Weekend Ticker Change 4/2 & 4/3

Week / Fruit:

Rants / Raves / Symptoms:

Upcoming Appointments:

Questions for the group:

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list?

Re: Weekend Ticker Change 4/2 & 4/3

  • Week / Fruit: 32/Squash - I think squash is too vague...there are so many different kinds of squash!

Rants / Raves / Symptoms:  Last week I was sleeping great, this week I toss and turn and am super uncomfortable rolling over or changing positions.  I got my first stretch marks this week, and although they aren't that bad right now, I wasn't mentally prepared for them and almost started crying because I feel like this baby has officially taken over my body entirely.  I can deal with feeling like I've been kicked in the vag and having one boob that hurts all day, but the stretch marks really upset me when I saw them.

    Upcoming Appointments:  Wednesday, April 6th

    Questions for the group:

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list?  Today is my shower and our house is in disarray because we have my best friend, her husband, and their toddler staying with us in the nursery due to us having a small house - which mean some furniture needed to be move out so they can stay in there.  I'm not sure what I'll receive at the shower, but I look forward to the middle of next week when I can start getting everything organized again when I get home from a trip down to WV.  So my to do list: attend baby shower today :) , re-organize nursery, buy remaining baby items we need, make a bulk shopping trip to Sam's Club, prep some freezer meals, wash baby items, send in application for daycare (although that's not really due until probably August), & RELAX.
  • Week / Fruit: 31 / pineapple

Rants / Raves / Symptoms: 24 hours into prescribed bed rest so i don't dilate any more. It already blows.

My OB is leaving the practice April 30 so she is so hard to get my appts scheduled! The twin pregnant lady should have priority dammit.

Rave: babies are growing and doing great. Over 7 lbs combined!

Upcoming Appointments: weekly with my perinatologist for BPP and growth scans now, OB week of the 10th.

Questions for the group: What netflix/amazon shows are you binge watching? I'll be needing them in the days to come.

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list? So much, but it will have to wait! Glad I got as much done for babies as I did leading up to bed rest. I'll be doing a lot of online shopping and hopefully finish this book I've been writing that's in its final stages.

    Week / Fruit: 32

Rants / Raves / Symptoms: It's getting harder and harder to breathe (and walk and sleep and eat) but otherwise still feel mostly okay!!

    Upcoming Appointments: April the 13th

Questions for the group: Making a daddy-package for DH for his shower on Saturday. I have bought a cute outfit to go in, some energy sweets, baby wipes - do you ladies have any suggestions for me? What else can go in? I was thinking to still add Red Bulls, a gas mask as a joke and cigarre - but what else will daddy need?

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list?
    1. Finish nursery after shower next weekend
    2. Bulk buy
    3. Final baby stuff - to buy
    I hope I am ready.
Also, sign our wills, wich is very depressing...
  • Week/fruit: 35 coconut

Rants/raves/symptoms: the constant feeling of having to pee and nothing. I can't sleep between that and the restless legs. All the pains and cramping too. So ready to have my body back.

Upcoming appts: 4/7 for check up, GBS test, and to book my c section! 4/18 for pre-op then c section around 4/29!!

GTKY: we're doing renovations so the nursery isn't even started. But I've accepted I may have to do it after she's born. I'm just ready to have her. Hospital bags are packed and in the car, stocked up on formula, diapers and wipes, clothes are washed and ready. She's measuring 3 weeks ahead so I want to be ready in case she's early. But my cervix is long and thick so she should stay put until c section date.

I'm sorry you are on bed rest. I can't imagine that is easy. Will you be on until you give birth?

  • Week / Fruit: 34 weeks

    Rants / Raves / Symptoms:
I hate to be that person but I'm doing really good. Sleeping good. Only getting up once a night to pee. I have some indigestion and acid but that's "dealable". So between the acid and swollen/painful feet if that's the worst of it I can deal

    Upcoming Appointments:
Monday for dr appt and weds for growth scan.

    Questions for the group:

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list?
This weekend we have to install the car seat. I have some random things to wash for her. And my bag to pack. I want to get all that done this weekend. Then all we really have left is a BJs run to get some freezer meals. I feel like we are in a good place.

