm praying that you can find some comfort during this hard time.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We just lost our second baby last week. It's such a terrible feeling but this board really has been so supportive and comforting. Sending you hugs. One day at a time.

I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our first baby just a week and a half ago, nothing can ever prepare you for the pain the experience brings. I have found in this short time that this board is a great resource and the women here are extremely strong and helpful. I am sorry you find yourself on this board but I hope we can all help you through this.

Thanks everyone.  I am sorry we're all here as well but I can feel the support already .  I think the miscarriage is actually over already; I passed everything last night within a few hours.  So at least there were no further complications with that or a need for a D&C.  OB wants me to call in again this morning to follow up and hopefully we'll be cleared to try again fairly soon if / when we're feeling up to it.

I'm home resting and my daughter went to daycare today.  Just taking some time for myself.

I'm so sorry. This is very similar to what happened with me. It's awful. Especially being convinced that your dates were off.

I also miscarried at 8 weeks.  The baby had only grown about 1.5 mm from week 6 to 7 and then no heartbeat at 8 weeks.  It was heartbreaking.  I'm so sorry for you.  Hang in there.
