Figured I would start another one of these for the new month... And to share my current anxiety. DH doesn't seem to see the issue with the current state of this room. Currently he's working on other projects bc he thinks this is ok... And yes those are the baseboards sitting in the middle of the room with nails sticking out of them. Not hazardous at all. Ugh.
Slowly but surely getting there!! Almost done !! (We have started a hilarious inside joke where we test out all our baby items with Chewbacca - lol we even brought him him to our baby class!)
Got the book shelves up and my sister has finally finished the farm animal paintings she's been working on. They're on their way here and I can't wait to get them on the wall!
Here's my gigantic mess of a nursery. I blame this dresser that has already taken 3 building sessions, a repair (already!), and didn't come with enough screws.
@ncm0328 Where did you get your book shelves? That's next on my to buy/to do for nursery list.
Pre-painter with just stuff piled in the nursery, plus some extra junk (those old pillows on the window bench) that have been hanging out in the nursery since we moved.
We had the walls painted lavender, and now we're finishing up wallpapering the accent wall.
Next up - book shelves, a little table and lamp, and for the lighting fixture we ordered to arrive at the end of April. I feel like this is never ending.
Got the shelves up! Still need to set up the little bookcase to go underneath and figure out how to disguise the ugly black cord for the baby monitor...any suggestions?
Also, I have white curtains to be put up. Do you think they are necessary, or OK as is? I can't decide. The wall portion on the left isn't very large so I think it may look odd
I like the idea of curtains because I feel like it pulls the room together. I've been reading online the debate between darkening the room and keeping it with light for day time napping. Another thing to consider is how late it stays daylight where you are in the summer. Here it's light until 8:30pm/9pm, so we got room darkening curtains.
@onislandtime the ugly baby monitor cord bugs me and I don't have a solution either! Also, we didn't have curtains when my daughter was born, but later put them in to keep it as dark as possible for nap time.
Not for the nursery but DH built a sidecar bassinet for our bed. He made a cut out underneath so I can store diapers/ wipes. I am so in love with it. Just have to sand and paint it and my mom is making the crib sheets. Cant wait to see it all come together.
We finally got some things up on the walls this weekend! I'm planning to mat and frame the rose, and find a frame for the other small print. I also need to decide on the perfect letter "A" for the same wall. I am so glad that I decided at the last second to change the color of the nursery to lavender (the walls are lavender as well, but they look sort of white to me in these photos, for some reason).
Our new nursery will also double as a guest room, hence the bed. We're mostly done!! Other than figuring out what to put on the wall on the crib side of the room... And organizing the closet.
@Kit&Cat love love love your crib & dresser. We got hand-me-downs, but if we had purchased our own I totally would have wanted those.
@ncm0328 I love those little bookshelves! Did you get those at IKEA by chance? I'd love to do something like that in my little guy's room.
And here is a picture of the art we hung up over the crib in our nursery. This was an art project my stepdaughter and I did. Really happy with how they turned out!
@jenbkc I got them off of amazon but I'm pretty sure I saw that IKEA made some floating shelves that are very similar! Here's the link to where I got them off of amazon:
Just about done! I don't have a pic of the window, but I want to get different curtains. I also need to get handles on the closet and some random accents.
Yup, this is it. There were 7 men in this room for 6 hours on Sunday, and this is it. Am I surprised? Nope. Am I freaking out? A little bit. Ok, a lotta bit! Especially after all the contractions I had this weekend, it is more real than ever that this girl could come at any point soooo...we should probably have the room finished. Like now.

@laurenmdrn16 Yikes! I'd be lighting a fire under your DH's rear end! On a positive note... looks like it will be a sturdy wall when complete!
Well, really the joke is on him because I am not having my son sleep in a construction site so he sleeps in bed with me and MH either sleeps in my son's bed or on the couch, neither of which are very comfortable for a giant man like him. I was hoping that was motivation enough, but apparently not, so I don't know what will get that guy's butt in gear.
Re: April Nursery Updates
my BIL made this E and I love it!!