Yep, until delivery, the date of which is squishy at this point. Sucks I don't have more time to get things done, but I am saving our babies NICU time every day they stay in there!
  • Week / Fruit: 34

Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Besides the feet swelling I'm doing pretty well. Starting to get a little more uncomfortable when sleeping, but I don't think it's anything I can't handle for the next few weeks.

Upcoming Appointments: 4/12, then weekly after that :)

    Questions for the group:

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list?
Finish the nursery, buy the rest of the baby stuff we need (we're waiting till after the shower), a few paperwork things, and packing my bag. When I put it this way it doesn't seem like I have very much to do but it feels like there is so much more than that.
  • valerie4786 send in application for daycare (although that's not really due until probably August), & RELAX.
I swear we had to have ours in last August! (Mostly exaggerating, but we had our reservation in by end of December.)

We had ours in by February. And apparently at the place we went with that was pushing it and we were supposedly lucky there was a spot.
  • Week / Fruit: 36/Honey Dew/Bag of chips

Symptoms: Constant real contractions! All day, but not consistent in timing and not getting stronger. I just hope they're doing something.

Rants: My family is pretty much unavailable for the next 2-3 weeks.  Which means I'm going to have to scramble to find a sitter for the kids when baby comes. My neighbor said she could check in on them here and there, but that doesn't help me much.  I need someone who can be here with them all day.

Raves: I have gotten everything on my baby to do list done.  Now we just need a baby.

Upcoming Appointments: The 6th. We should be doing the GBS test and cervical check. I thought he'd do it at my last appointment. I guess whatever.

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list? All done!

    Week / Fruit:  32 weeks!!  a jicama

Rants / Raves / Symptoms:  Rant: I want to sleep 10hrs in a row, but I wake up at 4 or 5 am for no good reason.
Rave:  Still pregnant at 32 weeks!!  My lovely neighbor had a Sprinkle for us today!! 9 of us neighbors go together for brunch, chatting, and of course, some really thoughtful, generous gifts.  I'm really touched.  Plus, what do you get the Team Green mama for a Sprinkle?  not an easy task!
Symptoms: Still a lot of contractions, but trying to focus on the positive that they haven't put me in labor yet!  also, crotch/vag/pelvic pain. ouch!

Upcoming Appointments: this Tuesday, April 5th, routine OB appt.

Questions for the group:  Do you have any personal goals for this pregnancy? I have set small goals along the way - my last 2 are getting to 35weeks and then my c-s at 37.2weeks.  And working on healthy eating.  Anybody else?

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list?
Big things: trade in car for (probably) a minivan. then wash and install carseats.
        -Set up crib or bassinet

    Not quite as crucial:
        -write Sprinkle thank you notes
-stock and organize kitchen.  freezer meals
        -pack hospital bag
        -wash newborn clothes
-watch for medical bills and negotiate (why are my ffn test coded as experimental?)
        -date night with DH
-work on Mother's Day gift and May b-days: sister, SIL, bro
-I hope to do some other nesting cleaning/organizing :)

so yeah, plenty of things to keep me busy over the next 5 weeks.  The goal is to get the new (used) car by either next weekend or the one after (Aptil 17th). Please hold me to it!  Everything else is doable!

Upcoming Appointments: Thursday April 8, OB check up

    Questions for the group:

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list? so much to do.
    1. finish nursery

Agreed that it could be worse at this point!  Even though I'm a bit behind you at 32 weeks and things can change!
and if I'm complaining about lack of sleep - then it's really not that bad!
I like to "count my blessings".  I know this can change any minute, but today, I don't have any hemorrhoids, stretch marks or varicose veins (that I know of).

Don't feel bad about being able to sleep!  I wouldn't wish insomnia on you!

    Week: 32 today...yay!

Rants/ raves/ Symptoms: itchy itchy awful red bumps that are pimply all over my belly. I've tried bio oil, cortisone cream, aloe and coconut nut oil. Each seems to help for about a day but then do nothing after that. I want to cry and tear my skin off. OB said she didn't think it was PUPP because they are individual and spread out but I'm starting to doubt her.

    Appointments: April 12th

GTKY: Oooh so much to do.  We are still waiting for our furniture to come in which probably won't happen for another week and a half. Then I can start washing newborn clothes and put them away. DH is building shelves for the closet which he says should be done by tomorrow. Still need to install car seat bases, pack hospital bag and everything else!! Ahhhhh!

  • Week / Fruit: 33/Durrian
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: My sciatic nerve has been giving me so much trouble this week! I've been able to remain active throughout my entire pregnancy and (mostly) keep up with my pre-k classroom, but I can tell that I'm approaching the last few weeks.
Upcoming Appointments: Routine appointment next week.
Questions for the group: This is a strange question, but H and I need to buy a new fridge before LO arrives, and we have no idea which brands are better than others. Does anyone have a preference?
GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list?
There's so much, but I know this weekend we are installing the car seat and doing a final reorganization of the nursery before my baby shower.

  • Week/Fruit: 34/some other kind of squash

Rants/Raves: No rants. Pretty happy with how easily everything's still going, fingers crossed it stays that way. No new symptoms either, I've been pretty much unchanged since week 32.

Upcoming appointments: routine checkup on Monday.

GTKY: I still need to buy a thing of formula and wash some baby clothes, otherwise I'm putting the baby prep down as basically finished in terms of having the basic necessities covered. Everything else can wait.

    Week / Fruit: 35 weeks/coconut

Rants / Raves / Symptoms: I hate this freakin foot/leg cast so much. I hate not being able to nest or do anything to prepare for baby but lay around... As if I didn't already have trouble sleeping. Sleeping with a foot/leg cast is not helping. This pregnancy has seriously been so great. No crazy symptoms or anything, just regular ol appointments. Now that I'm in the home stretch. This happens. :disappointed: I'm seriously feeling down and depressed about it. I can't express it to DH because he is also under a lot of stress right now.

Not to mention this is going to affect my work and sick time if I have to be out early. I was trying to save my time for the baby. I feel utterly alone. I'm at my parent's house right now and I hate it. They're helping take care of me but I can't get away from my mom's snarky remarks like "oh I'm here to serve you at this hotel" or "only a mom would take this good of care of you". As if I did this so she can help me! I absolutely hate staying here and wish I could just go home! I'm going insane and it has only been 2 days....

Upcoming Appointments: April 14 for another Pap smear and check up.

    Questions for the group:

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list? So many things...yet, I'm useless due to my broken foot :disappointed:

I feel for you so much. It's so hard being cooped up and dependent on everyone else when you're nesting and surrounded by projects you can't do. Both of our moms have sucky ways of helping out sounds like! Just try to find projects you can do (on the computer, knitting, etc.) And stay distracted these last few weeks. I'm thinking of ya! Hang in there.

Thank you! Also thinking of you, I'm not on prescribed bed rest but I feel like I am. I'm so sorry you're going through this! And yay for babies growing healthy! That's pretty much the only positive thing I can see from all of this, our LOs are doing fine :)

  • Week: 34 - butternut squash (love with goat cheese and walnuts)

Upcoming appts: 4/4 for 34 weeks. I asked the nurse if weekly started at 35 or 36. She said sometimes my ob starts at 35 and sometimes she skips and doesn't see the patient until 36. I'm guessing I'll be a skip and will have my group b at 36 weeks.

Questions: my pregnancy question is why is it that pregnant women are everywhere when you're pregnant yourself? It's all I notice, all the time. They're everywhere!

GTKY: oh I still have basically a million things to do. Nothing like game time crunch time. However, proud of my toddler bed transition that happened last week. Now for serous nursery re-do, and unpacking all the newborn necessities.
Oh and getting my cases at work tidied up, eek.

Rants / Raves / Symptoms: (rant) - Had a few nights this week with very restless sleep, but (rave) made up for it last night - slept for 13 hours!

Upcoming Appointments: None this week, next routine visit at 34 weeks.

    Questions for the group: Nothing

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list? So much. But we're making progress - today we bought most of the nursery furniture! It's finally starting to come together

Week / Fruit: 35 / Coconut.  Which makes literally no sense since I was two coconuts on Ovia like three weeks ago...

Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Sleeping on the couch for good, now.  I need to need to be sitting upright, leaning to my right side, with my feet propped up so that I don't wake up an hour later with heartburn and breathing issues. I'm glad I have a comfy couch! My symptoms are starting to get to me, but none of them are that bad. The worst is the muscle pain near my ribs that I asked about on the main board.  Apparently normal, but it was as if my Dr's office had never heard of it.  Thank goodness for knowing a slew of neonatal nurses... Apparently it's just my ribs softening and separating to make room for Baby, who is huge (5lbs, 11oz at the growth scan last Friday, almost a full week ahead of schedule...).

Upcoming Appointments: Not til April 11. But it's with my OB (finally!) rather than one of her NPs, and it sets me up to have an appointment every Monday after that until Baby arrives.

    Questions for the group:

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list?
    1.  Organizing: We don't actually have a separate room for baby to be in/live in.  There's a room we can store some of his stuff in, but we can't access it all the time. So DH and I have been re-arranging the house to make the living room into Baby Central. Which means getting rid of most of the stuff that's already there, which means putting anything we don't think we'll use this summer into boxes to stack and store for the big move in August (so, essentially, packing for the move 5 months in advance), and turning our regular furniture into baby furniture. I spent three hours yesterday trying to find appropriately sized storage boxes so that I can turn one of my bookshelves into a proper dresser for Baby.

    2.  Pack the Hospital Bag: On my To-Do list today!

    3.  Wait for the Shower: Can't buy things because I've registered for them, but I'm beginning to get anxious: the shower isn't until April 23, which is only two weeks before my original due date (which Baby might pre-empt, given how big he is already!).  This means that setting up the stroller, installing the car seats, putting away supplies, washing and putting away newborn clothing, and purchasing anything that wasn't gifted at the shower all has to wait for another three weeks, which might only be a week before Baby comes...

    4.  Clean the House: The Deep Clean is on my To-Do List today:)

    5.  Start my perineal massaging! I can reach, no problem, but I've been reluctant to get down and dirty, so to speak.

  • @khochanadel and @tgortney I'm sorry y'all are both having to play the waiting game. Hang in there!

    Week / Fruit: 36/papaya/honeydew/ chihuaha/cabbage patch kid

    Rants / Raves / Symptoms:

I really need to watch what I eat to avoid heartburn, but I can't stay away from the Mexican food!

Upcoming Appointments: I don't know because my OB's receptionist screwed up. I have to call them tomorrow.

    Questions for the group: None

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list?

Finish packing hospital bad and get the car seat installation checked. Laundry.... That's about it for actual baby stuff. I still have to finish my sub plans for maternity leave. That's my largest, most overwhelming task, but I've put a big dent in it.

Rants / Raves / Symptoms: husband is going offshore this week for 14 days, then home for 14 days. I'm really hoping that Deuce wants to make its appearance when husband is home instead of at work.

Upcoming Appointments: 35 weeks. I'll get my GBS swab since #1 was pre-term and I hadn't got my results back.

Questions for the group: what are you wearing during labor? I have a birth photographer and I want to look a little decent lol

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list? Everything. Definitely not prepared at all

  • Questions for the group: what are you wearing during labor?
I wasn't planning on bothering with this but after spending a day in a 'one size fits most' hospital gown I am going to spring for a jersey night dress I can use for nursing as well. Those gowns are total nipple chafers!
  • Week / Fruit: week 33!

Rants / Raves / Symptoms:  pretty much the same rants/symptoms of swelling and insomnia.  I'm also starting to worry about baby being breech and whether I would try a version with the anterior placenta.  I know there is still time (but not much!).

Raves:  DH and I had a great last getaway to Florida this weekend!  The beach offered the relaxation I needed from the anxiety I've had the past few weeks!

    Upcoming Appointments: April 12

Questions for the group: none for now

GTKY: What do you have left to finish on your baby to-do list?
Oh boy.. Install bases and car seat, freezer meals, write up will and decide guardianship, hang decor in nursery, finish cleaning out several rooms and closets in house, and deep clean house!  Totally doable.  :)

Definitely! I'm thinking about either a cheap bikini top or sports bra during labor and delivery then just changing out afterwards
